      truly,
a dedicated desktop... (hopefully the specs get beefier over time) for at least screen real estate work loads
then its sharable like a laptop.
these mid tier devices are interesting
      full size destops
      portable laptops
and smart phones with apps what allow for shoping, banking, and social media.
      now these intermediary devices:
tablets (mobile OS but more real estate)
phablets (oversized phones for better media consumption)
idk, this device is a portable desktop
which the HP spectre foldable also is in a similar niche (14" latop yet unfolds to a 17 " portable desktop)
      I just love tech!
i hope this niche gets lots of love because i can see this as a great hybid for families who want BOTH worlds laptop portability yet Desktop real estate.
due to the thicker body, it just needs the bang for buck specs that desktops can get. and unlike net books and chrome books, this can have ALL the apps of windows OS rather than a striped down device.

I have an HP All-in-One 24-dp0160 that I use as my daily driver and local server, and love the heck out of it! What you reviewed here takes it to the next level, thanks so much for the in-depth look. For those trying to understand a use case, I set up a tent in my backyard and worked outside as much of the summer as I could, but I had to use my laptop for that. If I could just pick up my regular machine and bring it with me outside or to another room, what more could I ask for?
Oh, I know... a left handed mouse! Not even an option for additional $$$ HP? Come on! But anyway, I prefer my own clicky keyboard and trackball mouse, so not that big of a deal; I'd just keep the included keyboard/touchpad as backup in the pocket.
This is definitely the best innovation in design and usability I've seen in a long time, and I really love that it can also turn into an external monitor for another device so it doesn't just become e-waste at some point. I hope it (or its descendant) still exists in a few years when I need a replacement because I would definitely buy.

Very interesting, innovative product with the HP Envy Move 23.8-in All-In-One and a first for HP. I like the portability of the touch-screen with the carry handle which you can take from room to room or with you away from home as well as the screen cover. I also like how you can tuck the keyboard in the back of the monitor. The quality of the webcam with the special effects, internal mics and speaker audio are all great! Also, it’s not an expensive product which is worth your consideration. Brilliant review Andrew!! 👍😀

This would be exactly how I would want a laptop to work. No redundant keyboard no one uses or folding.

As a pro-user/developer I found this product very interesting. Looking to go mobile one of the biggest concerns are quiet machine + screen size. Working in only office spaces and not on the go (on the go you can handle e-mails on your phone) this could actually let me be "mobile" and still have a good workstation. But the ports seems a little limited, there is no extra display output to hook on a secondary display?

    • @Veg-Power

This is such an amazing concept, the Dell M2010 was its great grandfather. But a CPU w/ only 2 performance cores is a dealbreaker for me. Would love to TOTALLY ditch my laptop for this, but it needs 16:10, at least 6 perf cores, and ideally you'd engineer the power brick *into* the case so it just had a cord that pulled out ( retractable ) from the case itself, no brick to carry ( by all means make the computer itself larger and heavier, a 27" screen or bigger would be great )
Last wishlist feature, for taller people like me, having the screen be able to articulate to be taller would be a game changer as well. Laptops are THE WORST for tall people or people w/ tall torsos, there is just no such thing as good ergonomics if the screen is pinned to the surface way below you

This is a nice laptop that is made to not sit on your lap. Port selection is good although there is no sd card slot. Display is good. Camera was good and mics were fair ( a little muffled). Speakers were very good. Portability is good for this kind of device. Keyboard is not great for working on Excel spreadsheets. The one beauty of this is since this is a bluetooth keyboard one could choose any third party bluetooth keyboard and mouse as an alternative. Great flexability on this. One question is, does this have any user upgradeability? Like the ability to use as an external monitor. Great review.
