      Just came across this video. I saw your comment, & no you are not alone. I own a 1959 M-F 50 gasser, & a 2018 M-F 1526.

The 175 had a standard double clutch with or without multipower.
Multipower was a hydraulic clutch inside the gearbox nothing to do with the main clutch. Multipower was the most misunderstood feature of the MF tractor. It was a hydraulic clutch inside the gearbox which gave the tractor another range of gears. There was 3 standard gears and a high and low range giving 6 speeds then high and low multipower giving 12 speeds.
The idea was, say you were using a rotavator use the tractor in high multipower at the speed you wanted to go if you hit some hard ground and the tractor started to stall you would change down to low mulitpower until you was clear then you could change back up when it was easier. It saved stopping to change down a gear. That's it.
We once had a mulitpower with an unusual fault every now and again the engine would pore out black smoke try and stall stop the tractor dead there would be an almighty bang then it was all fine. We never actually saw this happen but the farmer was adamant this was happening. Our salesman just happened to be there one day and saw it so in it came.
I split the engine took the clutch out stripped the gearbox and mulitpower , stripped the hydraulics out, took the axles off stripped the inboard brakes took the diff out found nothing not a thing. We rang MF Coventry for some advice we was told to change the main mulitpower shaft and helix gear even though they looked perfect, apparently it was a known fault with some under tolerance gears and what was happening was sometimes when the transmission was changed from high to low the high gear didn't disengage so the transmission was in two different gears at the same time. Nice.
By the way the 175 was a great tractor BUT it could eat clutches. Basically the clutch was the same as the 35x and 165 andcouldn't handle the extra power of the 175. MF came up with a heavy duty modification then later a bigger clutch altogether.

I broke one of these bears in half at 18 years old . Got the new clutch in and got it adjusted within speck , put it in then smacked it back together. ( 2 week job / doing it and others in the shop ) I suppose if only working on it alone ( 2.5/3 days ) in a amateur setting . The stupid PTO wouldn't stop spinning. In power or out . Spun all the time . Took inspection plate off. All tolerate measure on calipers. . Still Every time it started the pto spun . ??? . Refused to break it back apart. New clutch was in and it was together proper! . In desperation I hooked it up to a old 4' bush hog we had there putting new blades on . It worked flawless . 2 stage clutch functioned like new ! Drove it around for about a hour , ingadge / disengage. Tested clutch many times all worked fine . The pto didn't spin once I used it and kicked it in and out ... Took hog off tractor and PTO worked exactly how it should have. Turns out this was how they came from factory. Some needed used to wear in clutch . The farmer was very happy. He was using a old gas 30 style tractor without a 2 stage clutch. We get his " big new" 30 years old tractor going for him ( for parts only . VO AG shop done him some good . Us young men learned alot as well . ( Don't take a job that's to big for your collective brain ) as I ended up doing the majority of the work . Had a shouting match with a instructor who insisted I had messed up a new clutch and pressure plate . He wanted it broke back down . No need I knew my work at 18 years old . It was fine .

    Does a multipower 175 have a 2 stage clutch?

It can have Dual Stage or Single Stage Clutch is what I have been told by my old Massey Mechanic.
