Ah, the small town murder mystery. A classic. And I'm going to put in my theory as to some things, so spoilers below. Lion's Mane as the title, Lion on the boat side, big horrid swollen welts oozing pus, after a cold-water dive? methinks that a Lion's Mane jellyfish was somehow involved. Whether as an accident or someone committing elaborate murder via jellyfish sting remains to be seen.
