Great video, Jeff. I just did a test fit on the trunk lid of my 73 Mach 1, and discovered that the vise grips worked best, too. I still have to order and install the rear spoiler, so I will be watching this episode, again. Thanks for all you do.
Looks Faster already! A spoiler on the Mach 1s should've been standard equipment, without it, the back end of that car is sorely lacking. Good work, that was a much need improvement!
I put the rear spoiler and front air dam on a1971 Mustang Mach that I had, gave it a great look. Also installed the correct exhaust tips. You’ll be surprised when the car was sold, I made good money. To be honest the fit and finish of the 71 to 73 Mustangs left something to me desired. They did look good with all that bling. Bye the way the car was sent to Australia. They must love their Fords ! My 1970 Torino went to Australia to.
I know it doesn’t make it any faster but boy it looks cool 😎 BTW you’re not the only one who pushes three times with the center punch tool - I’m always worried that once isn’t enough 😋 Lastly great Patreon meeting last month - more folks should really check them out!!!
Another great video Jeff! Finally got the Galaxie 500 fastback to the house. Let the carnage begin. I do like the looks of these much more than the wings the SN95 Mustangs have. Wish there was one of this style that I could fit to my SN95. Much more aggressive looking.
Looking back when I had a 70 fastback between the louvers and the rear spoiler I couldn't see anything in the rear view mirror. I imagine a 71 through 73 is even harder to see out the back window. Not that I cared but the spoiler also caused drag and reduced mpg I'm sure. They do make the car look cool 😎! Superbird wing was the most awesome spoiler ever!
I have a 351 Cleveland 4V. It will pass anything but a gas station...😆 I honestly plan to install a backup camera on this car. Yes, we will do a video.
I stand 5'-6". For as long as the back glass is, from the rear view mirror it looks only 10"-12" in vertical height. Add to that the high bucket seats, my rear vision was horrible.
I regretted putting a spoiler on my '71. Rusty water dripped off of my ends and stained my fenders. I also never adjusted my tension rod because I didn't know to or how to.
The deck lid won't go on until it is painted. I should have made that more clear. I was busy trying to train three new camera people and shoot the show, mentioning that slipped through the cracks.
@@AutoRestoMod it is certainly not intended as a criticism. You do a really great job Jeff. I know there are a myriad of different subjects you have covered, and I have always been impressed with the time you out into the research to help your subscribers, nothing but respect sir.
Really, That rear end looks so "heavy" as it is. I like it better without the spoiler. Sometimes less is more. Just one man's opinon anyway. Still a gorgeous car!
It is all in the pedestals. The 1969-70 spoiler is taller. I've thought about doing a "things that you might not know on rear deck spoilers" soon. Just as a side video.

I personally wouldn't. But the Aussies put them on the 1970 XW Falcon and for some reason that looks cool to me 🤔 I might consider a short lip spoiler ala Stock Car Racing.
Thanks for the video. I'm waiting on the UPS truck to deliver mine from NPD today.

There is a ton of US iron going to Oz. The front spoiler is one I am considering. In a Mach, anything over 90 and the nose gets floaty.
@@AutoRestoMod Where are you driving 90?
Great videos! I agree that your car needed the spoiler. It looks complete now.
Yes it does!
Just love these videos, got to always give a like as I always learn something new, thanks again.
Glad to hear it!

In what direction does the spoiler go, or does it matter?
gday from Australia wow That,s going to look nice your drilling is spot on keep up the great work mate from Phill go the ford motor cars
Thanks 👍

Sorry you had a bad experience.
Looks great, one suggestion, some butyl, or silicone will help prevent future corrosion in the metal you just left bare when the holes were drilled.

I think as a sanity test, I would have also put the spoiler up next to the tape just to make sure it looked right before drilling.
LOL It fits perfect. The location is actually factory correct.
always nice to correct the wrongs of your youth :)
Always!

Fair enough! And I agree enough that I will have two deck lids. One with...one without.. LOL
@@AutoRestoMod Well, at that point you may as well have two MACH 1's :-)
Fun Bbbbuutt I think it’s on Backwards. 🙃
Spoiler will make it look much better
I agree!
The only thing that would make it worse, is if it was fresh out of paint. Been there, and after some intense counseling my nervous twitch went away.
It does take a minute to get rid of the twitch, what do I do about the Tourettes?
@@AutoRestoMod I don’t know, I still have it!!!!! 😂
i`ve got one on my 09 corolla .. when i built my 69 stang 20 years ago i ordered one and was sent two spoilers .. i kept the extra ..
Ok, that sounds fun!
Just curious, was the the 10 hp spoiler or the 30 hp spoiler. You didn't specify! lol
We got the 30 HP one. National Parts Depot offers stickers that will pull it to over 65, but I am worried about the tires...😆
My 69 Mach1 does not have this type of spring (my 69 is with spoiler)
How do I replace the springs in my 69?
The spoiler on the '69 used a prop rod.
nice
Thanks
What is the difference between a 69-70&71-73 rear spoiler
It is all in the pedestals. The 1969-70 spoiler is taller. I've thought about doing a "things that you might not know on rear deck spoilers" soon. Just as a side video.
Why are you guessing if you said it comes with detailed instructions? Just a question
Assembly of the spoiler, not the mounting on the car.
A spoiler on a Stang, there's noting better.....
Agreed!

How will a GT spoiler look on Classic Mustang?
Is all about personal taste my friend.
@@AutoRestoMod Thank you
No money shot? What's this look like?
yeh, seems like we're the only ones. what did everyone else just watch?
I apologize for not putting that in the video.
How to install a spoiler.
What would you think about one of these on a 66’ Fairlane HT?
I personally wouldn't. But the Aussies put them on the 1970 XW Falcon and for some reason that looks cool to me 🤔 I might consider a short lip spoiler ala Stock Car Racing.
@@AutoRestoMod those Australian Falcons are what got me thinking about it.
Thanks for the reply
What is the spoiler material made out of?
ABS plastic filled with foam. This mimics the process used on new car rear spoilers. Light and strong.
Anyone know of this style spoiler for a 66 stang??
Not that I know of.
Camera operator didn't do a very good job. How about pointing the camera at what you're actually doing so we can see it?
I have three new operators so I'm working on them. Sorry that you didn't like the video.
