I have a theory that 95% of people who buy eyeshadow palettes waste their money due to never using them. I can’t even remember the last time I saw anybody wearing colorful eyeshadow in real life. I only see employees in makeup stores wearing colorful eyeshadow.
I’m older so I still love eyeshadow. But even I now sometimes don’t wear any. I was down to one palette of brighter beautiful MAC colors and then couldn’t resist a Dior Backstage.
I honestly have a whole bunch of eyeshadow palettes and I guess I'm one of the very few people who has actually had to replace a couple of them for running out, not of a few shades in them, but all of them. I love wearing lots of colorful and glittery eyeshadow looks and I also do cosplay (including the mad hatter from alice in wonderland) which explains my excessive use of it XD but I do really love having a lot of options and I force myself out of my comfort zone a lot by telling myself I won't get a new palette until one runs out which forces me to use shades I usually wouldn't. But I'm also very particularly about buying new ones, checking if I'd really be able to use every shade
I actually remember only seeing a tv presenter on a late night show wearing a bright pink gown with a really bright pink eyeshadow. This was a very glitzy show and there was the one time someone needed a pink eyeshadow. Hers was done by a pro makeup artist lol.
I used to have the same struggle with eyeshadow palettes. That's why you should know what colors and finishes you used the most and THEN, buying a palette either with just those colors, OR making your own palette with few shades (I recommend Sydney Grace shadows, they're talc free). Makeup is very personal, and once you start your journey, you really need to observe what products you used up and make sure to buy something similar that gets you excited whenever you put it on.
This!! I think if you’re new to makeup getting a palette with a lot of colors is a good idea, because you can experiment, but once you know what you’ll wear, buying singles and making your own palette makes more sense!
Aw yeah I have too many eyeshadows as well. The pre-pandemic beauty community has caused so much over consumption. Now we've been having that problem with skincare, but I think more people are becoming conscious and not buying into hype as much

oh gosh i have the same problem with eyeshadow palettes!! idk why i bought it when i prefer tints as well 😅 after disposing expired and old palettes, i got a nyx ultimate palette. it's cheap and has all the shades i need. i love my blues and purples, but i never wear them because i prefer "natural-looking" make-up. i'll buy a single pot or a mini palette when i NEED vibrant colours or shimmers 😅
when it comes to reviewing makeup products, i really appreciate it when influences/reviewers mention their skin type. i once bought a cushion foundation on impulse, but i didn't know it was meant for the dry girlies. oh well, it might be my fault for not reading more about it 😅
That legit looks like the original Naked palette lol. I stopped buying eyeshadow a couple years ago as well. I realized I buy them cause they’re pretty but don’t use them.
My gosh, I bought the Elf camo concealer once bc I ran out of my usual Nars and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Never again. That elf concealer was like PAINT. Feel the same about the eyeshadow palettes. Started with a MAC quad that was fine - just enough colors! Then got upsold the hot new thing at a counter, with over 10 colors. Regretted it. Only used 3-4 of them. Then I regressed to a Laura Mercier stick or putting my blush on my lid. Works fine most of the time (work and occasionally dinner). And don’t get me started on the dupes. Life’s too short them. I try to use less, but use better.

