Whats interesting about that match is that South Africa couldn't put out their best back row. Some said Marcel Coetzee was the form player, others felt that Heinrich Brussow was the best fetcher to partner Alberts and Vermeulen. But both were left at home as Heyneke Meyer had to pick Siya Kolisi in order to fulfil the quotas. Arguably the two best players in their position left at home, weird situation.

Now that they are no1 , and crowned by the NH press as already WC champions, let’s see how they perform … NZ will come back, Oz will remain poor, and SA are silently building their depth and with their coaching staff and forward pack … I would hardly venture to make too much fuss until this “historic” win is backed up by a WC trophy

As for the rest, who cares, it's what turns up on the day.
If we get beat we get beat, if we win we will win.
But Ireland have been top twice in the last 3 years, they have a very good success rate against all team over the last year.
Does anyone in Ireland actually truly believe we will win the world cup, no, there isn't.
The NH media isn't calling them anything other than, peaked too early, can't take their foot off the gas, to rugbypass Matt Williams saying it's probably going to be another flop.
So in all honesty you've spouted a world salad while the thought of Ireland winning in NZ lives rent free in your head it seems.
It's only sport, things will change, everyone knows France are favourites with SA the close second and we know NZ on their day are unbeatable.
