Best scene in the game. This has always been the crescendo of the plot. The music, Cloud’s mind breaking, Tifa collapsing as she loses everything she’s been trying to hold onto, the beginning of the end.
This scene absolutely blew my mind as a kid. After everything that had happened, seeing Cloud completely broken, begging Hojo for a number was insane.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how they do this in the remake part 3. They’ve done a fantastic job so far, and I think Cloud’s mental breakdown may turn out to be worse this time around.
