Keep this in mind, if you have a cookie cutter that has accidentally been bent out of shape and you try to bend it back in to shape, it will never be perfect. So cookies made by that cookie cutter won't be perfect. We are looking for "perfection" in politics. Which will, since humans today are flawed, never happen. Only Jesus can do that. Until then, don't look to people as the solution, only look to the Bible as THE guidance and solution.
When I was young, there were Republicans who were economically conservative but culturally progressive. We called them Rockefeller Republicans. Trump, and his first term, played to a base that was conservative, and included pop Christianity, especially Word of Faith and NAR. This time, Trump removed many conservative goals from his platform and moved several stances significantly to the left. Trump has become a Rockefeller Republican. As usual, I find myself holding my nose and voting for the candidate who will do the least damage. That do many Christians support Trump so enthusiastically says a lot about how bad the alternative is. It also says a lot about how little people are paying attention to the issues.
So, a former lady of the night can't change her mind and begin to walk a better path that will hopefully lead her to Jesus? Would you say the same thing to Mary Mageline? As a Christian, I am voting for a President, not a religious figure. In the ungodly world of politics, I am not naive enough to assume that Donald Trump, or any other candidate, is born again. (But I do pray for their salvation.) I vote for the candidate who I believe will more closely protect the values and freedoms of this country. So just a disclaimer… I’m not American and have no dog in the fight. However, I’ve watched in amazement, quite frankly, at how over the past 8 years Trump has managed to mobilize a following with a loyalty that I’ve never witnessed in my lifetime. It seems no accusation is too egregious and no statement too crass or uncouth.
When you follow Christ, conservative life comes naturally, however. When you're conservative, you're not always a Christian. Big difference and all you have to think about is the original people did not subscribe to conservativism. It was given to live a certain way and thousands of years later someone labeled it.

It's mainly because of the archeology, "friendly" writers, and "hostile" writers mentioned above that the Jesus Seminar, who are PhD level ashiest/agnostics who study Christ and the Bible, concluded that Jesus really lived in Judea 2,000 years ago, was known as a miracle workers, died on the cross under Pilate, and that his disciples really believed they had seen him risen from the dead. The fact that there are contradictions between manuscripts is often sited as proof against trusting scripture, when it actually does the opposite. The fact that there are so many manuscripts makes it easy to tell when someone changed one, and modern Bibles are transparent about any differences in the footnotes. Over 5,000 manuscripts in the original Greek and 20,000 in other lanuages. None of those differences found between manuscripts change anything about any core doctrines of Christianity, they are mainly a handwriting error on a letter or a different way to word something that means the same thing. There is 99.5% accuracy between the manuscripts according to scholars. There is also all the undisigned coincidence between not only the four Gospels, but the rest of the New and Old Testaments too. Josephus, the Jewish historian, tells us about the things Archelaus did and how evil he was. Put these two peices of evidence together, we get the full picture. This sort of thing happens through the text with the seemingly useless details matching up perfectly with extra Biblical sources, lending to the credibility of the text. The Apostles willingness to be killed not for saying they believed Jesus had risen, but they knew he had risen, because they saw him. If the tomb wasn't empty, they would've paraded the body around to stomp out any idea of Jesus being ressurrected, but Christianty spread because there was no body in the tomb. If someone stole the body, why were nearly all the Apostles willing to be killed for saying they'd seen Jesus risen? They were thousands of miles away from one another before phones and the internet and were being threaten, tortured, and murdered for their claim. Not one "broke" and said it was a lie to save themselves. It's because of the evidence that I believe in Jesus.

Totally agree, I see so many Christian’s “worshipping’ DT from back in 2016. I do support him politically and while I did not vote for him in 2016, I did so in 2020 and will do so in 2024. When you start hanging out with a certain group of people you start to align your interests and beliefs with that group. If that group pushes you away then you start to revert back to what you believed in and become rebellious against those beliefs. When I was young, there were Republicans who were economically conservative but culturally progressive. We called them Rockefeller Republicans.
Trump, and his first term, played to a base that was conservative, and included pop Christianity, especially Word of Faith and NAR.

We have the writing of the disciples of the Apostles and the disciples of those disciples, and they not only quote much of the New Testament, but all the core idea of Christianty are present. Jesus being God, the Son of God, dying for sins, burial, resurrection, ascension to heaven.
We also have writing of Jewish and Pagan contemporary historians who were hostile towards Jesus, who say the same things : Jesus being worshipped as God, the Son of God, dying for on the cross, burial, resurrection.
The archeology matches the Bible perfectly all the way from Genesis through the New Testament.
It's mainly because of the archeology, "friendly" writers, and "hostile" writers mentioned above that the Jesus Seminar, who are PhD level ashiest/agnostics who study Christ and the Bible, concluded that Jesus really lived in Judea 2,000 years ago, was known as a miracle workers, died on the cross under Pilate, and that his disciples really believed they had seen him risen from the dead.
The fact that there are contradictions between manuscripts is often sited as proof against trusting scripture, when it actually does the opposite. The fact that there are so many manuscripts makes it easy to tell when someone changed one, and modern Bibles are transparent about any differences in the footnotes. Over 5,000 manuscripts in the original Greek and 20,000 in other lanuages. None of those differences found between manuscripts change anything about any core doctrines of Christianity, they are mainly a handwriting error on a letter or a different way to word something that means the same thing. There is 99.5% accuracy between the manuscripts according to scholars.
There is also all the undisigned coincidence between not only the four Gospels, but the rest of the New and Old Testaments too.
Matthew 2:22 talks about Joseph not wanting to return to Judea after fleeing to Egypt because Archelaus was ruling. That's all the info on that the Bible gives. Josephus, the Jewish historian, tells us about the things Archelaus did and how evil he was. Put these two peices of evidence together, we get the full picture.

If the tomb wasn't empty, they would've paraded the body around to stomp out any idea of Jesus being ressurrected, but Christianty spread because there was no body in the tomb.
If someone stole the body, why were nearly all the Apostles willing to be killed for saying they'd seen Jesus risen? They were thousands of miles away from one another before phones and the internet and were being threaten, tortured, and murdered for their claim. Not one "broke" and said it was a lie to save themselves.

I thought the Republican Party was a political party…not a Christian organization. I am a conservative who is an orthodox reformed Baptist who knowns literally nothing about the young lady. I’m also almost 76 and have been married to my husband for 54 years….with no tattoos (ha). I took her speech at face value and appreciate her ability to say she was wrong, something that’s difficult for many people to admit. I also thought she was very pretty in an weird way.
People seem to think they are synonymous. They are simple minded people. Amber is likely associating with being republican more than being conservative.

That’s because you’re old. This is guaranteed to drag the party left socially and morally especially among younger voters. There’s a reason the RNC no longer has a Pro-Life or Pro-Marriage platform and it’s not coming back after Trump. If all you care about is short term political victory then AR is great. If you care about the moral compass of the party and country AR is a step in the wrong direction. There are plenty of other people who changed their mind about Trump who were not actively pushing the culture into deeper and deeper sin.

I thought it was weird too. Trump is more of a classic liberal. I like the guy a lot, but that doesn't mean I support everything he does. The union guy and Amber Rose felt weird at the RNC. At the end of the day, the political parties are like creatures which must compete to survive. They will evolve to fit the times.
There is no party which really appeals to me. My values really do not change.
He honesty doesn’t even seem like he’s a Christian. He likely was raised Christian but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is a closet atheist. He seems like he is a republican when it comes to being a patriot for America and keeping the rich rich because he is wealthy. I do not get the vibe he pray and go to church.
