I'll give it this... the amount of diverse enemies available is impressive even by today standards. Also I don't think I've ever seen a mutant killing sloth in my life.
House of The Dead games have always been pretty hard arcade shooters and they have always kept on getting harder and hrder as new ones come out unlike the Time Crisis series. I swear I can complete all of those in one credit and sometimes even no hits. The thing that makes the House of The Dead series hard is that you have to shoot everything on screen fast and accurately. If you spam especially during boss fight's you'll find that you miss your window of hitting opportunities quite easily causing you to get hit.
thats pretty true, i agree. whenever i get to the first and 3rd boss fights in house of the dead 4, i always find myself prefiring their weak spots, but then the damage multilplier and their hitboxes become smaller so then i fuck myself over and get hit. I always have loved the house of the dead series because even though its an arcade game, the story is pretty rich and philosophies about humanity's over population and pandoras box made me more interested in the zombies as well. The bosses appear simple to kill but the skill needed to time and shoot accurately makes the boss fights so fun and cool. The HOTD series was imo overshadowed by resident evil. i feel as if the HOTD series deserve.more recognition as a great game of action and scifi.

Ahh my childhood memories, I miss it so bad, hope I can go back the time, I remember playing this with my friends back in 2008 2009 but now they have family on their own. So sad.

Even though he didn’t say anything in the beginning, I’ll assume there was dialogue leading up to his death

yeah lol if you think about it you had to keep reloading your shotgun as fast as you'd reload the pistol in the first game and the smg in the fourth one, except the shotgun's reload is way harder

I always found it to be quite easy with a little practise, on PC though, the days of arcade are long gone...........but I think PC is much easier than Arcade, even if I haven't really used an arcade in this game.....

Not to mention, the only tarot card that's not been represented in the series is The Devil, so clearly there's one last major threat to defeat in the wastes.

A decade ago, i used to play this at the arcade. It felt so good to reload the shotgun in my hands. The problem tho was that the years got to it. It wouldnt reload anymore via the usual method, so what the staff did was add a button to reload the shotgun. It was... weird and sad.

To stagger them before they hit you on max difficulty is near impossible, you had to shoot fast but hit all the shots, no waiting. Cope to that the security guard's last phase window requires huge muscle memory because of those windows. I would always go for no hit run when i show off to my friends at the arcade, but at the security guard is pure luck if my shot decided to land or hit the wall instead

Does the ps3 version allow you to save progress? I bought this recently when I play the most recent chapter, the game just goes back to the main menu after completion.

The house of the dead setting and zombies were far more scary. Just somthing about the dirty grungy look and the low poly zombies is just scarier.

Some Of The Bosses In These Games Are Terrifying, they made this game perfect, I love a little horror in any game like this.
