My daughter just got accepted to FSU (starting this summer). We’re excited but oh so nervous. Your video is very helpful, especially about the car situation. We’re still deciding if she’s going to take her car since it seems to be a hassle driving there. We’re from south Florida and although the traffic is terrible here, it’s nothing compared to what you mentioned.
I’m so happy i was able to help you out!! I know the drive from south florida is quite heavy to get there and back, but having a car up there is always nice depending on the situation! :)
This video is informative, but the “cons” are misleading. I'm a parent of three FSU students. Tallahassee is NOT overcrowded. Just College Town. Stores were “raided” everywhere due to supply chain shortages (i.e. pandemic). There’s PLENTY to do if you dare to venture outside of College Town. And yes, winters are cold. The winter lows range from 40s to 60s with maybe two weeks of 30s. As for the drivers? You guessed it. Only in College Town. My recommendation is if your'e going to be living on or near campus, leave your car at home. Students can ride the Seminole Express and Star Metro buses for FREE and the routes throughout College Town are fairly extensive.
We cant wait to have you here! Don't worry too much about the language barrier because we have people from all around the globe here, and you will find the perfect people who share the same experiences as you, it will be a great time!
Hey Ashton! I just wanted to say I’m loving the content! FSU has been my dream school since 4rth grade and you’ve inspired me to work harder to get down to Tallahassee! Go noles!

Im coming into FSU as a junior transfer from South Florida and this video really spoke to me because Ive been wanting to try a little different experience outside of Miami.
I got an MPH at FSU long ago in 2008. I was a much older graduate student. I took biochemistry I and II. That 2nd semester gets as hard as a real course in medical school. I knew that because I had taken summer anatomy lab with medical students at Colorado-Denver. The good pre-med students usually study about 15-20 hours per week for just that one biochemistry course. I thought the "party" school reputation was ironic. It was brutally rigorous in STEM. As for social life, I found that those of ages 18-22 were relatively most comfortable at FSU. Older graduate students were generally out-of-place. I did play a lot of IM basketball at Tully Gym when I was there - great times. Other than that, it was all work at FL DOH and then studying at night for FSU's MPH. I gave a presentation on Agent Orange in the Vietnam War. I later did some additional research of that era (1960s) and learned that Jim Morrison of the Doors had attended FSU. Morrison was part of the youth counterculture of the 1960s that rebelled against the establishment of the times. He did "party" a lot but was also a serious student. Jim read many books which is how the name of his band came out - an actual literary scholar at FSU who had gone into 1960s rock music and its lifestyle. That pattern is common at FSU - serious studies during the week and "partying" on weekends with that undergraduate scene. I moved back to my home state of AZ in 2017 but miss FL at times. Best wishes on the Nole journey. Morrison's music is very common in Vietnam war films. This video shows battle footage intermixed with anti-war protests of the era. th-cam.com/video/39C3LCK6njg/w-d-xo.html

I love the campus now but I could tell some bad parking stories from 30 years ago at FSU. Woodard used to go from Tennessee Street though campus and crossing the road was a challenge. I parked at the stadium and walked to Bellamy because there were no parking spaces on campus. There were no parking garages then, only parking lots with little parking. They will never provide enough parking.

Hey what’s up Ashton, I recently got in to FSU and UCF as a physics major and I’m trying to decide between the two. I have been told that UCF has a better STEM department, and thats pretty much the full extent of my knowledge (if you can even call it that 😅). I would really appreciate your input.
Hey! First off congrats on acceptances to both schools! I know that both schools have great STEM programs overall, and I was a pre-med student coming into FSU. As far as which one is "better" I think it all comes down to what you're looking for in the program ( what each school is stronger in for programs, research teams, culture, etc.) so I would do some deep diving on what your top priorities are in a school whether its career or culture related and make a pros and cons list
I literally haven’t made a single friend since being at the school. 100% worsened my mental health, and if I had the choice I would go somewhere else. Can’t wait to transfer!
Good video: from someone who has been going to Tally for years and is a former graduate, my thoughts.... PROS: The campus is mostly compact and easy to get from one place to another. You can walk most anywhere in under 15 minutes. The dorms are above average for a college, most have been remodeled in the last ten years People are great, good mix of personalities, not a "stuck up" school like some others Has a party reputation (and yes there is plenty of that) but FSU is also the 19th-rated public university by Forbes Very good sports programs except....see below Massive amount of clubs and campus activities CONS: Agreed Parking always sucks. However, you really don't need a car here. Most kids leave them at home. The closest beach is about 40 minutes away but you do have the res to go to. Yes it can get cold for a month or two but no big deal, need a break from the heat. Small airport. Once a massive football power, we have fallen on hard times, but the Doak still rocks, and hopefully, the NOLES will come back SOON. Food choices near/on campus are ok, but the Union is finally opening again may elevate that.
Hey! I have only heard great things about the MBA program here, so I would highly recommend it! Our business school is up and coming and has so many great resources for job connections post-grad. Thank you for all the support!!
I have a few friends that are in CS and they say that its pretty great, just challenging, but anywhere you go it will be challenging just because of how difficult the subject is. Overall though it is pretty good from what I hear!

