    Is it possible to have a 120v to supply it? Or it is too much for that? If it is too much, can i use batteries instead?

    • @muhammadramadan8249
      @muhammadramadan8249  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      first of all this motor is DC motor and you may talk about the AC source with 120 volt in your house, if you connect this motor with the house source it will make a problem (short circuit) because it is very small resistance with big voltage, or you may talk about DC supply with 120 volt actually it is very big and by the way there is a relation between the diameter of the wire and the range of current which is allowed to run in this wire if higher current passes it will cause heat and the isolation layer on the wires will be burnt and again we have a problem
      I used here a device that takes the AC 220 voltage from the house and turn it to DC voltage with ranges from 2 to 16 volt so using two batteries connected in series each one is 9 volt would be an available choice but it is not the best because the batteries will be empty within a short time.
      if you need any more explanations for this comment you can contact me on Facebook, thank you :)

      Muhammad Ramadan oh okay, look, i want to replicate your work cause i have this kind of activity in our school plus your work is so damn cool. Our prof said that we need to make a simple dc motor, and i searched some kind of stuffs and i saw yours, the problem is, what kind of source can i use for this kind of situation? (If the battery is not recommended) (i dont have that source you used in this video)

    • @muhammadramadan8249
      @muhammadramadan8249  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eijay Reyes first of all build your motor and after that you can go to any electronic store or electric devices shop and ask about a device called adapter or such a device takes the 120 AC voltage and turn it into 12 or 16 DC voltage I am sure you will find it, they are very popular, and if you don't find it you can make your own circuit with simple devices using transformer, diode, capacitor and resistor it is very simple you can search in the internet for the circuit diagram and the values of resistor and capacitor. But I am sure you will find an adapter in the nearest shop :) , any way the batteries are not a wrong choice they aren't the best choice because of the need of charge it if it is chargeable or buy new batteries. feel free to contact me if you need I will help you for free don't worry :)

      Good question but the volts will be too much for the wires to handle it will burnout but if u want the wire to handle that much volts is by tuning the wires to more bigger copper wire. Oh and the brushes will have to tuned too.

    hi we were wondering what voltage the battery was? and do u still have a materials list for this project?

    • @muhammadramadan8249
      @muhammadramadan8249  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was an adaptor with maybe 16 volt.
      But I think the current is an important factor so try using a 2 amp source with the same voltage.

    5:13 when you start winding the third coil with the second piece of wire you seem to begin the winding in one direction but then you start winding in the other direction. Can you explain this?

    • @muhammadramadan8249
      @muhammadramadan8249  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      First of all thank you for your comment, It is really an important point which need explanation, it is the same direction but during the winding I turned the motor to make the winding easy but unfortunately I CUT it in video editing because of the long duration so it seems like opposite direction but it is the same direction :) I hope it became clear now.

    It would be better when you take more position for the camera.
    And let someparts go fast if it takes long to do a thing or if it is easy to understand what you are doing.
    Then it would be better if you would take nasheeds in the background. And mabye talk in some parts or just a bit text.
    Also take good images for you videos to make it interesting.

    Will it work if the core is metal, instead of plastic?

    • @muhammadramadan8249
      @muhammadramadan8249  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure it will work but if this metal a ferromagnetic material (is attracted by the magnet) it will be better because the flux of the coils will be stronger but if it is not a ferromagnetic material it will work but without a remarkable benefit
      make sure that the core is isolated from the commutator and the wires :)

    are those magnets in the sides??

    • @muhammadramadan8249
      @muhammadramadan8249  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, with opposite poles (north against south) the magnets must attract each other if there is a repulsion between them it means you put the same poles against each other that's won't work so in this case turn one of the magnet

    • @sahiku5357
      @sahiku5357 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a 3 cm and a 7 cm round magnets which I took them from a stereo. Which one is useful
      And in which pole should I put it ?

    • @muhammadramadan8249
      @muhammadramadan8249  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have two options first you can use any one of them and you will put it at the bottom or in any side in this case the type of the pole doesn't matter or you can use both of them but in this case you need to put them as I made with the opposite poles in front of each other to check this make sure there is an attraction force between the two magnets.

    • @muhammadramadan8249

    • @muhammadramadan8249
      @muhammadramadan8249  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it was nearly 15 volt but it depends on the resistance of the coil itself for your case could be higher or lower voltage, but surely higher voltage is better to avoid the low torque issue.
