We didn't know any of the artist (there were a bunch) but we were already there and figured it would be the only time we'd experience something like that so we bought the tickets and we went. We ended up somewhere on the field about a third of the length away from the podium so normally you'd have trouble finding back the spot after getting a drink or going to the toilet or something. Not us.. It was like a sea of small people with 1 towering above them in the distance. I loved his video when I saw it. I am so glad you reacted to it. I am only 1,62 so I am quite short for a Dutchie. But my attitude is larger than life 😅🤣🤣
I’m a neighbor of the Netherlands (Belgian) and I’m 182cm (5ft 11,5in). Although our average height is a lot more than the Korean average, we are not quite as tall as the Dutch, so I love going to the Netherlands. Luckily I live about 15 minutes from the border 😊
My 19 year old nephew is 2.00 meters. My mom, his grandmother, is maybe 1.55. He can pretty much rest his arms on her head. He loves to call her Kabouter (Gnome) 😂😂😂
Very relatable, I myself am also 2.06m and my grandma is 1.50m. It is a lovely sight to behold. Samen een beetje uitkijken voor onze oude kaboutertjes.
for me it was the other way around, im 1.89mtrs tall and im from the netherlands, and i lived in asia for a couple years and it was funny to see so many people shorter than me, started feeling like a giant at times ;)
1m88 barefoot Tall and still growing,,Anyways I have noticed that even 1m93 is birthing special here the Dutch are super Tall,,,I am Somali 🇸🇴 born in the Netherlands and we consume A lot of milk in the Netherlands Dairy also geneticlinage my mum comes from Tall linage so yeah it’s genes too guys
I’m a Dutch woman at 1,65 and am a midget compared to people around me! I used to live in Kenya where I was above average in height, bij on moving home I found out that I was quite short! . My late husband was 1,90 and most things in our house were designed for his height. It’s a fact I have a little plastic step next to my toilet because it just too high for me.
He's so happy to be normal height. It is great to have that many tall guys here. When I can't reach something up high at the supermarket for instance, there's always a tall guy around I can ask. lol.
This makes me laugh so much. I have two adopted daughters from China. Our oldest is only 160 cm. And she always says, with a wink: That's my fate. Adopted as a little Chinese in the land of the giants :-) She doesn't suffer from it, by the way. I'm not very tall for a Dutch person. But older Dutch people are about my height (184 cm). Many young people are much taller. When I first came to China in the late 1990s and walked down the street, people wanted to take pictures with me. In some villages they had never seen a white man and having such a giant in a photo was great for them.
The funniest thing is, I have the complete opposite. I live in the Netherlands and especially there I'm considered really small (1.56 cm). Then I visited a few countries in Asia, and I could finally look over crowds, and reach everything, and look in the mirror everywhere! It was so nice!
I am 183 cm. Some of my family members are much taller then i am. I love that guys reaction when he was in our country and it gifs also a lot of joy to know that we can help People also with the things they want at there hight. But even here in the netherlands for some People it is difficult to get close at a normal cloding store because they are to tall here in the netherlands. They need to go to other stores.
My friend's cousin is 2.14 meters (7 feet). The first time i saw him, he was getting out of the car. You know those scenes where a guy gets up and the other guy has to tilt his head to follow him up? That was me. It seemed to me like he never stopped standing up. We were going to a car show that day. We were barely in, when a girl went standing behind his back, to measure herself to him. She barely reached his shoulder blades. We were dying laughing and he didn't know why 🤣
You should look up the picture of Oliver Richter (The Dutch Giant 2,18 or 7'2) in Korea he was in a Korean McDonalds (or something like it) The counter is so low he could have stept over it if he wanted. Olivier was seen in the Indiana Johnes dial of destiny movie he is the tall guy.
Well, for a Dutchie I'm pretty short. I'm 5.5. My daughters are even shorter. I think because I don't drink milk haha. So, there are a few short people in the Netherlands left. No worries. Never had any problems with toilets.
