  • I spent a day taking photos on the streets of Lisbon, Portugal using the Fuji X100V, and I'm incredibly impressed with the images from this camera. In this video we explore the beautiful city of Lisbon, chat about photography, and put the Fuji x100v through its paces.

    What a dayyyy! Had an epic time shooting with the x100v in Lisbon, and I can’t wait to get to know this camera even more. Are you thinking of buying a Fuji x100v? Anything else you’d like to know about it?

    You did a great job with this walkabout. I felt like I’d had a real mini tour of the city. You’ve convinced me to buy an X100V and visit Lisbon.
    Can you share the film simulation setting of the camera when it wasn’t set to the strong summer recipe? I preferred the more natural looking colours - stunning.

    It’s so wild to see other people’s views of Lisbon. You literally went to my street and even though I know it’s a pretty place/street, it really puts into perspective when someone else gets to appreciate it. I also kept looking around to see if I was in any shot, because you were in basically all the areas I frequent and walk my dogs lol
    Great video, great pictures, and it was great listening to you talking about this beautiful place.

    I enjoyed the walkabout style Sean. I bought an X100V a few weeks ago for exactly that purpose.
    I turn the LCD off and use the optical viewfinder. I'll tend to dial in a film recipe then not review any images until I get home, or to a café.
    It's quite exciting to see your images for the first time like that, like getting your prints back from the lab, back in the day.
    I like the "Summer" recipe, I may dial that in for the summer here in South West France.
    I used a Kodacolor recipe for a morning walkabout in Bordeaux. I just love the results.... they all look like 1970s Album covers.

    About the egg whites: they were used for ironing clothes, it's an old technique to use when you have collars or clothes that have some structured folds that need to keep their shape when someone is wearing them. And as you said, with all the yolks they started to bake pastries like "pastel de nata" and "ovos moles". 😁

    if you want a similar effect on your very own filter id recommend buying a uv filter for a few dollars and a can of spraypaint(black pref) and just do a milisecond spritz on the lens filter OFF OF YOUR CAMERA lol. make sure its barely visible but there. if you mess up wash it super fast with soap and water dry off and repeat till you get what you want. so the paint is like 8$ and then you can get uv filters on sale sometimes for like 5-10$ hope i save some of yall some money!

    Great photos with a great simulated film look. Although digital cameras really do still bother me. You take a photo on digital and you get no hard physical copy. No hard copy = no long term archival viability. It's just so throw away, you press a button and there, your photo is deleted. Plus digital is just too perfect to the point that it is boring. Every high end camera has the same base look. Imperfections and learning the hard way just doesn't exist with digital.

    Nice video! I'm a big fan of Joe D'agostino's nostalgic negative recipe for an everyday preset. I think Lisbon at sunset would look great with that recipe too.

    Thanks for sharing this day. That is how I travel too - spend days walking and exploring with a camera. Total joy. Quick question, on the FujiX100V, what is the hood on the lens? Is that an accessory? What does it do?

    • @seandalt
      @seandalt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the love! Definitely one of my favorite aspects of travel. I linked the lens hood in the description of the video, it helps blockout some of the lens flair from the sun. But I really only use it cause it looks cool :)
