This song is truly a diamond in the rough. In a competition full of perfect looking people and mass produced music with no feeling at all, we have this beautiful blend of jazz and romantic classical performed by an artist with heart and depth, a performance that quiets a room.
This was the performance that gave him the victory... He smashed the competition with that trumpet solo...
No. Unfortunately, the vast majority that voted for him never saw this performance.
Of course, he couldn't have made this during the main performance, but it was a pity that he didn't do it in his after-victory performance.
He had fun during rehearsals, and still gave a mesmerizing performance, and that shows something special about him.
You know what, I have heard him sing the same song in at least 10 different ways online. This guy is really special.

When Salvador Sobral lived in suffering, and was angry with the world due to his illness, the incredible thing is that today he is well, married, has a daughter and lives happily with his music.
Interestingly enough Salvador admits that at the time his voice was in best possible shape

I don't think so. It is beautiful to hear him playing the trumpet, but that will always be a gem only for the people who really look into the music and search it. I think most people would take it like just "another bit of the song". Besides that, I loved that after me hearing the original song about 20 or 30 times, I thought that was the best it could be, but I was weong I found this version that surprised me even more.

Salvador Sobral has impeccable tuning and the trumpet sounds real.
This was a jazz performance where Salvador tested everything he felt like at the moment.
And listening to jazz in Portuguese is rare and pleasant for a Portuguese person like me.

Tbh, I have no idea why the entire team, sister included were stressed that he'd improvise. Of course he knows that the instrumental is recorded and he can't get out of that limitations. He wouldn't leave the same place, so the camera's job would be the same thing. And when he improvises he always makes the song better. Both this and the piano version in Spainish TV were amazing, and I can't get over them. I think he should have done this on the final. Except for that "er" at 1:09 xD he got a little bit too excited there, but the rest?? This is a piece of heaven
