Django didn,t know he was playing Gypsy Jazz he just played what came natural to him. it was the guitarists who followed in his giant footsteps who named it Gypsy Jazz and wrote the rule book on picking technique etc. Django would not agree with any rules on how to play
Django Reinhardt has a big impact on my playing as I am a jazz and blues guitarist I consider Django & Charlie Christian as my two biggest influence 🎸
