I'm considering getting the DJI Pocket 2 for Christmas and this is the first of your videos I've seen. I've watched a bunch of video tutorials in the past few years on various products, but I have to say yours is the BEST video tutorial I've seen on anything. A bit of humour, you get to the point quickly and explain things absolutely perfectly. What a breath of fresh air.
Hello!!! I'm so glad that you liked my video, and I really appreciate your kind and detailed feedback. I hope you enjoy the Pocket 2 when you get it, and if you have questions I'll try to help if I know the answer. Take care
Especially hot tip on coming out of cover to reveal a shot: reversing the video clip so we don't get that focus change! would never have thought of that. Thanks
Another very informative video. I like the way you explain things without talking so fast that it makes the video useless as many others do.Thanks again.
Just bought my pocket 2 and your videos have been a great jumpstart into getting familiar with the camera. Thanks for keeping everything simple and direct.
Otto, Thank you for your Pocket 2 tips and tricks and also your Tutorials, very easy to follow and understand, starting to use my pocket 2 more and learn all its features. Andrew, in Scotland.
Thanks Otto. I just purchased the Pocket 2 for an upcoming trip to Spain, and I've devoured your Pocket 2 content from setup recommendations to this great advice on B-Roll techniques. I've really enjoyed learning about this DJI product from your creative efforts. Thanks again!!
OMG, the first 30 seconds was hilarious! I'm going to watch this one about ten times. Pausing, slow-mo, etc. The little tip for picking up a scene "out of cover" was very helpful. I noticed it with the scene in the park, being framed by the tree before you even talked about it. But it didn't dawn on me that you could be focused on the scene, cut into the tree (which will probably be blurry), then reverse it when editing. Great tip! So even though I don't have a Pocket 2, this was a great and helpful video! And you know what... I think your on-camera presence has gotten really good lately. I'm going to go back and watch some of your Mavic videos from about six months ago and compare them. :-)
Lol too late to say nooo, not that Mavic video lol. Yeah I think I feel more comfortable in front of the lens the more I do it. And I had that Intro in my head for a while, this Pocket 2 is a camera but I had a good time the first times turning it on. Thanks Matt. For real!!

I love this little camera. It is a bit tricky to use at first but once you get the hang of it, it is amazingly powerful. A couple of things I don’t like though: 1) You can’t adjust the brightness of the screen. Forget being able to see anything on the screen in full sun, unusable. 2) The little 3 legged screw-on stand that comes with it is very handy but they should make it so it clicks in place when fully extended so the legs don’t move in all directions as soon as you try to adjust anything. 3) I wish the tracking could work in 4K.
hi there. yeah it is still a nice little camera after so many years. Tracking does work in 4K, it just doesn't work at 4K 60fps, you need to lower the frame rate
Thanks Otto another great video. Can I use the Pocket to shoot real estate video? I've been getting a lot of requests to shoot video but don't want to invest in more dslr gear.

OK thanks...... but can u explain how to connect Because as I mentioned before up my note 9 can not see pocket 2 when I attached D-I-A and open dji mimo
@@journey8775 make sure that your iPhone is not connected to the pocket 2 via wifi. If your android can't see the pocket 2, try restarting the phone or reset the wifi. You should also check the frequency that it's using to transmit (2.4ghz or 5ghz)
Hi Otto, I'm trying to understand the focus challenges when filming in reverse. If we film reveal in reverse to avoid focus jumps and then correct in post-production, wouldn’t that result in all physical movements appearing backwards? I'm new to the OP3, but wouldn’t it be better to switch the focus mode from continuous to what I believe is called single focus? Perhaps the focus on the pocket 2 is limited? Single focus could help eliminate focus jumps and capture movements as they were originally seen. Or am I overthinking the backward movements of people walking, animals waves, etc.? I appreciate your quick solution, but I think it would only work best when there are no natural or standard directional movements of objects. Does what I’m saying make sense? I haven’t tried this technique yet. I have a lot to learn from you! 👍🏻 Thanks for your help!
Yes you can use the single focus feature as well. The reverse only works if there are no elements that will look reversed, like people walking, birds or vehicles.
Your videos are really very helpful👍🏼 Thanks for all these tips and tricks, they help a lot to make my videos more interesting. Subscribed your channel to learn more😎
I am so happy that I found your video's - I am thinking of getting this camera to go with my DJI Mini 2 and you have made the decision a little easier for me.... Does it work well with Android though like the Mini 2???? - Thanks.
That was so awesome and informative i like you very much i wonder how to transfer that video file to android phone cause i usually edit video clips to kinemaster on android phone
Great video, Otto. Thanks so much for sharing. I can’t wait to put these into practice when I get my Pocket 2 tomorrow. Subbed for sure. Excellent content.
@@OttoJulian_ I’m sure I will. I’ve been a creator in the stills scene for 20+ years but video is new to me. I’m excited to put tech like this to the test. Your videos are inspiring.
Hi! If the camera is going to sit on a tripod any mode is OK. If you are going to hold it, I would probably go for tilt locked, this way you can still pan around if your subject is moving
the tracking is where the camera will "track" someone or something. Follow mode is the movement of the camera, it will "follow" or turn in the direction you are turning your camera, for panning and tilting. hope this clears that up. PS, none is better than the other, it's just different

