I've not tried those myself, but theoretically it might just work! :)
After watching Stephen's video I installed regolith-desktop (but not the extra packages after it) on SpiralLinux Builder. Looks like it works fine.
Forgot to say that I specified --install_recommends on the apt install regolith-desktop command because Spiral has no_recommends set as default.
