      His videos are realistic and tailored to everyday people, whereas anything by Gordon Ramsay is more tailored to those who have a very large budget and/or spent years at Le Cordon Bleu school.

    Fun fact about matcha: it also contains L-Theanine which essentially counteracts a lot of the jittery effects of caffeine, so it’s great for those who are sensitive to caffeine!

    • @pennygardner9739
      @pennygardner9739 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I can contest to that...no more jitters. I cut out coffee a few weeks ago and now enjoy my 2 cups a day of matcha. I add a couple pinches of stevia, a few drops of vanilla extract, and drink it over ice. Totally decreases the bitterness.

    • @blackgirlburntout

      @@pennygardner9739 I love matcha but never thought to add vanilla extract, gonna have to try 😋

    • @FindingGreenOS

      This is also in green tea generally, no need to make it matcha specifically.

    • @S4cr3dG30m3try
      @S4cr3dG30m3try 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yerba maté is a good, cheaper alternative than matcha which tends to be super expensive.
      It's higher in antioxidants than green tea, and higher in caffeine (matein) than both green tea and matcha, but due it's composition it doesn't give you the jitters like coffee may do.
      Also maté can be re-steeped and reused *a lot* of times, unlike green tea or matcha. It's overall the more accessible and budget friendly option, best replacement for coffee, and way healthier than green tea.

      If you’re interested in that, you might want to check out the book “Lateral Cooking”. The author gives blueprints for many foods (e.g. what ratios are roughly needed, where can and can’t you change things around) plus showing examples of how to vary and adapt and how you go from one type of recipe to the next. I found it really helpful for learning to improvise

      With time and practice! I cook soups all the time and I learn something knew almost every other soup (I wing it) I used to follow recipes to the T but it kept me out of the kitchen because I wouldn’t like it so I must be a terrible cook but when I’m winging it if I don’t like it I have motivation to get back into the kitchen to ‘perfect’ my craft! It’s very relaxing and extremely replenishing when you can share it with friends and family and see the gaze of aws from a great home cooked meal!!!

    regarding the enerdy balls I myself like when their texture is super smooth and all the nuts are incorporated into the mix. So first I put the nuts into the food processor and wait until they are almost paste like and only then I add dates and other dried fruits. And also I wait untill the whole mass sticks together completely and becomes one single basse in the processor.

    Usually, when they're a lot of snacks around the house, I noticed that I'd eat way less in meals, cause I know there's always something to munch on whenever I crave, and my mind kinda compensates for that. Unlike when there isn't any, I'd eat so much of the same thing specially during meal times, which is less healthy in my opinion sooo go snackers!

    You feel better after drinking water in the morning because, as you said, you're dehydrated. It has nothing to do with you drinking tea afterwards, you could not drink anything and still feel better from drinking water. Caffeine's dehydrating factor is also mainly just the fact that it's a diuretic, which means it makes you want to go to the bathroom more. This effect is minimal and won't really dehydrate you much at all. Also, as far as vitamin B boosting your energy, vitamins don't have an immediate effect like that and also in someone with normal levels of vitamin B you won't experience an energy boost. The energy boost is mainly only present in those deficient in vitamin B. The boost you feel is probably the caffeine as you originally thought or just a placebo as you feel that it does boost your energy so it ends up doing so.

    Great video, I tried like 5 recipes of you in the last 3 days
    Side note, coffee is not really dehydrating, that‘s a myth as far as I know.

    Gotta try a ketchup powder for your popcorn. As a southern gentleman this Canadian condiment is a winner my dude.

    10,000 hours of meal prep... so, had to do the maths.
    Been married 46 years... have been sole meal prep (other than very occasional takeaway (until the last few years where we have it 2 or so times per week) that comes to just 35.4 minutes per day...
    pretty sure my meal prep is at least 5 times that!
