    A definite favorite of mine. The tones and messages of Siemens are simply superior in my opinion. The messages are clear, and straight to the point, even in the more jagged male version lol. But I love Simplex too, my top favorites for fire equipment for sure, even though my company installs Notifier lol.

    Neat system. Seems pretty quiet, more pleasing to the ears than many other systems. I'll tell you, those pulls are a pain to reset, I own a few of them. Neat to hear the sync module clicking away at the end of the video.

      +msj191961 Yeah I'd like to meet the engineer who designed those pull stations and force him or her to reset a bunch of them while holding a camera or some other object in one hand several times. :D

      Gary Beltz maybe the engineers should make a key reset pull station.

      The video says Siemens MXL but it looks like XLS

    0:16 Penn Station has those white E70s (the ones there are Wheelock, these are rebranded as Siemens SET/SEF speakers). Every single one of the E70s, ceiling mount E90s, and the ceiling mount ETWPs in the tunnel all are labeled ALERT instead of FIRE, like in this video.

    • @alexgilbertaltchannel3524
      @alexgilbertaltchannel3524 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      trainerred206 I only see E70's I don't see E90s or ETWPs..

    • @trainerred2063
      @trainerred2063 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look for the E90s when you’re in an area with a lower ceiling (say near Dunkin’ Donuts), and the ETWPs on the train platforms.

  • @alexgilbertaltchannel3524
    @alexgilbertaltchannel3524 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Wow, very nice to see Wheelock E70's aka rebranded by Siemens are marked "ALERT"

    Those are the pull stations that are in my school. I think there nice, but the only thing I don't like about them is that they can be hard to reset sometimes. Anyways nice video!! :D

    This video reminds me of the video "Fire-Lite fire alarm voice evac system test" by Mr. Nick as it almost has the same exact beginning and end of the video (Fire Alarm Testing announcement at the beginning and the system reset at the end). It's reminds me of the video because this is the longest fire alarm inspection video on Mr. Nick's channel that's almost the same length as this video. In the video that Mr. Nick uploaded, it takes place at a Cinemark Movie Theater in El. Paso Texas
    Unfortunately the video: "Fire-Lite fire alarm voice evac" system test is now private permanently because his videos takes up too much his time and energy to keep up with a channel with content that seems to gravitate towards people like yourself. He's also no longer uploading any new videos
    The original video description for "Fire-Lite fire alarm voice evac system test" was "Another Cinemark! This one has the MS-9600UDLS coupled with the ECC-50/100 emergency command center"

    • @tor94
      @tor94  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that, his videos would have been interesting to watch, especially as I never had an opportunity to do any work at a movie theater. This video was taken at a combination church/office/school building near Chicago, Illinois.

    Why are the Wheelock ET-70's labeled as "ALERT." I thought all fire alarm devices had to be labeled as "FIRE." And for multi functional mass evacuation systems, NA's would have to labeled both "FIRE" and "ALERT" or have two separate NA's for each. Never seen a system like that before.

    • @tor94
      @tor94  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, for mass notification systems, ALERT labels are allowed. They assume the voice message will be understood by the occupants of the building. Some facilities do use a clear strobe for fire, and an amber strobe for alerts.

  • @CraigBaker96837
    @CraigBaker96837 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I forgot that Wheelock made custom speaker and speaker/strobe plates that were labelled "ALERT".
    Do they still make them?

    • @GaryBeltz
      @GaryBeltz 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Craig Baker I would think they do because Simplex now does it especially on a 4100ES system.

    • @CraigBaker96837
      @CraigBaker96837 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gary Beltz I know that Wheelock makes standalone mass notification devices (Exceder colored strobes, horn/strobes, and speaker/strobes, RSSP strobe plates, RSS colored strobes), but I was not quite sure about the plates.

  • @GaryBeltz
    @GaryBeltz 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    First fire alarm panel I've seen with a color screen built into it. I never knew this sound and voice were Siemmens I thought it was Wheelock I've heard this in other videoslock. Learn something new everyday. What speaker is that in the one starwell you were in? it was the one that DID NOT have a strobe. l

    • @tor94
      @tor94  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Gary Beltz They are wheelock AV devices. Generally, I have found siemens likes to cover the wheelock logo with their own. And the one in the stairwell is part of the wheelock E70/E90 series "low profile" speakers. www.cooperindustries.com/content/public/en/safety/notification/products/life_safety_notification/audible_visual_appliances/speakers/wheelock_series_e70wallmountspeakers.html

      +Lord Tourettes If you are referring to the horns then perhaps yes if you mean spakers it doesn't matter what brand you use it's all based on how the panel is programmed what tone and message are used.
