Otto could tolerate the Fords, but when Reuben went out and bought a Toyota with an automatic transmission, that was crossing a line that couldn't be crossed.
@@sundown1362 Yes, that's true. The one thing they care about more than anything is getting your money. I, personally, like trying different brands for variety, and not just on cars. Do you know what GM stands for? Gotta mechanic. Do you know what GMC stands for? Gotta mechanic coming. Do you know who told me that? A lifelong Chevy owner.
Me neither. It's the only time I remember complaining about the terrible younger person casting. I was like "it doesn't look anything like a younger version of him!!!"

Otto reminds me of my grandfather. He always bought American. When my dad said he was going to buy a VW, he said “where are you going to park it? You’re not parking it in my driveway”.😂

The Coutry Squire and the last two Caprices were the cherry on the cake.

That's the one thing I don't get. Brand loyalty is stupid. Car companies only care about getting your money. They do not care about you.

Can you see. Reuben was screaming for help. Car enthusiast bought automatic transmission car , made in Japan where his estranged son are....
@@sundown1362grand scheme of it all yes, but the people who build those cars are passionate about it especially the sports cars
It sounds ridiculous but I've seen years long friendships break up over what kind of tires you put on your car.

as a 5th gen celica owner this is was my favorite part of the movie bc we never get appreciation 😂
And in the swedish version, "Otto" (Ove) drives SAAB and Ruben (Rune) drives Volvo. Until he changed to BMW! Then it was over.
I like that original Swedish movie, much better than this version.
Both of them inferior to the Koenigsegg 😂
in the netherlands it was Volkswagen, Opel, Daf or volvo. until they change to Layland car's

I had to look it up because my first thought is that's not Colin Hanks, and it isn't. It's Truman Hanks, and this was his second acting credit.

I'm on Team Otto. I love a man that loves a Caprice. My dad bought a 1977 Caprice Classic brand new in 1978. He had that car for 30 years.
Oh how i wish the only differences we had is Ford or Chevy
My first car was a Celica. Loved that car 😂

In the Swedish version is Saab Vs Volvo and BMW Z4 instead Toyota Celica.
Tom Hanks character reminds me of Hank Hill.
This was such a good movie, though the only part that gets me is the size of "one car garages" compared to what is common now. lol
It wasn't exactly Ford Versus Ferrari, but it was hilarious.
I truly understand Otto with this Toyota situation. And i'm not american.
I lost it when i saw the Celica 😂
I’m convinced that A Man Named Otto went on to mentor a young boy named Peter Parker 😂

At 01:32 and 01:48 - is this really Tom Hanks with massive makeup playing his middle-aged younger self?
De-aging with CGI. I doubt it’s makeup

Tom Hanks turned Ove into a pronoun warrior wokester and ruined a great movie.
Tom hanks was the wrong actor to cast for this role and so was most of the other cast members
As much as I love Otto, a Chevy?… bruh ☠️