Publix, Target, and Walmart have many stores and well stocked. There may be a few less items on game days, but that's it.
FSU or FIU, which should i attend for biological sciences major?
nice video. i'm actually about to start working there in research. will be attending some night classes as well.
not excited about the parking situation...
@@koreyg5279 haha just pray for an open spot and you might get lucky! night classes are usually easier to find parking too!
Im happy you enjoyed the video :) Night classes are awesome and I'm looking forward to seeing how you like it here!
Omg when I first came to fsu I was in shock at how bad people drive here
it really is the worst😬
You need to change "but we never win" part!
I really didn't hit my car on the pole I said so in the video >:(
whatever you say parilman
the party life at fsu?
it's definitely crazy here and makes for good content and memories, but if that's not your thing it's an easy thing to stay away from too!
@@ashtonherndon the demon Boyz will be making a trip to fsu from VSU for content and we will turn the school up.
@@son.of.omerta Love to see it man lol.Big things coming to Tally 👀
Did you ever choose fsu or ucf?? Asking for personally reasons 🤔
@@jordynnb.3073 UCF, like their CS program better considering i’m double majoring. Also I like Orlando way more than Tallahassee.
I like your shirt. Go Lightning! ⚡️
Thank you! GO BOLTS!!
I literally haven’t made a single friend since being at the school. 100% worsened my mental health, and if I had the choice I would go somewhere else. Can’t wait to transfer!
im an awful driver, no wonder i got accepted into fsu
hahaha me too man, me too
coming from nyc, 39 degrees sounds pretty good rn
hahaha, anything above thirty with the sun is a win in my book!
Nick… 😂
Good video: from someone who has been going to Tally for years and is a former graduate, my thoughts....
PROS:
The campus is mostly compact and easy to get from one place to another. You can walk most anywhere in under 15 minutes.
The dorms are above average for a college, most have been remodeled in the last ten years
People are great, good mix of personalities, not a "stuck up" school like some others
Has a party reputation (and yes there is plenty of that) but FSU is also the 19th-rated public university by Forbes
Very good sports programs except....see below
Massive amount of clubs and campus activities
CONS:
Agreed Parking always sucks.
I totally agree! a lot of the cons are easily avoidable, and FSU WILL BE A POWERHOUSE IN FOOTBALL AGAIN!! GO NOLES!!
Safe to say we’re back in business at DOAK
Hey man hope u doing good how's MBA there in FSU ?
Love from India
Hey! I have only heard great things about the MBA program here, so I would highly recommend it! Our business school is up and coming and has so many great resources for job connections post-grad. Thank you for all the support!!
@@ashtonherndon thanx man ❤️
Sorry bro, seeing Ron DeSantos is not a plus, it’s a fail … it’s a Trump-A-Like … Great School Horrid Politics …Florida without a beach
How’s fsu ms cs program
I have a few friends that are in CS and they say that its pretty great, just challenging, but anywhere you go it will be challenging just because of how difficult the subject is. Overall though it is pretty good from what I hear!
Ratio
always necessary
Imagine being proud of meeting Ron Descumtis 😂
Name a democrat president who’s demonstrated more success
Was loving your video …. then Deathsantis ruined it
What….weird view ….he just won re-election over 60% of of the vote…
Jesus is coming soon pls share and repent
Facts bro, in the video we saw Ron DeSantis at the Red Mass, where the bishops blessed all 3 branches of government
@@justkon1789 it doesn’t matter people just have to hear it whatever video it is
Bro can I dm you through whatsapp or email I need some information regarding project management at FSU