@@journey8775 make sure that your iPhone is not connected to the pocket 2 via wifi.
If your android can't see the pocket 2, try restarting the phone or reset the wifi.
You should also check the frequency that it's using to transmit (2.4ghz or 5ghz)
@@OttoJulian_ i tried all of this and still the same situation not working 😪......
Thank you for your helping 🙏 appreciate
😔😔
Hi Otto,
I'm trying to understand the focus challenges when filming in reverse.
@@OttoJulian_ , Thanks! 👍🏻

Hi there! You are welcome!!

I use a microSD reader to usb-c: amzn.to/3uI4XAe
that is if your Android has a usb-c port
Great video Otto. One question. Does autofocus work on slowmotion mode?
yeah it does
@@OttoJulian_ because when i use slowmotion for a closeup and then move the camera away to shoot the backround its really blurry
More more like this please. Your explainations are so smooth and these tips are really helpful. Thank you for making this video !
Hi! Yeah I'll be making more videos like this for sure !!
Brilliantly clear and useful explanations, thank you so much! One question - what do you use for the text reveal animation, for example at 2:08?
Hello Dave! Thanks! I use a callout text preset for premiere pro
@@OttoJulian_ ok great thanks!

Hello Ingrid, thanks for your feedback!! Trying to grow more, but you know, it's not easy!
@@OttoJulian_ I know!!😅
Otto, what do you use ? A 4th axis gimbal with the pocket 2 or not bother ?
no, ninja walking is my 4th axis "gimbal"
@@OttoJulian_ hmmm. I need to perfect a ninja walk then. 😊 you do look super smooth in the videos you had shot.
I am learning from you lots of things, thank you and keep doing it !🤘
Hello Mina!! Thank you!!

@@OttoJulian_ I’m sure I will. I’ve been a creator in the stills scene for 20+ years but video is new to me. I’m excited to put tech like this to the test. Your videos are inspiring.
Thank you it helps me a lot.
You are welcome !
Thanks for sharing Otto, great video and tips. I just purchased mine today so looking forward to trying some of these features out.
Hello Nicholas!! That's awesome!! Enjoy it!
which mode is good for interviewing people?
Hi! If the camera is going to sit on a tripod any mode is OK. If you are going to hold it, I would probably go for tilt locked, this way you can still pan around if your subject is moving
This is the first time I’ve seen one of your videos Otto. Nicely done. Thanks for giving me some tips on using my new Pocket 2.
Hi Alan! Thank you! More coming soon!
Love your chanel. I subscribed and like 😍🤩🥰
helloooo thank you so much!
Is active tracking similar to follow? I’m going kayaking tomorrow in nature. Just wondering what would look best. Only my 2nd time using it.
the tracking is where the camera will "track" someone or something. Follow mode is the movement of the camera, it will "follow" or turn in the direction you are turning your camera, for panning and tilting. hope this clears that up. PS, none is better than the other, it's just different
@@OttoJulian_ yes thank you 🙏
@@devilfish3034 you are welcome! I just released a video today with 13 general tips and tricks, you should check it out

Hey Otto. Totally awesome Videos. Thank you. Do you use the slow or fast gimbal follow mode for Tracking? Thank you.
Hello! I like to have my Pocket 2 set to slow follow
