I love how there is a fire literally a couple feet from peoples own houses, but it takes a dude who has to ride a motorcycle over to do anything useful...
Cuz they get payed for it so why care if it all burns down u still getting payed. So yea thats how cops are too. Why dont i plant a drug here or a couple since theres nothing to arrest him/her for.
@Dylan N want me to send u a link to cops planting drugs on peoples cars ??? Or pulling a gun on them for asking a simple question of why they got stopped ? Cuz i can if u want me to.
@Dylan N someone had to say it. This dude was wearing riding gear that could catch on fire and burn his ass alive. Getting that close with just a hose. And im going to say it was all for the video. The views could have got him killed. He asks if theres propane like he even slightly understands how dangerous it could be if there was. He approached an unknown situation without any training on how to evaluate or handle it. Turns out firefighters are trained and prepared for these circumstances to prevent loss of life first and property second. Whats more important?
You definitely did a great job and should apply. Ironically my brakes on my gold wing caught fire after a line leaked on the rotor and i had it put out before 2 trailing deputies could catch up even. That's the day my life changed. Now im 23 with over a year in volunteer fire service here in GA. Thanks for helping out your community

The Kid Fig The second guy went to get a tool because in order to properly extinguish the fire you have to tear apart the involved areas to get to the hotspots.
That's the American way for firefighting. In a big house fire one of the tactics to put it out is to get a man on the roof with an axe to create a vent. Now I'm not a firefighter but I know that's dumb as shit. My dad is a UK firefighter and he says American and Canadian fire fighters get killed because of the way they put fires out, they just love a good axe. Like in this situation the axe isn't needed it doesn't need a vent it just needs a load of water. Also the way they drew hose was piss pour it had a shitload of kinks and wasn't efficient. But that's the standard of American firefighting unfortunately
gap! I mean they did try helping at first. But there was only one hose that could reach the inside of the fence. The poor older lady had an accent, so it’s likely she didn’t quite understand English to the extent to know the hose was kinked. The homeowner on the other hand, just sat back and decided it wasn’t his business. I would have kicked his ass if he would have smile at me and shook my hand, as if to say “we did a good job back there!”
Not really, insurance pays out bottom dollar on anything and everything. He would definitely be paying out of pocket to rebuild, insurance would only cover a portion of the damaged home.
Except the fire fighters deal with these kind of things everyday and realized it wasn't that big of a deal. It was a burn with a limited fual source well away from the house that was completely under control with no need to rush after they where there.
@@winningsince1992 True.... It wasn't a BIG deal, so there wasn't a mass reason to rush... But that was only because the biker kept the fire under control and wetted the grass so it couldn't catch on fire as well or the house. If he wasn't there, the fire probably would've made it to the house before the firefighters got there
The fact he did nearly as much work as the firefighters with no experience just kills me Edit: Thank you W. Mathew (the firefighter that did basically everything) For you're service.
Seems like the firefighters didn't have much experience either, except for the one who actually sprayed the fire. He did a great job, but his teammates had absolutely no idea how to un-kink a hose.
@Jens Nobel There is something different about the structure of American and European homes, we used to use fog nozzles like that, and the steam it created would help to put the fire out, but nowadays the structure is just different, different materials, etc. As for the doing nothing, for all we know there could have only been 3 guys on that truck and another engine was on the way, it should also be noted that the truck is a quint, meaning it has anywhere from 250 to 750 gallons of water.
@Jens Nobel Yeah, Americans are a little more traditional with firefighting, as for the fog nozzles you can still see them in use in airports, and with more GPM (Liters Per Minute for the Europeans) you can see a ton of brush trucks going with low flow, high pressure, hell, that's how our horse drawn steamers worked! As for the buildings we have standpipe systems to supply water all throughout the building. Onto the navy firefighting, off the top of my head military fire crews do help civilian fire crews and vice versa, a prime example of this is the Honolulu Fire Department back in 1941 in Pearl Harbor, specifically Hickam airfield, the entire air base fire crew was obliterated by planes and the HFD was the only department on scene due to the utter chaos that was in Honolulu, the 3 trucks and their crews that were sent got their rear ends kicked but they got the fire out using small hoses. Overall you are absolutely right, different standards, different trucks, etc. And I must say I do boast much respect for the firefighters across the pond.
I wanted to make this comment for future me and people who watched this lol. Three years ago, I saw this video when it first came out. As I watched, I thought to myself: “Man, that would be the coolest job. Responding to a fire like that and putting fires out.” I also thought: “I wished that was a profession.” (Not my brightest moment haha), but I then realized how amazing it would be to say I fought that fire and saved that house, or saved that person. Little would I know, that those thoughts would lead me to where I am now, I’m a volunteer firefighter in a small town, (which I can happily say I’ve fought a few fires) with goals to apply to a bigger city department one day. I don’t know who this biker is, but he likely will never know that he impacted someone so much, that it changed their whole life. To that I say thank you, this one video changed everything.
No Use firefighters know more about hoses than he does, unless he’s a hose expert. Not saying that he shouldn’t have helped with the fire, it’s just that people get the wrong idea when they see firefighters being slow or some shit. The main residence was not on fire so firefighters had no reason to hustle. Besides, hav you ever put on FULL Turnout gear plus an SCBA? you can run in that stuff, best I can do is a Fast jog and I might be one of the fittest guys on my department. My point is, don’t throw crap on firefighters because you know don’t know what they know. Be glad that they even showed up. Geez
DieselGamingHD I’m a firefighter so I can tell you how dumb you sound right now. He’s doing what’s called a scene size up which is basically painting a picture of what arriving units are going to expect. Don’t talk about shit you know nothing about and respect your fellow firefighters.
@@SparklingWater445 All that burned down was that tree house. The house itself took smoke and heat damage. My guess is they were running off their tank and haven't hooked up to a hydrant yet. The fire fighters were in the prep stage. These are paid or volunteer firefighters.

Besides, hav you ever put on FULL Turnout gear plus an SCBA? you can run in that stuff, best I can do is a Fast jog and I might be one of the fittest guys on my department.
