Great vid... I'm able to get a ILS to display on the HUD. The lower left button on the right HUD is the ILS. From what I can tell, the gear must be down, the ILS frequency entered.
Thank you!! I’ve ignored autopilot because I don’t like flicking switches when I don’t know what they do - but I don’t fly a harrier to sit on autopilot for very long anyway. I wish certain developers would include how to operate their software in the manual rather than wait for the community to figure it out but it is what it is. The Harrier is the same price as the PMDG 737-600…
@@WWXspartan058 And no interactive checklist on Xbox after the first update when the manual has no checklist so it needs another update already… The F-14 also has no AP documentation after how long? Yet DC, CJ, and SC have all released aircraft and dozens of livery packs to milk money from Xbox and clog up the certification process while also complaining how long it takes to deploy updates to the marketplace. Seems pretty out of touch with the community if you ask me. 🤷♂️
Great video as always. I’ve been sitting on the fence with this one even though I would love a Harrier. DC Designs just recently updated their cockpit visuals on their F14/F15 and as I’ve mentioned elsewhere, I will give credit where credit is due. They have taken a huge leap forward in visuals which was always my complaint with their products. I trust your opinion so if you’ve seen those updated visuals, would you say the Harrier is getting the same visual love? It is far too hard to judge from a TH-cam video. If so, I may give them another chance. Thanks.
One thing I will mention about DC Designs is that they lay a baseline product and then give it a makeover a bit down the line, The classic example is the F-15, it really didn't look that much on release but then it got a major overhaul and looks superb now. So yes the cockpit will be getting a makeover at some stage but not 100% sure when that will be as there is a bit of a que for updates. At the moment the F-14 is being updated visually and then I think it moves on to the F-16 but trust me it will get done. As will the flight model, it's been continuously bug fixed and enhanced and more systems are planned to come online further up the road. You could go for it now, trust me it is worth every penny, as there is nothing else like it on the sim at the moment but as I said, further down the road is where it will really blossom. It is great fun and can be a bit of a bitch to master and that is something that will become more of a theme when further systems come online. It truly is a pilots aeroplane and is very hands on. If you are really unsure, hold off for a bit and wait for it to mature. If you want a new experience and challenge then I recommend it, there is nothing else out there like it so far. I know that isn't a the most helpful answer but at least you kind of know their roadmap and intentions. The final decision is down to you my good man. As always thanks for watching and hope you are well! 💪
Hey Boresight , following your tut, in the Harrier,,, i have noticed with all inputs exactly as you have them in your tut for regular NAV/IFA AP, aircraft follows the waypoint legs kinda but with a 3 or 4 deg left or right off course direction, i am not sure how to make course corrections while the AFC is active ? don't know if there is a course correction knob for those small adjustments in flight...when i make an adj with the stick ,, it will hard roll to left or right and stay in that 15 deg bank...so i have to muscle the aircraft back into a corrected flt plan but its still off a deg or so, i have asked this same question over at Deans discord .. and noone has given me a clear answer yet... they point me to the vids lol, which i have watched and taken notes on
Your video is really clear and helpful thanks....But, I cannot get the AFC to follow waypoints at all, but the aircraft does circle Waypoint 0. I have noticed that my dial does not correspond with the same positions for NAV, IFA and Gyro. But I have followed your setup completely, trying any of the three options and I can't get the plane to follow the Flight Plan ? Any thoughts,, and thanks again for really good videos.
Hi! Can you please help me? If I set the altitude hold, it will descends always -2000fpm. Where can I adjut the altitude for the autopilot? Thank you kindly.
Hello! First of all, thanks for this video! That was amazing to know AFC functionality for Harrier in fs2020. I have a problem, GYRO works perfect. NAV works perfect (for VOR radial navigation). But when I put the navigation mode to OFF and activate AFC (for actitude hold) the Harriers move left to a invisible navigation VOR. Do you know why this occur?? Thanks!

I asked for an AP manual shortly after launch as was told DC needed CJ simulations to write it, all this time later still no manual lol

Thanks for this video....definitely fills the gap left by the minimal document from the devs.
Thanks Boresight. I saw all the conversations in the discord. Your vid explains it so much better. Brilliant! Cheers
Just caught up with this but that was great. Very clearly explained.

Hi!
Is there a way to just HDG and ALT hold without a flight plan?
Yes if you turn the INS nob all the way round clockwise to GIRO you will be able to fly the AFC using heading hold and alt hold

auto throttle in this?
Is there any way to turn off the auto trim?
Only modyfing the aircraft.cfg but Autopilots altitude faults...
