Note: Slayer didn't actually do a "one frame jump" in the video example (because it involves pressing buttons, faultless defense should not be used in possible cross up situations because you may end up eating a counter hit) but we wanted to mention the technique anyway for general knowledge.

This is great. I really love the series and enjoyed the journey with Team Guilty Bits. It's now making me a little sad that the series is almost over.

I would've also added "Sanma" for Order Sol, "Hayashi" for Ky, "Hase" for Slayer (though he's rare to see), and "N-O/N-Otoko" for Venom when it come sot players to watch.

I'm still playing X2AC+ (Any and all iterations of GG, I have all of them from GG to the latest) I'm not a much of a fan of Xrd (The input lag kills it for me)
I just wish I had these videos when I was first learning but hot damn, I still watch these over and over because they're so well put together and heck, even after all my years of playing it's still taught me a thing or two about the game, You done good on yerself xD
I bought this game on steam, feels kinda lonely but the single player feels more fun than xrd.

It's not out yet on the PS3 - it'll come through sometime before end of year (or so we're told). Your AC+ game will patch, so long as you've got your internet on.

thanks for this video, i love this video series and i'm trying to learn slayer so this was really helpful. i have a stupid question, though. I'm playing Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus via PS3 download, it doesn't say +R anywhere. I read something online that said that +R is merely a balance patch to GGXXACP. Basically my question is what exactly is +R and how do I play it?
Forgot cross-up D-step (214S). I would have mentioned 6HS which is an amazing way to cover distance and catch aerial characters, and 2S which is a gdlk AA. Also, contrary to the vid you can actually combo from D-step > S on hit.
N-O doesn't play +R. He went to dominate BB instead...

There’s one thing you didn’t mention about slayer and the glitch with his air super.

There's no "specials section". This move isn't as important now in +R. Many Slayers like using supers, FB dandy K and roman cancels to capitalize on fat random hits.

I was wondering what you meant by "tiger kneeing" an input?
instead of 236K for example you input 2369K and perform the special during jump startup frames.
For Testament players: Lyrical Yukiho and another player I think is called Nitro? He uses the orange testament colors

DoT does not actually "cross the screen in 7 frames". It has 7 frames of startup and hits a bit in front of him at that point. It takes around 14 frames for it to hit a character at around the max distance. Probably more a problem with wording than anything else, but hey
Dropped this game just now man, slayer was the only character I wanted to put time into and its literally just too hard for my hands to do the timings needed. Sad that I cant get the knack for this but its just frustrating that it seems like his most simple strings require insane execution. I really hope they trash that style of requirement if he comes back in strive cause most all the other characters in +r can do things like 2k 2d without requiring stupid hard timing

I don't understand the usefulness of counter hits. What do they do? Do they provide something like longer combos or bigger damage?
colelegante Depends on the move it has a better effect.
colelegante well I'm late, but for anyone else who had this question. counter hits are when you hit the opponent just when they attempt to come out with an attack of their own. the property of your attack changes and (depending on the game) it may cause more damage and/or hit-stun. hit stun are millisecond animations right after being hit where a character can't block. more hit stun allows you to follow up with (combo) attacks that normally you wouldn't be able to. it's hard to notice and takes practice.
