I've said this for a while now but Melissa Barrera is a star. She manages to leave a mark without the need to be showy. She has a down to earth calming presence that's mesmerizing to watch. I love that we got to see her be very vulnerable and real in this interview.

In regards to Melissa's comments on being in an open and collaborative environment, as a filmmaker myself, I always told my cast and crew that I haven't thought of every great idea in the world, and I'm always open to collaboration and tweaking bits of the script to improve the story or re-work a scene to make it flow better in execution. They are there to help make the best film we possible can, and they are creative people as well. So, we work as a team to find solutions and refine what's on the page.

Also congrats on the questions, really good ones, it's so good to see an ACTUAL interview besides the normal common questions, in a certain way you have to challenge the guest, make him think, and make him feel comfortable to be able to talk more and be more open to share new insights about the industry,. I loved this interview.

The funny thing about this interview is that her agent and her publicist told her what to say . She is so green about the entertainment industry , I love when she says about the politics and there a lot of new filmmaker out there but her knowledge about cinema and studio politics . I love to see her work with Oscar winning cast and directors.
I’ve noticed that at least in ONE interview per movie/show Melissa does, she starts to lose her voice & gets raspy - but I’ve noticed she’s also more OPEN!
Melissa is perfect!! In all senses, is a great actress and person. The Scream franchise deserves great problems in the future after the owner's acts. They lost the best character and maybe actress of their history because of persecution.
Melissa saying that she was only contracted for 2 movies. But her plan was a trilogy just goes to show that it was a maybe for her to come back or in my opinion she’s just defending the hate that Neve Campbell was getting. Even tho they don’t follow each other anymore
Those scream questions were awkward from both sides. Melissa was contracted for 2 movies and was signed up for 7 so it wasn’t like she wasn’t coming back.
I think from Melissa’s perspective, I could understand wanting to move on and not be stuck in the cycle of grief from losing that role. Nevertheless, that POV unfortunately makes people feel like it’s justified that the Scream franchise is continuing without her, when it’s really not. She was wrongfully fired and her own acceptance of that doesn’t make that more okay imo.
So, Melissa Barrera was fired from Scream VII, even though she had not been contracted to appear in it? That makes less than no sense. Something is very strange here.
I think there were in the middle of negotiations to renew her contract for the 3rd movie but was let go because of everything so Jenna ended up backing out too
@@edwinsaavedra7860 exactly people don't get just because there are plans and talks doesn't mean it's official with contracts. Obviously it was a firing since it's a running franchise with a character shes playing. Deff hinting at a bigger arc. But like she said, she did what she signed up for eventually.