I (Dutchie) grew up as a girl with three older brothers. Two were 2m, one was around 1,90m. We always called him the shortie. My brothers always put stuff on "eye level". So, on top of the upper kitchen cabinets and places like that 😄 Pretty annoying for me and my mother, who are both around 1,72m, so pretty normal. My two tallest brothers are pretty tall for Dutch standards though. They do stand out in a crowd a bit (which is pretty convenient) but maybe not as much as this Korean guy does in his own country. I think Dutch men on average are about 1,80, and women around 1,70? Maybe a bit shorter in parts of the country with more people from immigration backgrounds.
Yeah I'm asian height because of my mom, she had the counters made lower for her use. I'm a little taller than she was at 159, almost 5'3" but in the last place I lived I had to stand on my toes to look in the bathroom mirror and to take the shower down from the wall. I'm chestheight with most people. I can't reach thetop shelf in the store but they usually have some 2 meter tall teenage boy very willing to help out if I can't climb and tweedle something down. (if it's a rack you can sometimes get it from underneath to the front)
A lot of men in the Netherlands are 193 cm or taller, only for an Asian man it is rare. I am 178 cm tall and I am a woman. I glad that my son is not that tall, he is only 183 cm. My brother is as tall as the Asian man, he is 195 cm. Being taller than 200 cm is not so nice, but as long as it is below 200 cm it is fine.
I’m a 1.72m tall dutch woman and honestly I’m the short one of my friend group. I live in the Netherlands in an almost 100 year old house. It has doorways at 2.2m and ceilings at a height of 2.6m. Everything in the Netherlands is adjusted to our tall height.
It is so funny seeing this. I lived in the uk for a while and let me tell you. As a 180 cm or 5.11 tall woman, yoi stand out... not to mention the amount of times i hit my head in the old pubs with very low ceilings😂
When I joined the military, I suddenly was on the short end of the row. What the 🤣 I am 1.82 Still, wearing my heels makes me able to look over crowds. Came in handy when I got kids. Coloured my hair ridiculous for every gig with the band, so my children were always able to find me in crowds 👍
So funny! Dutch woman here. 1.82 tall. My two sons and my husband are around 1.95 and in my familly only my mother was short (1,74). Never considered myself tall, just normal height, untill....I went on a holliday to the south of Spain. I wasn't prepared for the height difference and it never came to mind that it would be an issue and that people are much shorter there. I was unpleasenly suprised that the beds were to short and was also shocked by the hight of kichen counter tops, hight of the toilets and batroom mirrors...thing I'dd never have thought about. It was like going to a childrens toilet at a kindergarden. But it helped me understand the issues that tall and short people have.
I can imagine how it would feel. I'm 1.82 and once I went to a classmates home to work on a project and her family was very short for dutch standards and I felt like a hugh giant, because the pictures and mirrors etc. where way below my eye level. 😂 it was surreal.
I live in a rented house and six months ago they renovated my kitchen and bathroom. and because we are getting taller, the standard dimensions have changed. the countertop is now 10cm higher and I can only see my forehead in the bathroom mirror. I am only 1.57 m tall
Same here, I can still see the old mounting holes as they didn't redo the tiling. It is a good 15 cm higher and instead of shoulders, the lowest part I see is my neck. My face is in the bottom half of the mirror. So annoying.
There are even regional differences in the Netherlands. The northwest is the tallest. I'm 50 and used to be tall with 1.88m / 6 '2. Now I'm average. I coach a group of athletes and the shorty is 1.83m because of his small Haitian mother. The other four all passed me and are now 1.90m+. Used to coach one of 2m.
My son (15) is as tall as his dad,6 ft. Here in my home town are students from Asia. One of them told me once that they go to the children's department to buy clothes.
My dad is 198cm. When he went to Japan, people kept asking him for pictures lmao. He was so tall over there, bumped his head all the time and needed to lean over a lot. Fun to now see it the other way around, but with a Korean person instead of a Japanese person.
In 1995 I played a basketballtournament with a team of the dutch tall people club. With my 2.06m I was but 1 player the shortest. The tallest was 2.21m
The average heigt is 6.2 for the total mail population includes maroccan and turkey origine. The next generation is going to be taller. 18-20 year olds are now 6:5 ft
I was in Korea for 2 months in March and April. I was surprised that the average male and female height were much taller than expected. You run into many 6ft 1 inch males every day and 5ft 8 inch women are plenty. You don't even bat an eye to women who are 6 feet tall, you see 3 or 4 every single day.
