The remake sounds awful but why couldn’t they ever do a new one where Kevin is the father and has some type of argument with his kid and accidentally leaves him or her alone. The wet/sticky bandits return and possibly some of the original cast. Somehow Kevin finds out that the bandits are back and even though a lot older he realizes they are still dangerous and tries to get back home to his kid before they do. There could even be a few flashbacks to the first two movies as well. Obviously we will never see a movie like this but I think it would be better than home sweet home alone.

What I like in this one is that they make a joke about how Sequel, Prequals, and Re-boots can be bad and ruin the original film. Which they demonstrated perfectly.
Aside from from the obvious nods and references to the original two Home Alone films, I believe there is another one that not many people even thought to pick up on. I believe this to be a very big stretch since this is only a theory and not something officially confirmed, but I believe the character of Pam McKenzie played by Ellie Kemper to be the adult grown up granddaughter of Old Man Marley from the first film. Both are red heads, Pam's daughter sings in the church choir just like her mother would've as a little girl as shown in the church scene in the first Home Alone film when Marley and Kevin were talking to each other. Marley's granddaughter and Pam would be around the same age, Pam is very family oriented and Christmas seemed like a special time for her. A wiki has the granddaughter from Home Alone named as "Madison Marley", but that's not actually official because she was nameless in the actual Home Alone script/movie. Also, very little is known about Pam's side of the family in Home Sweet Home Alone as her husband Jeff's brother and his family are the ones who visit and spend Christmas with the McKenzies. So anything is possible. Some would probably think this is messed up since it would make Marley's granddaughter 'bad', but the recent movie seemed to really give the impression that Pam and Jeff aren't really bad people and that the whole plot of the film is the result of a misunderstanding that eventually gets resolved. While the film isn't exactly great, the references and nods to the first two movies, and some potential theories like the one I just shared are a plus at least.
I was horrified to realize that Max used the toy from the couple's son to fight the couple. How sick is that, and even he thought he was the child in need... where is Christmas spirit of giving out love and care for others?

I understand that the developers behind this movie want to capitalize on Home Alone and Home Alone 2, not just remaking Home Alone movie but by including Easter eggs including cameo of Buzz McCallister (as an adult police) and McCallister home security sign. But while the movie can be divisive, the movie itself should have added actual villains. And no not the Mackenzies because while they did break into Max’s house they aren’t actual criminals and mistakenly though their doll or property is in Max’s house unlike Harry and Marv from Home Alone and Home Alone 2 who tries to get a revenge from Kevin and actually steals things or good. They at least should have added actual criminals/villains at the end, who are also trying to break in to get the doll just so that they can sell it for a high cash and steal some other items, and no they don’t have to be Harry and Marv. Besides that the traps on Home Sweet Home Alone are similar to Home Alone and Home Alone 2, the traps were entertaining just like the previous movies, as the best moment from Home Alone franchise
It does have some redeemable qualities and it does have a warm Christmassy feeling like the first one. But I think the whole plot being based on a misunderstanding and making down-on-their-luck parents the criminals wasn't the right way to remake the original. The kid is an entitled jerk and learns nothing. If they intended to remix the original by doing the opposite of what original did then they succeeded, but I don't know if that's what they should've done. But honestly at this point what more could be done, so any sequel in this franchise is bound to fail.

You forgot the fact how buzz exists just like in HA and HA2
Its quite Ironic when the motto is *Holiday Classics Where Meant to be broken*
Well....
We all try to forget about 3, 4, 5, 6,
It is not good as originals but at least they put so many references to original movies
People keep copying Home alone, but always fails, WE👏🏻LOVE👏🏻HOME👏🏻ALONE👏🏻ORIGINAL👏🏻!! Like copying every good part of the Original movies (Home alone 1 and 2) we will like this movie better, naah. I don't think so.
I kinda liked home alone 3 but home alone 4 5 and 6 can commit Lego step
Not copying because the same
Early on in 6 they get pizza from Little Nero’s Pizza which, of course, appears several times in the original.
These aren't all easter eggs, it is a reboot/remake after all, so some things were bound to be the same. The mon wearing a brown overcoat is not a callback to the original. lol
Has anybody noticed that when max was sitting at the table with the pile of M&Ms that was a scarface reference
The cookie and milk trap was from home alone 3
But also.. that fear of older people is the lead witch in hocus pocus.
