Trangia Spirit Burner And Wood Gasifier Stove

- Thought I wood pop to my magic roundabout and try out the trangia burner with the wood gasifier stove. I cooked up some mac and cheese, taking some inspiration from Cliff Booth, Brad Pitts character in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. It was my go to film of the 1st lockdown.

@@robtherover when i always had neck burned when i had baseball hats. Now with these hats it far better because it shields your neck from sun burn 😊

Enjoyed watching your video. Glad you liked the boxed version of Mac N Cheese 👍. I fix it often using less milk and a little more butter than is called for in the directions. I also carry a small silicone Collapsible Callander to drain it, much easier to shake all the extra water out of the macaroni noodles. Love using a Gasification stove with a Trangia burner! I have the SOLO STOVE TITAN with the alcohol burner. Of course I've also made Mac N Cheese using my Trangia 28T Mini and my Trangia 27T STORMCOOKER. All are great options for Fishing, Walkabouts, Kayaking, and Camp-overs. Be Well, Be Safe, Be Outdoorsy...love from this side of The Pond.

If you put the stove in wood burning mode that will shield the alcohol burner more from the wind. I love how the gasifier makes a great wind shield. :)

But then the flame of the burner Will be to low!!!
The sweet spot of the flame to the pot is 1.4 inch , not 1 inch 😁

I've not used my gasifier in a while now. tried all the fuel and they all work well.

Great innovated method of using trangia burner and trangia kettle and pots 😊. I use the same setup. To have a unit that you can burn different types of fuel eather it's wood, wood pellets, fuel tablets, alcohol, is really really cool 😎
I agree. The wood gasifier is a pretty useful multi fuel burner. I love it.

I’m thinking of getting the Firebox Nano with the add-ons of the Trangia and the solid fuel plate. That would give me three ways to use it.
That’ll be cool. The tomshoo comes with a little dish for solid fuel too. I couldn’t test it because I lost the dish. But now I’ve found the dish but seem to have misplaced the tomshoo. I have the day off tomorrow so might search for it.
I have a similar gasifier stove branded as GasOne which also has a dish for solid fuel or alcohol. Your stove has a sturdier pot stand than mine.
The Firebox Nano is much more compact, though.
@@SDWNJ sounds good. I think I will take a look at it. I always love compact gear.
I sometimes use my Odoland 3500w stove inside my ohuhu gasifier, you have to unscrew the hose and feed it through one of the lower air vents but it works great, if you tweak it right you get that secondary burn as well.
I love all the different ways of using gear.

Thank you for watching. I’m not sure of the make but it was from Amazon. There’s a lot of wood gasifier stoves on there that look the same but are different prices. I think I paid about £15 for it about 3 years ago.
@@robtherover Thanks for your reply . Your stove is very similar to the Ohuhu stove which is a very good stove .Approximately the same price and works as well as gasifiers costing 3 times as much. Have a great week.

that worked well rob... i use a roof drain cover as pot stand/windbreak on my trangia that works well... not a fan of pasta.. but that looked really nice mate.. paul..
Sounds like a good idea that. I’ll try absolutely anything when it comes to food. That being said, I really enjoyed that Mac and cheese.
