I liked the group of Compo, Foggy, and Clegg, along with Nora Batty, and Big Ivy. They made the Sunday evening something to see. Nora and Compo were a real partnership though, and it would not have worked without them.
Compo and Nora - the dynamic duo of grumpiness and hilarity. They were a reminder that you don't need fancy special effects or high-tech gadgets to create side-splitting comedy. Just a rusty old bike, a snarky neighbor, and a dash of eccentricity. But let's be real, in today's world where everyone is obsessed with being cool and trendy, it's hard to find a show that captures the essence of pure, unadulterated silliness. Nowadays, it's all about flashy visuals and complex plot lines. So, cheers to Compo and Nora, for showing us that laughter is truly the best medicine, and that the simplest things in life can bring us the most joy. Let's hope future generations can learn a thing or two from these lovable curmudgeons, and maybe, just maybe, we'll see a resurgence of good old-fashioned comedy on our screens.
Me and my late Mother would watch this show all the time and I would kid her about her Nora Batty stockings. I live in the states in Ohio and we would watch it on PBS.
Thats the loveiest song sure goes well funny all the things happening to him rip compo love him dressed good i love all on the shop and watch it everyday twice a morning everyday now his replaced yeau ❤❤❤❤😊
Back in 1983, Two of The Stars from The Beloved British Sitcom 'Last Of The Summer Wine' decided to Bless The World with a Musical Masterpiece.Yes!, We're talking about Bill Owen and Kathy Staff who released The Legendary 'Nora Batty's Stockings' Song. This Catchy Tune follows The Story Of Compo and his obsession with 'Nora Batty's Stockings'. I Mean who wouldn't be mesmerized by Nora's Hosiery, Right?.
They don't make em like that anymore. Watched the series three times, and could watch it another three. The characters all seem like family. Yorkshire humour at its best.
The Song is Comedic Masterpiece with playful lyrics that will make you chuckle and a melody that you just can't help but sing along to,So turn that volume up and get dancing like you're wearing 'Nora Batty's Stockings'. Awkward,Lumpy and Slightly Uncomfortable. But Hey!, It's all in good fun.
we just need the song without the spoken intro. It isn't on Spotify so we need it on youtube in a clean form. By the way, why is this kind of single NEVER on Spotify?

You could almost feel the chemistry between Compo, Clegg and Foggy. R.I.P. all three of you, magical.

Rare? Hardly. Its know to millions.
Rare as in to find it to purchase, took me a long time to find a decent vinyl copy to buy. They didn't release that many.
On the B-Side of the record The Main Theme Tune is on it with Bill Owen narrating over the song.
A great show. Love it.
