Absolutely love Patty. Met him at Fan Fast in 99!! He is truly Mr. San Jose Shark - thanks for all the memories 12 - all I wish is I got to see you lift the cup. Only thing that would bring the tears like tonight did. Thanks Patty…
My parents dropped off their 15 year old son. Our Dad served our country for 32 years, so not only did they drop off their 15 year old, they left him behind when Dad was transferred to Manitoba. It was so hard for our Mom. But he had an amazing billet family. Their 2 boys were 10 and 8 and thought the sun rose and set on him. His ego had to be reset occasionally lol. ! First born, only boy, gifted both athletically and scholastically (he skipped a grade, so he was only 17 when he graduated, instead of 19 in Ontario, which had grade 13). I really enjoyed this interview! He is such a humble man, so Saskatchewanian of him. My Dad was born and raised on a Saskatchewan farm! Great interview!
Patty Marleau was my daughter Sara’s absolute favorite player. Sadly, she passed away in October 2019 but I have no doubt she was there in spirit at every Sharks game and at Patrick’s retirement ceremony. My daughter Amanda and I became big Sharks fans because of Sara. We used to travel down to San Jose for many of the games from Paradise CA where we had moved to in 2007. When our house, our whole town and surrounding area burned down in the 2018 Camp Fire, Amanda and I relocated to the Pacific Northwest because she’d gotten a job transfer. So we had our plane tickets and tickets to the game on 2/24 and we really wanted to see #12 raised to the rafters, but unfortunately we were unable to go because a storm came in and the weather prevented us. The plane did fly, but we were unable to get to the airport!😢 We had to content ourselves with watching on TV, but I have no doubt at all that Sara was right there to see her favorite Shark retire and be honored. Teal forever! 🥅🏒🦈
@@gregarious1 Brodie looked at the odds of getting the number 1 pick. Even if you finish last, you only have a 25.3% chance. Where we’re at right is about 9%. And I’m still convinced Bettman is gonna fix it for PHX to pay for their new arena.
In today’s world, humility is not something people pursue. It is a fruit of the Holy Spirit of Almighty God. It is essential in combatting the Sinful Pride and Selfishness that exist in our world today. Patrick Marleau could be prideful. He could be arrogant but he is not. I promise you that his faith in Jesus Christ is the reason for that. The world teaches arrogance, pride, self and personal “ rights.” God teaches live, Truth, humility and integrity.
