Hi Deb! Thanks for the video! Could you give me an advice what equipment to buy for the start in recording. Obviously I have a laptop, also I deceided to purchase QX1204, what else do I need? Could I avoid buying of R24, H5 etc?
Why don’t you try just using the QX1204. It has USB interface though only Stereo two track recording. This would get you started and perhaps show you what direction you want to peruse. The standalone systems R20, R16, R24, are great for plug and play. The handhelds H5, H6, are convenient and easy to use. The DAW systems may take a little configuring to get it properly setup. I would stick with your QX1204, get it working, record for a bit and see what works for you.
Do you know if this mixer is the same feature for feature except for # of inputs as the QX 1222? I am going to use it for Native American Style flute with mic, looper pedal, tongue drum, guitar, keyboard, EWI. I definitely want it for the on-board effects. Trying to decide if this model that you have here is big enough for me. I know a guy that uses the QX 1222 with similar instruments. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Hi Deb! Thanks for the videos, they've been alot of help. I do screencasts and have the same mixer and it's been hell trying to find resources to use it. I wanted to ask you a question - Any mic I plug into Channel 2 works right side only. Channels 1,3,4 are stereo. Is my mixer broken?
Bill Tozzo first I would check cables. Does the mic with same cables work in other channels? Make sure the pan is set to center also make sure your outputs are selected correctly; the mains vs 3/4 vs control. See if it makes a difference switching the output 3/4 instead of main...check lines outputs. If all that fails I would contact Behringer. They have excellent customer service though you will have to mail it to them if they can’t trouble shoot on phone.
ANIMATIONS4ALL. Yes. I plugged the same mic and cable into 1,3 and 5. No problem. I checked everything else you mentioned as well. I guess Behringer it is. I just thought there may be some sort of setting or switch that I was missing. Thank you so much for the help.
Great video! I did have a question about this mixer as I am planning to purchase this. Does this mixer have the feature for direct monitoring while overdubbing tracks in Audacity? If so, how can I set it up? I am currently using the Xenyx Q502USB and in order for me to monitor directly was to do the RCA loop from input to output with the "To Phones" button pressed down, that way I am able to hear what I am recording as well as the playback from Audacity without any delay and without the playback being re-recorded to the mixer. With the usb you have in and out of only 2 tracks. But you will hear everything coming from computer. I have some older videos showing setup for usb on this. th-cam.com/video/THI0UgPULXo/w-d-xo.html
I have a question about the X1204USB. If I use the RCA aux in, I don"t get that qound in the headphone. I tried any combination of buttons next to the phone volume knob. Do you know if I shoud hear the aux in or not? Maby still a wrong setting or so

I would go with something you know works for what you’re wanting to use it for. The 1204 has 4 XLR inputs and has similar effects.

when connected as USB interface, what is sent to the PC? Is it the Main Out (L and R)? thanks! = )
You may want to check your manual for the schematic of outputs. But my assumption is that each output has its own wiring from a main?
A USB A to B cable is plugged in to the back of the mixer into a usb input of your computer

Try it. I don’t have this mixer anymore. If your looking for separate outputs you may want to look at the xenyx 1832 and up.

You can select one effect across all channels but each channel has effect knob to adjust intensity.
