Also, Isn’t weird how when someone makes a video on Sonic beating Mario, the Sonic fans are calling out Mario fans, but if someone were to make a video where Mario beats Sonic, the Sonic fans come in with their 5 paragraph long essays that wank Sonic and Downplay Mario that can be easily debunked?

alright, i really dont wanna be annoying with this debate cuz honestly it annoys the absolute fuck outta me as of recent, so apologies for being annoying with the comments lol. but tyrecordslol argues that every mario is different, that being 3d games, spin-offs, 2d, and basically saying that the only way mario would come close to beating sonic is using comp mario, basically saying that with every mario being different, that takes away all of marios greatest feats. therefore comp mario cant really be used in a death battle due to it being disingenuous and unfair. what is REALLY annoying is that according to most articles, is that mario's spinoffs dont actually have a confirmed/recognized canon. therefore its debatable if marios legacy content can be canon, all of this can come from his latest response to us mario fans. in all honesty, i think its unfair how us nintendo/mario fans are usually the ones with less subs, and a lower viewcount, while sonic fans get all the glory and are able to shut us up with considerably "better" counterarguements due to how practically outnumbered we are, and to top it off sonic fans are just really toxic and parasitic to those who share different viewpoints. honestly up until now, still no hate and im just trying to bring up some stuff that really can be viewed as just unfair/annoying to this controversial ass debate.
Dude no like I second this wholeheartedly. Qnd it's mainly because the Sonic community in general care way more about vs debates than Mario fans. Like they scale Sonic to Goku which is just straight bull LMAO. And I have responses to a lot of the other guy's remarks because I enjoy his content, I REALLY do, but there's a lot of stretches he makes for Sonic which just don't add up, while also not knowing nearly enough about Mario to properly represent him in a VS debate.

In the main adventures where his Universe or lives can be at stake, he’s often happy or just determined, but while he’s playing Soccer, he’s super angry, is going all out, and pulls out a random new form or wall jumping on the air so he can score a point 🤷🏿♂️

Ah yes. A fight that's comparing a demi-god plumber with almost limitless power-ups that fights chinese turtle dragon gods against a alien blue hedgehog with super speed and needs to go Super Saiyan to beat tough opponents. Seems totally fair.
A lot of Sonic fans seem to forget that Mario is canonically a demi-god (He's one of the 7 Star Children, meaning that he was basically born gifted). Also, when Mario is facing Gods/God-like opponents, he's in his base form for all of them, and is usually on his own.

Sonic also needs help 24/7. Mario usually needs help if he REALLY needs to. That's how strong the enemies are in Mario.

In comparison to sonic's enemies that example really isn't much. I'm going to use a 23 year old enemy at a big l o w b a l l. Perfect chaos is taller than a 7 story building and 7 story buildings are about 80-120 feet tall. He's at least faster than light because sonic has lightspeed shoes (not counting super sonic) and he's at least planetary due to the chaos emeralds existing being able to split up the earth and him being able to fight super sonic would make him at least near that level. In sonic generations the same perfect chaos gets MANHANDLED by base sonic. Mind you sonic is 3'3 and he just did that in his base form.

Plus, Mario-Kun(yes, that's his actual name) beated Manga Bowser, who quite literally came out of the manga, and destroyed the author, took the author's pen, and proceeded to manipulate Mario-Kun's universe, but Mario-Kun ignored it. Well, I always figured they were different versions. Not only does Paper Jam show that they're different, but even games before it imply that they're different. If 3d Mario was the same as PM, he wouldn't be able to fold up his body like in TTYD and entering the 3rd dimension in Super Paper Mario wouldn't have been a big deal. Besides, he still probably scales physically, and he doesn't need PM feats to win, unlike Sonic needing Archie or Fleetway feats to win.

His idea is that every Mario that you play as in each of his games is an entirely different Mario just doesn’t make sense when you consider the amount of callbacks to past games like in Super Mario Sunshine where FLUDD scans Mario and it shows scenes from his previous games. Same with Odyssey when you first capture Bowser and you go through his memories. Not to mention his idea would actually make Mario a lot weaker than he really is.
Wait someone THINKS this for real? 😂😂 YEAH like for the most part most of the things that happen in Mario are canon. The only things that are a LITTLE questionable are the Mario Party games and the only one I don't consider the same Mario is Paper Mario. Everything else, sports, platformers, RPGs, all fair game. @@VinnimonCinnimon I actually consider the first three Paper Mario games canon as it’s very clear these stories are retelling of adventures that Mario had just in Paper form(especially the first game since that penguin character said he was going to make a book about our adventure titled “Paper Mario” at the end of the game) You can kind of get that idea when you realize that up until Sticker Star no one acknowledged that they were made of paper.

1 thing I think is kind of important to bring up that I never see anyone talk about in these videos is that Mario did have the luma with him and was getting power from it the whole time he was in Galaxy and Galaxy 2. I'm not saying that it was making a HUGE difference to his abilities or power in general, but I do think that it could have been helping Mario to do feats such as launching the planetoids with ground pounds and such or protecting him from the giant black hole at the end of the game via just some kind of manipulation over celestial bodies since that's what lumas become. Not trying to take away from the power scaling or anything, but I thought it could be an interesting topic to bring up the fact that he did have a celestial creature able to transform into an entire galaxy with him during that adventure. How much it helped him though is up for debate.
Fair point and it's definitely something I considered. In the official guide, it's stated the Luma's main ability is helping Mario survive the harsh conditions of deep space, and his spin attack. In the game, whenever the Luma's powers are activated, like the chain stomp and the spin attack, the Luma leaves Mario's cap to recharge. Anything else, like his regular ground pound, and strength feats stay consistent with things he's pulled off without Luma. From lifting/destroying castles and boulders without breaking a sweat, to consistently being in the center of devastating attacks without being remotely harmed, it's easier to assume that those are his feats separate from Luma's influence.

@@DreaguiVIII dunno if this really changes your mind, but Mario has shown to be able to time travel through his own means (Mario’s Time Machine, the Pipe Man in Yoshi’s island), and was born with his power whilst under Yoshi’s protection. And would Sonic know where Mario as a baby is? He ain’t omniscient, so I’m not sure where he would know to go. And even then he uses Time Warp Plates in most if not all instances he does time travel with his speed.

This is a long one, read if you want.
Firstly, the first time Mario turns into electricity, he obviously hadn't mastered it, hence why he consistently hit his face and eventually crashed. If that perception were an ability given by BEING electricity, it would have been easy his first try. He had to learn that himself.
Secondly, he's always dodging things like lightning and cannonballs which from his perspective, move REALLY slow. During cutscenes, cannonballs are shown to move really fast, even with Mario Bros U making them outright unseeable during the opening custcene
Lastly, in Mario + Rabbids KB, Mario has an ability unique to him called "Hero's Sight" an ability that says due to all Mario's previous adventures, he has a sharp eye to see things moving in slower motion. While M+RKH isn't canon to the main series, it IS considered a "What If" possibility by the game's director. Which means the character's canon rules and world would tie closely to the main universe regardless.

As someone who likes both series equally and knows what both are capable of, they have both been extremely downplayed in their full potential here, especially sonic
As someone who also loves both series equally and owns almost every main entry in each respective franchise, for the most part it was paramount that I left out super intricate details to make a broader point. Even if I added in something like Mario's alleged super nova feat, or scaled Sonic to the power of someone like Solaris, a lot of those points would either be reaching, or doesn't change the main point of the video. The point wasn't to downplay either, or go over every last feat, but to say what I think of the matchup overall.

You can't just use invincibility power ups as a no limits fallacy. None of Mario's enemies are universal.