As a 1.5m Dutch person, all the reasons he feels comfortable in the Netherlands, is why I often struggle to feel comfortable. When I visited a friend in Denmark, he told us his daughter was very tall for her age, and we thought she looked average, while I mentioned how my kids are tiny for their age, and he thought they looked average. It's all about perspective. And from a Dutch perspective, I'm tiny.
I am from Luxembourg (so Benelux with the netherlands)... originally Danish from my both parents. I am exactly 1.90 meters of height. My brothers, 1.91 and 1.93. We are above average but really not uncommon. I mean in the Netherlands for example you just have to film a little bit to find tall guys over 1.90 meters (not possible in asian countries). My ex-girlfriend from Brasil was happy to see the height here. She is 177 centimeters high, so very frustated to not being able to put on high heels with boys in Brazil or in Portugal. But if your are very a small guy (like one of my ex bosses... maybe under 170 centimeters), you still have the kids urinals at the same place (at least one or two)
For a native dutch guy age 33, I feel like I'm a bit on the short side with 1.84m/6ft. I once had a classmate who was put on growth hormones, because she was so extremely short. She was 1.65m/5'4ft
As a woman of 170cm i was always on the taller side back home in eastern europe, but since i moved to the Netherlands i never felt more petite in my life. When i was first told that i’m “so short and cute” i genuinely thought it was a joke but nope… imagine my stress when i first landed myself in a Dutch club, and i had to elbow myself through the crowd of people and hitting their sides and hips. Weirdest feeling ever.
We are evolving from living below sea-level, so if the dijk breaks and everything floods, we can just stand straight up with our head above water level 👌 Haha, I'm just joking! The real reason is because parents use those medieval stretch beds on kids. With the ropes on every limb that pull and stretches them 😄
As a medium sized guy born and raised in the netherlands.. that also happens to have very broad shoulders.. The average Dutch build being very tall and somewhat lanky means that no shirt has ever properly fit me in the Netherlands. My shoulders and neck are too big for smaller sizes. My lenght is too small for larger sizes.
I'm exactly the national average length, 183cm or 6' exactly, but where I live in the south of the Netherlands people tend to be a bit shorter than the national average, so I'm not short by any means in my neighbourhood. When I go to the western provinces (Holland) however I'm short by comparison.
The Dutch entry for Eurovision 2024 has been released today, hope you are gonna react to that. I am curious what you think of it cause it's my country and you already do a lot of Dutch songs/things. Its from Joost Klein and it's called Europapa. I am 6.5 btw.
Crazy thing is that the younger generation is even getting taller. My mum was very tall at 1.60 when she was young. She was the tallest in her class. I'm 1.70 and even a little short compaired to most women of my age. My son just turned 15 and is already at the same height as his father who is 1.81 and he is still growing in topspeed. Even has stretchmarks on his back because his skin can not keep up with his growth in height, and still he is for shure not even close to the tallest one in his class. With this speed in 20 years average height for men is 2.00 + 😂
I'm Dutch and I'm exactly 190cm (6'3 ft) tall. And allthough I feel tall living here, it's not out of the ordinary. Just like this video shows there are plenty of tall people in the Netherlands. Being 190cm (6'3 ft) tall in the Netherlands is probably the same as being 6'0 ft in the US. You're tall but not extraordinary tall. At 6'3 ft I'm actually at the lowest tire of the 'Tall folk' spectrum here. The average male height here is 6'0.5 (184 cm) and 5'9 ft (175 cm) for women. Meaning that it's not uncommon to see women who are well over 6'0 ft tall here.
I❤ your videos about the Netherlands. I saw a video were you telling us that you probably will visit the Netherlands. If you go, I offer you a stay in our hometown near Rotterdam. I will guide you in The most Modern and impressive city of the Netherlands... Rotterdam. So remember this when your booked your trip to Europe! Kind regards, Bert
This was funny to see as a dutch woman. But to see the Korean woman reach up in the train, I wondered why she didnt use the yellow railing underneath the window..we do keep in mind all heights in public transport.
I'm a 161 cm (5ft3ish?) woman from the Netherlands.. I see my hair in mirrors..that's it.. lol. I moved to Vietnam and now I'm the tallest in the elevator. I went to a concert AND WAS ABLE TO SEE THE STAGE!!!

