Wilhelmina Van Gogh - poor woman who broke after her brothers died. Vincent is most famous for painting two things, sunflowers and Starry Night. Color out of space - A thing from Space that corrupts plant life. Connecting both things. Whoever came up with this concept needs a god damn raise or a bonus or something. This is probably the most creative servant I've seen in awhile.

Most can not even come close to the material and medical cost that Van Gogh had . Combine with the jealousy coming from the very doctor who was treating him and the bullying he got from other people for being “crazy” . Welp, here i am with my crazy theory : the NP's Starry Night is missing a star. I cross referenced and that particular star would seem to be Algol, the Daemon-star, which is mentionned in HP Lovecraft's Beyond the Wall of Sleep. I believe Van Gogh is The Oppressor from that story, which is also considered by some to be Algol itself.

For the record, she has a unique passive skill that prevents her from dying from Curse damage. So all that curse damage can only reduce her health to 1, it can't kill her.

It's pretty cool that Van gogh killed himself to stop the outer gods towards doing something to earth! His memories, talents and memories are transferred to clytie though. Essentially this servant is Clytie (From the myth and association with apollo the sun god of the greeks) with the memories, talents and personality of Van gogh.
She's not even creepy. Just gives off a weird what is this supposed to be vibe. Gotta say whoever made her design has a lot of creativity going on in the 'unimaginable' aspect of lovecraft. I bet this person could make the "globules of color" an actual thing on screen.

Moment when you realize that the halloween event got the kama treatment, it was disintegrated and spread throughout the rest of the game, now we will have a bit of halloween in all the events
I like how inhuman she looks throughout the ascensions (sunflower stem feet lit!) and how she doesn't try to sound cute. Her design is, overall, avant-garde.
After 1st ascension, her attacks become visually powerful and badass. In the end, her design becomes awesome and seems like a powerful boss in the game. 10/10
Many people hate her, I personally think this is how a foreigner should be. The theme of color out of space is really fitting to her. Despite that, seeing her color, making me feels uncomfortable.....
Her voice gets too squeaky for me at times, but I definitely appreciate the design. I feel like she does the best fusion with an old one so far. Granted, I'm a bit biased towards the great black sclera eyes. :D
Hmmm, it appears that the contact with this Lovecraft creature, turned Van Gogh into a woman. That's what I heard. Also, this is the first genderbender painter on the game.
I am very unclear on their intended gender, it’s hard to tell whether DW wants Van Gogh to be girl or femboy. But any foreigner is a good foreigner for me and their animations are real neat and creative. Deffo rolling.

Makes perfect sense tbh. Actual historical painters like Van Gogh, Hokusai, and even Da Vinci sees the world differently than most people at their time. Kinda makes sense they would attract Eldritch Beings who bring madness upon anyone that sees them. Eldritch Beings also used artists to spread their influence in Lovecraftian lore.

But colours of space makes the most sense considering the warped or inversed nature of her 2nd and 3rd ascentions. And the weird feet in the first ascention which the colours of space mutate and transform wildlife.
In the np you can see a swirling animation this is called turbulence. The painting Starry Night show that its swirling structures have turbulent properties similar to those observed in the molecular clouds that give birth to stars. That small detail to these np animation is really impressive It's kinda poetic and sad in a way that Van Gogh's Madness allowed him to see one of physics most complex concept
Artists are the creative types, the great artists are geniuses hence they are a little bit crazy in one way or another so they easily contract eldritch beings.
After finally beating her event... It's so hard for her to not be my top most favorite servant. I have no doubt Oberon will rise to 1 again, but between her amazing gameplay, lore, voice, and art... It's not a for sure thing.

Im very new to the game and i just pulled abby and i haven't seen her assenscion model but i know she gets very cthulhu/nyarlathotep and i've seen kiara. Those are so far the only foreigners i've seen and im so confused as to what they are.
Until now they have only explained the class based on the Outer Gods of Lovecraft, according to that, in the Foreigner Class there would be people who came into contact with an Outer god but are capable of keeping their sanity on the verge of madness. Even so, is questioned if the class only refers to the gods of lovecraft, the Foreigners have a characteristic skill called "Outside of the domain" and is believed that they just need have contact with a unknowk world in some way, have traveled to another universe or have contact with a force or a being from another universe (such as the gods of lovecraft).
I'm digging the idea that a Curse/Quick meta could be do-able. Same breath, it could be the whimsy of one or two devs and dropped going forward, ideas thrown at a wall that resemble a coherent idea if ya squint. Boy, do I love squinting.

Essentially this servant is Clytie (From the myth and association with apollo the sun god of the greeks) with the memories, talents and personality of Van gogh.

idk why but her NP lines is a total eargasm for me
I like how inhuman she looks throughout the ascensions (sunflower stem feet lit!) and how she doesn't try to sound cute. Her design is, overall, avant-garde.
After 1st ascension, her attacks become visually powerful and badass.
In the end, her design becomes awesome and seems like a powerful boss in the game.

Many people hate her, I personally think this is how a foreigner should be. The theme of color out of space is really fitting to her.
Despite that, seeing her color, making me feels uncomfortable.....
My only gripe is the genderswap. Felt unnecessary.

Her voice gets too squeaky for me at times, but I definitely appreciate the design. I feel like she does the best fusion with an old one so far. Granted, I'm a bit biased towards the great black sclera eyes. :D

Makes perfect sense tbh. Actual historical painters like Van Gogh, Hokusai, and even Da Vinci sees the world differently than most people at their time. Kinda makes sense they would attract Eldritch Beings who bring madness upon anyone that sees them. Eldritch Beings also used artists to spread their influence in Lovecraftian lore.

But colours of space makes the most sense considering the warped or inversed nature of her 2nd and 3rd ascentions. And the weird feet in the first ascention which the colours of space mutate and transform wildlife.

In the np you can see a swirling animation this is called turbulence. The painting Starry Night show that its swirling structures have turbulent properties similar to those observed in the molecular clouds that give birth to stars. That small detail to these np animation is really impressive
It's kinda poetic and sad in a way that Van Gogh's Madness allowed him to see one of physics most complex concept

I’ve heard that she’s supposed to his sister, who was in a mental asylum for a good part of her life. She was having hallucinations and spacing out, presumably because of the foreign god she’s connected to.
So her art stuff is likely because she shares her brother’s last name and he was famous for his painting.

Im very new to the game and i just pulled abby and i haven't seen her assenscion model but i know she gets very cthulhu/nyarlathotep and i've seen kiara. Those are so far the only foreigners i've seen and im so confused as to what they are.
Until now they have only explained the class based on the Outer Gods of Lovecraft, according to that, in the Foreigner Class there would be people who came into contact with an Outer god but are capable of keeping their sanity on the verge of madness.
Even so, is questioned if the class only refers to the gods of lovecraft, the Foreigners have a characteristic skill called "Outside of the domain" and is believed that they just need have contact with a unknowk world in some way, have traveled to another universe or have contact with a force or a being from another universe (such as the gods of lovecraft).
Mostly but not necessarily the case, as we get mysterious heroine xx who is an alien, and Voyager who is a space probe.
