Sorry guys, had to reupload this for the 3rd time due to copyright claims. Hope this one stays and thanks for the 2.500 views within 2 hrs on the first vid! ❤️
I love how parts of that chunky riff kind of phases in and out in parts. It kind of sounds like he slightly leaning on a wah pedal slowly. It just sounds so Fcking epic lol. Matt Bellamy is such a genius
Muse are my favourite band, I'm obsessed. But I am drawn in by their lyrics and the messages they are trying to get through. Very important to understand where their lyrics are coming from. I have loved all their albums so much, and cant understand why some people don't like certain ones. I do love watching reaction vids though :D I'd just love someone to pick up on the lyrics at some point.
I know what you mean, as in we are being controlled by people higher than the government. In the jfk/ defector is another one of many examples, I the video they use Edward Snowden
At first I was like, "How the hell is he controlling the computer? Technopathy... WITCHCRAFT!!??" Then I realised that the dude is left handed. And yes, Muse is BACK, BABY! Not that they've ever gone away...
Favourite reaction to this track so far! Been watching a few to see if anyone else’s face did what mine did from start to finish on first listen! Great analysis too - you picked out a few things I’d not heard yet! I love the high harmonies in the final chorus, they’re perfectly placed in the mix. Great job from a fellow audio engineer - you’ve gained a subscriber :-)
Thanks a lot for this great reaction, you broke down the song in ways I haven´t seen/heard before and has made me appreciate the song even more than before! You sound like you know what you´re talking about ;) And I agree, I' m so stoked about this song, absolutely going to buy the album when it comes out. This is the Muse I love and adore, and for them to still being able to deliver on this scale is just astounding after such a long career. Earned a new sub, appreciate your work.
Why are people calling themselves Muse fans and acting like they haven't been heavy in the recent past? Did everyone just miss Drones? Or the fact that every one of their shows in the last tour had 15 straight minutes of metal?
Excellent video my friend! The song is so bad ass, Im going to use it as a reference track in ozone 9 to master with. Can you do a video on how to set the kick and bass with a synth showing how to give each clarity since they occupy almost the same frequency range 140hz down to 45-50 hz. Would love this if you can. Wishing you the best from Missouri, U.S. Cheers Mendel!
Thanks very much for your reaction to this song, MUSE are my favourite band of all time, and your reaction is by far the best, I like the way you break it down and point out the bits I don’t normally hear. That’s probably because you’re a producer. Can’t wait for the album
Ok I'm sorry to go off on a recommendation tangent here. First, of course, loved your reaction! I'm so excited for the album if it's gonna sound anything like Won't Stand Down! Now when I saw the thumbnail of this video I was super convinced at first because the blue/pink lighting in the background reminded me of a music video of my absolute favorite band! It has a very similar color scheme in some shots and I was like ?? Huh?? They're a metal band as well (a Japanese one) and I think you would really enjoy them! So please give "Falling" by the GazettE a try 🖤
IInterpretation; seems most folk completely miss the relevance behind the lyrics. The track has another title; 'Living Vicariously', & may be better described by 'Psychological Warfare', from the song itself. It's about a world-wide psychological battle between a few old men (the dude in a wheel chair) & the mindless masses (represented by those under his control). So the one singing the words is standing firm - outside the visuals - getting stronger by refusing to 'stand down', which is what he would be doing by playing the game of the system of manipulation by the slave-master over the masses of slave pawns. An great song with incredibly intelligent lyrics by a most relevant band😍
If you want to react to a song, I recommend the artist Aesthetic Perfection with their song Gods & Gold. Richard Z Kruspe, the guitarist of Rammstein is featured
You say Resistance was the last "favorite". Did you not like Drones? Some pretty fucking good rock production on that too. Reapers blew my brain through my scull when I first heard it. That also has such an amazing kick.
It’s taste, but I absolutely didn’t like Drones production wise while I do love Chris Lord Alge’s style of mixing most of the time. Also the songs weren’t there for me, I love that Showbiz/Origin of Symmetry vibe. Though this song isn’t that, more like “Dead Star”, which is I think my fav Muse chorus of all time.
I'm a massive Muse fan, but missed out in Execution Commentary because I didn't have the Plug in Baby single. Heard live a few times but I thought it was a jam! Added to my playing 😀👍

