I personally feel like from the start of march even if we won games we lost that momentum which we carried through 2024. We no longer boxed teams in with pressing and maintained possession easily. Declan Rice has sort of gone missing these past few games, maybe fatigue or injury. The fact that new blood like Partey, Timber and even youth prospects like Coizer-Duberry and Nwaneri are not getting chances is hurting our ability to freshen things up
At the end of the day when we face a low block we dont have an all and out striker to hit one in from 18-16 yards out.
There have been less long range shots this season as well. I also feel we are overcoached on trying to find neat ways to bring the ball into the box. When it's not working lump the ball in from wide positions....they will start feeling the pressure and then clear it haphazardly allowing us to create more pressure. This whole side to side stuff is looking like wenger times when facing a low block. Just cross the ball in ffs

No one there looked like they were driving at them and ready for a fight. They started controlling possession from 75mins and we looked v tired at that point. This is on Arteta, he changed the midfield and the front line that was working soo well, Rice looked lost and the defence was shocking. He then changes to how it has been and should have been with Jorginho and Havertz up top. No coincidence that we lose when he changes the squad yet again, he has to stop messing about with the squad and let it be. He then takes of Odegaard who was the best player today and to leave Zinchenko in who has given the ball away today many times yet again, totally messed up the squad and the game today.

We need a prolific forward...it costs us in games where we are struggling to score...if Gyokeres at £85 m and Toney at £35-40m is being touted then sell Nketia n get both because havertz and jesus are not lethal enough to win games and we are relying on midfielders to try n wrap games up with goals when they dont score.

Today's loss is on arteta. That lineup makes zero sense. Jesus upfront in the league has been terrible, zinchenko is a walking grenade and havertz midfield doesn't work.
All arteta had to do was play havertz up-front and get jorginho or partey in the midfield for some balance.

Didn't we see Zinny literally play Kai in behind Villa's backline, multiple times especially in the first half?? That only happened because Jesus would distract the defenders to allow Havertz to spin in behind and we could've and should've scored from it. Zinny literally dealt with Diaby and Bailey well, and helped us progress with those through passes, why the fuck is he being blamed. We lost, it is what it is, but the fact that fans are so reactionary and turning on this team and finding scapegoats (I'm not talking about you btw), that makes me sick and makes me embarrassed to be an arsenal fan. As much as they want to say that this team isn't ready for a Title, these fans aren't ready for a Title either, to be a big club you gotta act like a big club, that goes to the fans as well. Arteta lost arsenal this game btw. A blind man could see that our midfield was thin and lacked control. Yet, he didn't react to that quickly. Also, zinchenko had no business being on that pitch after 50 minutes. Very naive of him today.
Zinchenko is a huge liability. It could have been 4-0 villa easy.
Zinchenko and Jesus should never start for Arsenal if other regulars are available and fit.

For any team to win the premier league, you have to be perfect. That is the standard that Pep has set in the Epl. As long as Pep is in charge of City, it will be extremely difficult for any other team to win it. The day Pep leaves City is when there will be a good chance of other teams winning the league. But as long as Pep is still in charge, then you may very well be content with 2nd place.

What's going through Arteta mind. Play Partey with Rice and Ødegard in the middle, we know Partey hasn't been that good since he returned from injury but he's fit that's why he's on the bench. So play him or jorginho, Rice n Ødegard. Put Havertz on the bench. Even if Havertz is in form must Arteta now play him every game. How many years now Arsenal haven't won the league. This is not good at all as faithful as we the Arsenal fans has endured.

The problems were there in the first half. I had almost given up before the second half. Besides Odegaard all game, and perhaps Saka's first-half performance the rest of the team seemed like they were partying last night. Wrong decision-making all over the pitch in the first half. Villa made sure Gabriel couldn't pass from the defense, and he didn't make it easy for himself. He can pass to the keeper also or concede a throw-in rather than make his teammates restive all game.
Took us from 8th to 2nd, but we now need a clinical centre-forward.