My brother was 193 cm when he was 10 years old😂 the teachers were scared of him, he also was really strong at the age of 10. He could pick up the teachers...
As a dude living in northern Europe (Scandinavia), with my 168cm (5'5"), fat and ugly stature, I do my part in making everyone around me look tall and beautiful xD You're welcome ^^
Mothership beamed him up ? Don't you know how small those 👽 aliens are... haven't you seen the movie 'Paul' ? He will bump his head to the antimatter tubes and won't even fit in the hibernation pods 😂. Unless he's in a ship of the long grey one's. But you don't want that, for they do nasty experiments to 'specific' parts of your body 😧.
Sometimes I wonder if I'd have gotten closer to 1,76cm which would have been the exact average of both of my parents heights when my life wouldn't also have been blessed with a hollow back 😂 😂 But I'm okay with that also women are rather granted to be short/er than men and get more flag if they're towering over them when I'm like "As if anyone can do anything about or for that how they arrived into this world!" I think especially in the last 2 decades the growth spurt was visible, everyhere.

Yeeah, he fits in perfectly☺️
My 19 year old nephew is 2.00 meters. My mom, his grandmother, is maybe 1.55. He can pretty much rest his arms on her head. He loves to call her Kabouter (Gnome) 😂😂😂
Very relatable, I myself am also 2.06m and my grandma is 1.50m. It is a lovely sight to behold. Samen een beetje uitkijken voor onze oude kaboutertjes.
that is nice to hear
It is indeed amazing how tall we have got in the Netherlands.I am 75 ,and in my youth they call me the tall one..And i am 1,80 meter!
for me it was the other way around, im 1.89mtrs tall and im from the netherlands, and i lived in asia for a couple years and it was funny to see so many people shorter than me, started feeling like a giant at times ;)
I (192 cm) can relate to people wanting to take pictures with you, happened a lot to me as well when visiting the in-laws in Vietnam.
The funniest thing is, I have the complete opposite. I live in the Netherlands and especially there I'm considered really small (1.56 cm). Then I visited a few countries in Asia, and I could finally look over crowds, and reach everything, and look in the mirror everywhere! It was so nice!
It's like heaven for him
I am 183 cm.
Small Dutch guy here; 192m 117kg.
At least he doesn't have to bend over going through a door. Especially in newer buildings doors are 220cm high.
2m31,5 that is...
Yeah I did a reaction on him too, the dutch giant!
I saw this video happy dutch person here🙂🇳🇱
Yeah I'm asian height because of my mom, she had the counters made lower for her use.
Are you allready thinking of coming to visit the Netherlands? Spring farm duties are around the corner! Also i'm 186 cm, nice and average.
He would feel at home :P Blessing from the Netherlands
A lot of men in the Netherlands are 193 cm or taller, only for an Asian man it is rare. I am 178 cm tall and I am a woman. I glad that my son is not that tall, he is only 183 cm. My brother is as tall as the Asian man, he is 195 cm. Being taller than 200 cm is not so nice, but as long as it is below 200 cm it is fine.
193cm tall is not only rare Asian man, also rare Turkish man, arab man, Indian man, average Korean man height was taller than arab man
I’m a 1.72m tall dutch woman and honestly I’m the short one of my friend group. I live in the Netherlands in an almost 100 year old house. It has doorways at 2.2m and ceilings at a height of 2.6m. Everything in the Netherlands is adjusted to our tall height.
It is so funny seeing this. I lived in the uk for a while and let me tell you. As a 180 cm or 5.11 tall woman, yoi stand out... not to mention the amount of times i hit my head in the old pubs with very low ceilings😂
mijn engels is niet zo goed maar ik ging stuk als nederlander hahahahaha geweldig dit.
Yeah small country big people😂😂👍👍
When I joined the military, I suddenly was on the short end of the row.
What the 🤣
I am 1.82
Still, wearing my heels makes me able to look over crowds.
