How to build a wooden gate! DIY

  • I built this gate on the side of my house, because I was tired of my dogs using this side of the house as a bathroom. Walking to the trash cans at night became a game of luck. This side of the house also has the back door access from my garage and it is nice to be able to leave the door open while I am working on a project and not have to worry about the dogs escaping. This project can be scaled up to a full size gate, I just made it small for my dogs. Hope you Enjoy!!

    Would've been better if you had shown how to measure the length of the door pieces to allow room for the hinges and the tiny gap in between both doors

    The purpose of people watching these videos is to get step by step instructions. NOT just see YOU build a fence. This was a WADTE OF MY TIME.

      Not exactly. Some of us a little more inclined & just need some ideas/inspiration. Variety is good. Not every video needs to be a complete step
      By step breakdown. Although if you keep searching on TH-cam, you’ll usually find what your looking for

    Don’t drill with pressure while you hold the plank down with your other hand, lay the plant against a wall and then drill that thing slips and now you got a nice hole through your hand

    Don't know if you are still checking comments but just in case. I bought the same Kreg Jig. OMG it makes toenailing so much easier. My only question was the size. I first tried cutting my 2 x 4's in half and the gate seemed a bit large so I'm cutting them down. Looking at the fuzzy video it might be you trimmed at 39.5 inches giving a 42 (3-1/2 foot) inch length. Is that correct?
    thank you

    Cool montage? But how do you build a gate? I learned more about carpentry by watching Sylvester Stallone rub around on the beach in Rocky

    This is not a "how-to" video. All you did was film an edited version of you building it, not an instructional video.

    If this isn't the most useless "how-to" video I don't know what is lol. You don't tell anyone the measurements you used, or anything. My god man.

      Measurement will
      Never be the same between what u doing and him is a good idea for you to do it but unless u doing same space measurements would be useless

  • @whistlingtony
    @whistlingtony 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This isn't "How To". You don't explain anything. This is just watching you work and listening to, frankly, dumb music. I'd much rather have explanations. Most people don't know what a Kreg Jig is, and half the people that do don't know how to use them correctly. This is a lot of missed opportunity for actual education.
