Don't seem to be able to add a card, so I'll link here! If you want to see my initial thoughts when Barry turned toasty, see here: th-cam.com/video/P91_U7vC3ts/w-d-xo.html
Wow, just, wow. I've been looking around at the different breeds of silkies for a while because I want to buy one, but geez. These are absolutely the most beautiful chickens I have ever seen. Especially the pale headed one.
Are you still going with Barry and his girls? People here in the States love "project colors' in Silkies. Maybe Barry has paint, Partridge or red pyle in his background?
I'm hoping to hatch out some silkie chicks. What time of the year do you recommend? I've seen quite a lot of people with new silkie chicks around this time of the year but when do you think Is best?
I tend to start in the early spring because the fertility is higher at that time of year. You also don't need them under a heat lamp for as long which is a bonus.
+Hilltop Farm Homestead first I thought it was colour leakage which is quite common in chickens so I think it's, as you say, an incomplete dominance thing. Now I just gotta capitalise on it. :D
@@BrimwoodFarm Okay thanks. I really want to hatch silkies in the future but don't want to annoy neighbours. Also do you have neighbours? Do they mind all the noise?

That's such a beautiful coloration on a silkie. *_* Toasted Marshmallow alll the way!
I like the hen with the dark comb but lighter mashmallow
+Jeff Eden I prefer her too :)
I would actually like to purchase some of these. You should go international when you get the ball rolling on this thing
I prefer the dark comb and paler head feathers, she's so pretty!
Thank you! Hopefully babies from her this year.
I'm loving your videos, especially the Silkie chickens. Thinking of starting with chickens. We have 5 acres just outside of Ithaca NY.

Love the one with the red comb I think it brings out the colour on her head
They’re both beautiful in different ways
Love u silkies I just got a new rooster and will have crossed for a while going to line breed them so excited.
very interesting good to know especially when you want to interesting and weird feature i love the toasted marshmallow look
I like the darker colored crest.
+Daybird Aviaries I'm still not a fan of the colour but am trying to go with it. 😂
Oh wow both beautiful can't wait to see their chick's : )
+Petra Clarke nor me! :)
Cool. I can't wait to see the differences between the two female lines.
+Greentea and me!! Should be interesting :)
I love it! The vibrant red is amazing.
They are both uniquely gorgeous. Cannot choose. How has it all gone? Any links?
I like the darker one. I guess that by now you really have got the ball rolling with this new line.

That orange makes them look amazing show time
The buff head one because she has the black crest and Barry's ganddauters are going to take after the darker brown and not the buff.
So…what happened? Did you get more little marshamallows?
I prefer the red head (I feel a bit odd typing that).
I really like the pale colored hen :-)
Did Barry's single gray feather pass on genetically? A tri-color would be interesting.
I love them Both!
I love all of them ❤❤❤❤
I am looking forward to seeing how the chicks turn out. 2018 is a long time to wait 😢
+Joanne Barlow I know. That's the problem - they take sooooo long to mature. I'm already impatient !
Hurry Up! #LOL
I know, right. Only posted that Patience video on Monday...might have to go back and watch some of my own advice. LOL.

Any new updates?
Love both of them gorgeous
I like the darker one.
Is it caused by a genetic mutation or is there some sort of incomplete dominance thing going on do you think?

Do you think that silkie Cockerels/roosters are quite quiet?
Sadly, no. They're extremely loud and repetitive. Of course it depends on the cockerel...but I've found them to be some of the worst.

I like them both
Nothing wrong with line breeding for longer then 3 generations even
I like both hens
I really like the color of the darker girl.
I love his toasty color🤣 *F R E S H* color
he is sooo cute
Not only is his color off, his plumage is not favorable...plus that walnut comb...ick!
nice
Line of Inbred chickens .I don’t think so