Love this! Much more in depth than some of the other reaction videos. Love hearing the technical analysis.
It's cool, I'll just rewatch every time you upload. Love seeing you so sonically satisfied
Been a big Muse fan for over 20 years.
It's good to hear the heavy riffs are back!
Dan Lancaster helped with the record.
Did Muse just make Metal accessible for mainstream??
I love how parts of that chunky riff kind of phases in and out in parts. It kind of sounds like he slightly leaning on a wah pedal slowly. It just sounds so Fcking epic lol. Matt Bellamy is such a genius
Back in the game! I think they will have fun playing this live. Let's hope for an extended album version.
they should add all the riffs in the outro of live version!

Every MUSE fan knows that smile!
The bass/drum mix is like fudge. Rich and delicious.
Exactly
i literally subscribed to you right after you said "i'm a huge fan of Muse" , muse is my favourite band ❤ high five brother ✋
fantastic. watched more than a dozen 'reaction' vids to this tune, and yours gets a comment.
At first I was like, "How the hell is he controlling the computer? Technopathy... WITCHCRAFT!!??"
Then I realised that the dude is left handed.
And yes, Muse is BACK, BABY! Not that they've ever gone away...
Excellent, informed analysis of the best song for over a decade from one of my favourite bands.
great breakdown of the track, & glad you loved it as much as the rest of us old Muse fans loved it haha

Seriously! Drones is quite underrated tbh! Also that metal medley from the Simulation Theory world tour was AMAZING
the only good reaction video. You explained technical details that we all didn't hear until you said it.
How do they never miss?!?!

Could definitely do that since I did that on my upcoming solo album :)!
@@Mendelian That would be great man, I follow you very closely, love you and your channel, wishing you the best from missouri, U.S

Now we need a Mendel cover of this banger.
It was mixed by Dan Lancaster.
Thank you! Dude did an amazing job
Awesome vid you should have way more subs. Count me in 🤘
Great video friend, and this song... Wow...
what about this sick harmonic on the last 0-0-H... awwwww so amazing
Hell yeah dude! It's fucking amazing. Classic Matt.
MASTERPIECE

Thanks/dank je wel, hahaha. Zo lekker vies dit van Muse.
seeing this live is gonna ... be a thing.

yeah pretty sure that's not it
@@dimitris410 Well it's patently obvious to folk who understand. Hopefully you'll catch up soon.
@@dimitris410 Into the Matrix interpreted the meaning accurately - shame you seem too thick to comprehend it
Best band in the world
love you mate

tripplets yeah! 6/8 + 4/4
That transition feels odd but also good haha

you now a synth preset for VST like a MASSIVE?
Ik kom hier net via de video clip van Muse en ik zag je in de recommendations staan! Lekker nummertje niet!
Geniale track!
My guess is that there's no guitar in the first part of the chorus - it's bass and synth driving the melody. Not a 100 percent, though.
@Mendalian - Is Muse the best Rock ever? Quite possibly.
Interesting (or something else) that every single "reaction" to this song doesn't give ANY attention what he is SAYING!!!
I'm a massive Muse fan, but missed out in Execution Commentary because I didn't have the Plug in Baby single. Heard live a few times but I thought it was a jam!
Added to my playing 😀👍
Exactly. What if samples were used. Who the fuck cares.
Damn this copyright shit
Jesus Christ, indeed
Lol dit is Muse? heavy AF, verwachte dit echt niet haha!
Muse going to trick the normies into liking rock music again. "Catchy metal". 😅
wow 3,5 minutes before I realized it's the Aborted guitar player o_0
This is considered metal to yall???
jesus christ slang less please... i enjoy your mixing and guitar want to continue too