That's my height also 193cm and it's nothing special in the Netherlands 😜
I find always a bit odd when we go to a foreign country and my head sticks out. I mean I can look over a crowd, but not at that level.😂
4:12 is he saying "good?" Cuz it sounds like a dutch swear word "kut" 🤣
I'm 2.03cm myself my mom is 1.80cm and my dad is 1.96cm so it's still common for children to be even taller than the parents
im shorter than my dad but my brother who is 1.5 years younger than me is taller im 176cm so that might explain it and a curve in my back
I am from Luxembourg (so Benelux with the netherlands)... originally Danish from my both parents.
I was a bit surprised to see him board an airline most non-short Dutchies avoid because of the lack of legroom.
Dude I’m Dutch and I’m only 1,75 and I feel so small, but visiting America it was weird being taller than the average teenager 😂
We’ll if we go to Asia… we better take an extra pair of shoes, just in case 😅 (or even Portugal)
Love it being only 14 and being 1 metres and 84 centimetres and still growing
The doctors said i will be around 1 metre 97 tall when i stop growing
As a 5'8 girl who is still growing, im called short here in the Netherlands
A giant in Koreo. Just a regular bloke in the Netherlands 😁
We are evolving from living below sea-level, so if the dijk breaks and everything floods, we can just stand straight up with our head above water level 👌
Haha, I'm just joking!
I just watched his video last night. I'm korean and korean men are tallest in Asia. That guy is tall, handsome and single ❤ plus young.
Meaning that it's not uncommon to see women who are well over 6'0 ft tall here.
korean girls just shop in the kids section
I hope for him that at least he has a bed and bedding big enough for him in his hometown
The best is when i'm in foreigh country's I can easily order my drinks in a bar without the need to craw to the front of the bar
I'm dutch and I'm 6ft9. (2m05) so i wouldnt really notice him as he is pretty normal height for the Netherlands.
This was funny to see as a dutch woman. But to see the Korean woman reach up in the train, I wondered why she didnt use the yellow railing underneath the window..we do keep in mind all heights in public transport.
the biggest small country ;D
I'm a 161 cm (5ft3ish?) woman from the Netherlands.. I see my hair in mirrors..that's it.. lol. I moved to Vietnam and now I'm the tallest in the elevator. I went to a concert AND WAS ABLE TO SEE THE STAGE!!!
I'm 185, and can notice I have a very average height here. So it just feels so weird to travel abroad and feel a LOT taller
GVB ordered those metros with taller doors then the normal model. I am 1,70m and I can't comfortably hold the top bar.
That guy must feel a bit like Gulliver, but at home instead of on a strange island inhabited by little people..
As a Dutch woman who is 169 i am considered the smallest person in my family 😂
Where a small country can be big😄
9:05 I'm a dutch woman, 185 cm tall. Living in the Netherlands. Fashion still hasn't adapted to tall dutchies here. Womens clothes and specially trousers are always too short...
We have solutions for almost everything and everyone! 😉😂😂😂
I’m a short Dutchy with 173cm but my wife is from Indonesia and she is 153cm. She faces the problems of this Korean guy in Korea in reverse in the Netherlands.
1,7m tall Dutch guy reporting for duty!
My brother was 193 cm when he was 10 years old😂 the teachers were scared of him, he also was really strong at the age of 10. He could pick up the teachers...
As a dude living in northern Europe (Scandinavia), with my 168cm (5'5"), fat and ugly stature, I do my part in making everyone around me look tall and beautiful xD
You're welcome ^^
When I went to China with my family (Dutch, all tall) we had the opposite experience
Hiddink in korea is a nice documentary.
It's a lot of tall men and boys like him in my country, Norway
Mothership beamed him up ? Don't you know how small those 👽 aliens are... haven't you seen the movie 'Paul' ? He will bump his head to the antimatter tubes and won't even fit in the hibernation pods 😂. Unless he's in a ship of the long grey one's. But you don't want that, for they do nasty experiments to 'specific' parts of your body 😧.
Im a dutchy and im a tiny one witrh 1.55cm. But the sinks are not that high since i can use them like normall too!
Sometimes I wonder if I'd have gotten closer to 1,76cm which would have been the exact average of both of my parents heights when my life wouldn't also have been blessed with a hollow back 😂 😂 But I'm okay with that also women are rather granted to be short/er than men and get more flag if they're towering over them when I'm like "As if anyone can do anything about or for that how they arrived into this world!"
I think especially in the last 2 decades the growth spurt was visible, everyhere.
