Good analysis. I think things are fine. Given the Grizzlies hot start, I would like to see Jenkins let Edey play through some of the mistakes a bit more. I think Jenkins has been too quick to pull Edey at times. But he will learn and get better. He always has. That said, the guards could pass to him a lot more on dribble penetration. They seem though to prefer a contested runner / layup as opposed to a dump off which *might* lead to them getting tagged with a turnover.
I wanted ware badly, he fit our offense better. At first people point to him not playing to say he can’t play, but now he’s putting up numbers. Look, Zach was a good player but he was always going to struggle in our pace system. Force feeding Zach in the paint clogs the paint for a paint dominant team. In the spurs game, coach took Edey out for a more mobile big to open the floor and get Wemby away from the goal because he was blocking everything. He has to adapt to OUR system. This is not Purdue and Edey post ups aren’t gonna win us a championship. We’re not gonna change our game plan to fit one player at the expense of the others, especially a rookie.
I always wanted k. Ware, because we need good hands and a lob threat. Edey just looks so slowwwww out there
the kid is top of the list for Rookie of the Year.
.... not good enough, he should play better ?? lolol
🤔🐻〽️
Edey might be the worst lob threat of all time. One of the most uncoordinated athletes in sports
Edey is a project, simple is that. We hoped he could outplay his rookie status but he just hasn't at this point. If the organization is truly serious about winning a chip now, we can't do it starting 2 rookies. We need a more productive starting center. BC is too undersized.
He sucks, is what it is. Wish we still had Stevo
Look. He’s overrated. He’s soft. He’s been overrated. We needed a big THE MINUTE we drafted him. Screw the Blazers for snatching Clingan and making him a third string. Edet can’t defend. Can’t move his feet. He gets killed by all NBA bigs he matches up with. We play the Knicks on Monday and there is NO WAY you can play him too many minutes Vs KAT. If Steven Adams (who we should trade back for btw) couldn’t guard KAT a few years ago in that WOLVES/Grizz playoff series then KAT IS GONNA GO FOR 50
You are soo wrong. Zach Edey how is he soft? He has had numerous confrontations with big Men who tried to push him around. Why don't you let a ROOKIE DEVELOP AND LEARN? Your take is horrible...
@ ???? What does a confrontation with draymond and whoever else mean if it doesn’t translate on the court ?? He’s soft as a basketball player. Not a human being. Cuz he dunked on Wemby who is like 100 pounds?? Open your eyes. He’s NOT that good and he doesn’t fit. If my take was “horrible” this wouldn’t be a damn topic of conversation by TWO MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES REPORTERS 🤡 and learn what?!? HOW TO CATCH A DAMN BASKETBALL OR DEFEND OR GO UP UNDER NEATH THE BASKET?? HE’S 23/24 years old and can’t do the basics. Watch the game and learn.
@@TJIRISH44yes he a rookie but he is mid and Memphis have to win now there big 3 is getting older
@ you are blind or can’t read. I can’t help you. What I can say is that he is a soft BASKETBALL player. Not human being. Idgaf about a “confrontation” with draymond or any big then you go out and get 5 points and benched… what does that do for us?! It’s a great TH-cam clip cuz that and him dunking on wemby are the only things he does that is newsworthy😒Did you watch the wolves games ?! He looked PRETTY soft in those games. Missing dunks & couldn’t grab a board. See him against the rockets?? Seguen was murdering him. Mark Williams had a career high against him two night ago and Edey lost a jump ball to JOSH OKOGID WHO IS 6’4!. We don’t have time to “develop” a 23 year old when we are tryna win a championship NOW especially when he can’t do the basics.
Yep, all of this. He's a big liability defensively bc he's sooooo slow and can't guard out past 10 feet lol
Should have drafted Ware
trade him to raptors
Edey winning back to back college player of the year with his actual technique is a disgrace to the sport of Basketball. He’s not good just huge. Undrafted if he was 6’11
DaMichael what you just said about post scoring in the NBA is a bunch of crap. Post scoring has never changed in the game. Can Edey space out more? Yes. But don't give excuses to bad coaching decisions.
The grizzlies needed a big on the floor against williams and Jenkins just sat there with his thumb ou know where. It's called COACHING - coaches utilize their pieces and it's the coaches fault that edey isn't being used properly. Now I'm turning off the video because I can't believe of all people you are so full of it today.
All that is true..but Edey sucks right now
I never saw a rookie be treated like this, man is asked to do things with little touches, time on the court and is asked to play a different style of basketball with only 30 games played but is dominant when he gets the oppurtunity. We saw many times he can be dominant this season.
All these other rookies are playing on bad teams with no spotlight on them and are struggling edey and wellz are playing on a playoff team and are challenge every game and are it to win rookie of the year. Memphis now have a variety bigs now.
Edey was never going to fit seamlessly in our offense. Zach’s post game hurts everyone else , we are better at transition offense than half court.
@@jamesandthangs1234until the playoffs when the game becomes more halfcourt. We usually lose when the opponent slows us down and muddy the game. Our counter should be Edey in the post
Edey finna cost coach Jenkins, the next coach and the next coach their job and probably Ja too. Y’all swear he’s proven even tho he only played against college freshmen
