Did not realize, 2 hammered dulcimers are pretty LOUD! Usually a bodhran player needs to hang back because that instrument can be overly- loud. Not so here. Nice playing everyone.
Really enjoyed this! The HD playing is tight & tasty. And the bodhran blends in nicely. The juxtaposition of "Swallowtail Jig" & "Road to Lisdoonvarna" at the end works amazingly well! Congrats;nations on an interesting & fun recording.
I have a great many hammered dulcimer artists in my collection. But this; this was something more than special! Jim Fyhrie, Maggie Sansonne, and many more. GREAT JOB!
I play these two tunes on hammered dulcimer also. It's great to hear such fine playing of Irish traditional music from Japan. I particularly enjoyed the way you mixed the two jigs at the end.
Wow. Very nice. I used to listen to this being performed by a friend of mine who is a pianist and a women who did an energetic hammered dulcimer in Princeton name Lucy. It's very nice to hear the piano and dulcimer parts both done on dulcimers. Thanks! Exceptional!