For me personally the elf camo concealer is a dupe for shape tape and so much cheaper. For the it cosmetics and elf cc cream i switch off they both work great for me. The only thing is the it cosmetics lasts longer since i have oily skin but i use the matte one. For the price i think elf is amazing.
I feel like we just gaslight each other into thinking they’re good dupes so we think we’re getting a steal 💀 tbf I love the ELF original putty primer, but I have no idea if it’s comparable to the Tatcha primer, and I probably never will 🤷🏻♀️😂
The Elf halo glow is actually a dupe though, the Charlotte tilbury one was my go to until I tried the elf and didn’t notice any difference 😅 plus the CT one tends to go off under a year, it starts to smell bad. I’ve bought 2 so far and they both went off before I finished them.
Same I bought only one eyeshadow kit, and I barely use it. What I use is a blush, brighten highlighter powder kit, and I honestly just use the blush as my eyeshadow then add the highlighter on top of it for special occasions. The eyeshadow kit is only used to basically test out new looks or colors but it all feels too intense or some looks just end up hidden in my eye crease, except for maybe 3 colors the rest doesn't suit my skin color or is wayy too intense. Either way it's not something I actually use and for the price I paid really wasn't worth the product. However I probably would just buy tge same 3 in 1 highlighter, blush, etc. pallette, since I basically use that everyday, and that actually suits my skin color without making it look too ashy or intense.
I have a drawer full of Chanel, Dior, Chantecaille etc and I tell no one because I get shamed for spending money on those products but I do feel like overall there’s a better quality with the higher end products. 😅
i find higher end brands are better with muted colors which work better for my skintone. Cheaper makeup tends to look clownish on me because they're so brightly colored.
I hate that it cosmetics it looks so greasy on my oily skin Now I use clinique anri blemish, and now I have to use concelear and correct the blue so I use the one of Make up forever and the brow gel in color and eyelinees. Really like that brand. Of Make up palettes I regret Glam of Natasha Denona, Retro or Bronze would suited me better, I am cool tone and cool tones eventhou I have hazel eyes never preform smokey brown taupey to lily and greyish tones like on J.Lo, Leah Remini and I got it was the skin tone thing. So, I do regret not so much but still. Now I am buying only minis, last of YSL Clutch loved them, before basic nude of CT and before I had two Denona minis, and I still keep my Modern Renaissanse. But yeah, I should find few good eye sticks and that would be it for me, and Makeup liners and mascara. I am not into stong shades only pop of red soemtomes to bring green in my eyes but this is rare when I wear blue tones, and lips and cheeks in some berry darker tone to. A bit of snowhitey blush with matching red lips and nails and some shades of red on eyes. Other days it is all shades of nude, rosey nude, orange to beige. And only on weekends I use some wet toppers and that's it. And ofc all my lip products always go bcs you eat, drink and talk so my faves now are light pink(literally my lip color) and nude clarins oils, (after lunch and when the working day is up to end or if I have something just casusally coffee or something) fenty glosses only if it is the occasion and for everyday Rhode lip treatment or Summer Fridays. I keep it minimal. And eyes too, brows liner upper half, mascara (only up) nude pencil down,ad something orane or brown or bronzer or burgundy into my crease. That nude I put also to the inner conner. That's it. Concelear, foundation, blush (well if I use orange blush then a lighter bronzer ) and sometimes highligter. But I must set my T zone and unfer the eyes. And then fix. Everyone has oily eyelids even if your skin is dry. Primer- milani has a good one I have heard and Fenty. But you can with the concelear and later setting "prime" also. I don't know enough and I also don't even have tome to check my makeup while at work, but I do notice color breaking and if ir is color from ND Glam I don't mind bcs cool brown tones looks bad on me and grey as transition shade also wasn't the hit. But before in my 20s, I could go without setting, and concelear, like no problem at all. The brows, and eyeleiner and mascara were the thing and even then only half of the line with the black eyeliner. And some gentle blush and lip treatment and that was it.
Every time I buy a dupe i'm like wth I only wasted more money cause this product sucks. Once you go high end, you realise how bad the highstreet stuff is. Thought of saving money by getting the L'Oreal BB after over 5 years of Estee Lauder Double Wear and am shocked of how bad my skin looks with it. It's thin, emphasizes my pores, it gets oily fast, and doesnt match my skintone well. And it smells bad too!
Ladies, stop with the makeup, seriously. Not only is it a waste of money, but it doesn't look good, no matter how good you are at doing it. It makes your face look oily, or look like velcro if you don't shave everyday. If you have to, just stick with eyeliner and mascara because nobody except other makeup addicts can tell if you're wearing makeup. It's the same with shoes for guys. They'll spend a ton of money on expensive sneakers, and nobody even knows what they are except for other sneaker guys.
How about you do you and let women that make the effort to be the best they can be do them. I’m sick of people telling women to be grey and to stop wearing makeup. If you find that attractive great. Have at it.
@LinA-it9vd my point is you don't have to participate in this pointless money wasting rat race of trying to look perfect and youthful forever. It's just a scam. Look at how many different makeup products go viral, and end up being not that good. Every social media personality who tries the new hot makeup product, ends up just saying how it didn't live up to the hype like this woman said. And that's the scam of it. All these companies who make these products just want you to buy it, and hope the next one will better, because by the time you buy it, they won and they don't care about what you think of it. This goes for skin care products as well. If you fix the core problem of cleaning up your diet, and getting enough sunlight, and sleeping 8 hours, alot of your skin problems will fix themselves. That's all that these products do is cover up the core problems people aren't willing to address even though they know the problems, because they want to have their cake and eat it too. And that, is why makeup doesn't look good because you can't cover up a bad lifestyle, it still shows through your mask you put on every day.

The worst bb cream I ever used was tarte
I hate that it cosmetics it looks so greasy on my oily skin
Now I use clinique anri blemish, and now I have to use concelear and correct the blue so I use the one of Make up forever and the brow gel in color and eyelinees.
I wish all makeup and skin care was cruelty free.
Does having oily eyelids keep you looking younger, longer?
Really? I love the E.L.F. foundation, the coverage is great! To each his own I guess.🙂
The elf CC cream is literally the worst face product I ever bought. It looked, felt and smelled like acrylic paint. The undertone was terrible.
What was the last product, the one regretted not buying the full size off? 🤗
It’s the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder! I love it so much 😍
It’s the Charlotte Tilbury pressed powder!
Thank you! ❤️
What was the last thing she showed?
It’s the Charlotte tilbury setting powder
@@viys3261 thank you so much!!
That elf one was soooooooo bad😂
We get it you have money
If those are the elf concealers, they do suck. So dry
If you’re looking at that picture 😂and everything else
Every time I buy a dupe i'm like wth I only wasted more money cause this product sucks. Once you go high end, you realise how bad the highstreet stuff is. Thought of saving money by getting the L'Oreal BB after over 5 years of Estee Lauder Double Wear and am shocked of how bad my skin looks with it. It's thin, emphasizes my pores, it gets oily fast, and doesnt match my skintone well. And it smells bad too!
Looking at my elf concealers 🫢
… they do stink 😥
You need to mirror the video gurl
I mean you didn’t really say what make ups they were
These sound like a you problem babe
Respectfully disagree
Can we put an end to dupe culture… just like people who interchange luxury for designer… not the same ideas at all.
You are being very dramatic, toxic waste???? Stop it……
Your channel is literally you whining and complaining 😂
