Yesterday, i skipped my breakfast while going to bangalore to mahadeshwara betta in the morning my wife asked tiffin in ramnagar, their was many hotel but not as good as this, i took u turn in ramnagar signal my wife shocked why u are going return and she was very angry, and after breakfast she was very happy, i am a driver when ever i come in this route i will stop here and inform to customers this hotel idli is best and on the way u cannot get anywhere, upto now no negative comments from customers for me, so thanks to hotel owner for maintaining the quality of food especially thatte idli ❤

We had thatte idly and Masala Dose, coffee last week at this place. Taste was very good. And service was also so good. The butter on that idly was the hero.
30 years back, we also used yellow boiled rice, now a days we switched to Salem idli rice. Thanks for sharing your receipes. But one problem is good urud dal is not available in local provision stores. Only available in 25 kg bags
I also use 1:4, Urad: parboiled Rice proportion. I use Parboiled rice because, where I live, it's very much cheaper than salem rice or rice rawa. It comes out very well. But I soak Parboiled rice for 2 days since I use mixer. When using wet grinder, soaking it for 5 to 6 hrs is fine I guess. Also, in the night use rock salt, because Iodine in powder salt will not let the batter ferment properly. My grandma told this to me when I was a kid.
@@umsxyz I live in Germany. Here due to cold weather, fermentation takes atleast 24 hrs. So I add Fenugreek seeds and poha to speed up the fermentation. Idli, that I made were soft for atleast 1 hr and then the idlis weren't there.. if you think of packing for tiffin, I guess it'll work.
@@anithap9088 idli rice is short round grain rice. It has more starch. Kolam rice is I think brand name. Parboiled rice is Kusubulakki in Kannada. It's boiled along with husk and then then hulled. Has more vitamin B from the husk. But very tough to grind to a smooth consistency.
