Wow, wow, wow! We didn’t see that one coming! You now have your hands full! We do love the rear hatch on our International 25, though. You mentioned a new Victron Cerbo GX and Touch in your other rig. Don’t make the common mistake of also installing the manual panel (Victron Multicontrol) with it which I see in so many videos (even KYD). Hooking up the little grey panel (with a switch and knob) disables the ability to set the exact same parameters on your Touch display. The advantage of your Touch display is that you can log in remotely on the internet and switch your Multiplus between full inverter and charge only as well as set the shore power current limit. If you connect the Multicontrol panel, you lose that remote adjustment capability. We hope this is helpful! Merry Christmas! Brent and Betsy
Happy Christmas Betsy and Brent! We didn’t see this one coming either 🤣🤣. We quickly pivoted to juggle the Tommy Bahama situation. In a few months, it will make a great story. It is a bit overwhelming right now though. We are excited about the rear hatch. We did not buy the multicontrol because it seemed redundant but would have purchased it if it was critical. Thank you for the tips! It is great to get coached as we go and we learn so much from you guys! Warm wishes! ~ Shanna and Andrew
Wow. You guys. This is so much to figure out. You have a new baby!! We watched sitting on the edge of our seats as you walked through this whole process. I guess, if this had to happen, you guys are the best people for the job! ((HUGS)) as you figure this new challenge out. -Jim & Michelle
Thank you both for the kind words and support. In a few months, this entire trailer situation will be a win. At this time? right now ? It certainly feels like an awful lot. It will be an adventure! Happy Christmas to you both! ~Shanna & Andrew
Since you have owned Airstreams before I was surprised you didn't use the hand crank on the front electric jack to begin with rather than taking it off? Your inverter must work as well if electric is getting to the lights. Just curious why you use wrenches instead of sockets?
Thanks for watching! I couldn’t find the hand crank that should have been with the trailer in the compartment where I would have put it… spoiler alert: 2 days later I found it in the closet under some wet clothes. I’m not sure at the time why the jack didn’t work connected to the truck but the lights and brakes did- of the 3, I’m glad it was the jack- easiest to work around. The wrenches were on top, the sockets were deeper. They would have been the better choice.
To be honest $25k is not bad. 2018 Bahamas edition are running on average 80k and some over 90k. Cheapest ones are on low 70s. I think you got a great deal friends. With some TLC and DIY you should be good to go. They hold their values too even if they are salvaged. Yours is minor so far, honestly, its a great deal plus you gonna use it for camping. I would be unhappy if they never mentioned that it was salvaged but I think its a great deal at the end.
Thank you for weighing in! I am optimistic that the value map is in line with what you have suggested. Honestly, if we can make this work and sell the other Airstream to cover the cost of this unplanned situation, this Tommy Bahama will be a MAJOR upgrade for us. Thank you for the encouragement. Happy Holidays! ~Shanna & Andrew
You guys!!!! You will do great with it, but no one likes a $$$ pit surprise. At least you are in sunny Florida in December! ❤
Fingers crossed! This was very sudden. Thanks for watching! ~Shanna
