    Thank you so much for watching! Do you think I should try the summit again?

    This is really helpful for people like me that want to climb the Ecuadorean volcanoes! Hoping to visit there next year.

    So what a small world it is! I was searching for Chimborazo videos before yesterday to mentally prepare myself before my climb and found myself here only to think of how familiar you looked. Then I realized we shared the dome tent in Aconcagua Plaza De Mulas! We have met and spoken multiple times and also celebrated new years and our unsuccessful summit attempt due to bad weather.
    Thought I’d share

    Good video! I really liked the Cotopaxi video as well. In that video you mentioned that you were planning on doing a gear video. Can you send me a link to that if you made one? Otherwise, can you let me know what you wore during the hike? My wife and I are planning our trip in February of 22 and we want to be prepared. Thanks!

    Interesting, thanks for sharing! Would you say Chimborazo is as challenging as Aconcagua? I would have guessed that Aconcagua is so big that you would have felt a similar level of exhaustion there. Interesting to hear that the combination of Cotopaxi + Chimborazo may have been more challenging. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

      Such a hard question to answer! Aconcagua is so much longer of the trip. But chimbarazo is way more snow and technical. Sorry, that's all I can say!

      @@LauraLeanne thanks for your reply. At least it shows that Chimborazo is up there with Aconcagua in terms of challenge, even though it’s 600m lower…

    Awesome video! Any chance you could share the guide company that you didn’t like? Trying to do my own research on guides currently.

    Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve read it’s a good strategy to attempt summit bid from a high camp as you’ve already made some elevation gains. Can you please tell me what elevation your high camp was at? Also which climbing company you used ? Thanks so much, and keep adventuring!

    • @LauraLeanne
      @LauraLeanne  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      High camp is 17,500. You climb there from 15,500. I don't know anyone that hikes it all from 15,500. I used AAI but would probably recommend a different company. I hope that helps! Good luck!!

      @@LauraLeanne I thought climbing “The Triple Crown” was the way to go. However, hearing from your experience perhaps that’s too much and two summits might better. Cotopaxi and Chimborazo. What do you think?

    • @LauraLeanne
      @LauraLeanne  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@contactrudy unfortunately I think you're current. Or an extra rest day in between each. All of the other climbers had an extra rest day before this climb. We had asked our guide for that and they said no even though we had a contingency day to use.

      @@LauraLeanne I just climbed this 2 weeks ago. We started at the bottom at 15,500 from Refuse 1 and summited from there. I thought this was the only option. I wish I had the option of a rest at the tents. We had breakfast there on the decent. Thanks for sharing your experience. This was my first experience at mountaineering and loved it. I went with the company, Julio Verne and highly recommend them!!

    If you go back get in contact with Jose Luis Pervalo. He is one of the top Ecuadorian guides and is one of the most humble people that I know.

    Are you a beginner? Do you think a beginner can climb Cotopaxi?
