When you’ve reached the peak, where else is there to go ? Enjoy it to the full. It’s great to be Total with our passions. There is bound to be another step. In life there is always another step. Bravo
When you have reached the peak there is only one thing to do… wait until a new peak appears like the Telos 8800. There will always be something better. But that doesn’t matter. Better is the downfall of good and the nemesis of the best😉
High five! It’s a milestone you can always look back on and say you created something truly great that no one can deny. Walk away from wondering what’s next for at least two weeks and relish the moment. Can’t wait to hear the listen sessions.
The incredible looks of the speakers now rivals the looks of the amp they are both on the same level visually. They are magnificent to look at, the quality & style just screams at you. Fantastic!
When i get to your house, you can play it for me. Sure looks awesome !! Price is awesome!! Bet it sounds AWESOME!! Nice set up, room could be bigger but still nice.
I have a pict of that amp with two reps from Gryphon at Axpona ‘23. Very nice guys and knowledgeable. The Apex is way larger in life compared to pics and vids.
I heard the Apex at THE Show in Costa Mesa in June, twice! It was very very good for sure; Rune put on a great demo. ****BTW, congratulations on 20,000 subscribers!
Must have separate dedicated rooms for music, video, and everything else. Music room should have the shape of a proper way concert hall. Kool videos!!!
What a Beauty and a Beast finally you got it.I have been in this journey with you when you first introduced this beast to us.I wish God Willing have such money. Jay You and only You can do that man it's all your passion, dedication and hardwork.
I watch you Jay as a reference of something to dream about like about some fancy Ferrari while driving a modest Kia. My whole system probably costs like one of your connecting cables (sorry, interconnects) but the joy of music is here as it is in Florida. Enjoy your new Grifon, it looks like a piece of sculpture My diy Pass F6 has 0.24 farrad.... Not too bad for what it had cost me... Now, sommer and it adds to the general heat but we accept the heat as long as the relaxing sounds come out... Best regards
Perfect amp, so nice so big. Jay please add video with sound of this amp, and second, it will be interesting to take video how you connect to all your system, I mean cables, not only talking about it, just wanna more action. Thanks.
Excited for you Jay. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through YOU. One question. Do the lights go dim in your neighborhood when you crank this baby up?
Haha. Welcome back to gryphon. What I have heard on your channel - they just seem to have a very unique house sound that I’m sure brings synergy with your Wilsons. Congrats.
What the best Amplifier you’ve ever had? I’m a Made in USA guy, so I was excited when I saw the Boulder Amp behind you, and then the curtain drops on a very nice Danish Made amps my heart felt so disappointed!!! LOL 😂🤪
Hello! Thanks for another great video! Do you still ensure all your cables (speaker, interconnect, power) are from the same manufacturer? Unfortunately, the company that made my Speaker & Interconnect cables went out of business, so I won't get a matching power cord! Thanks for your time,
Congrats! Great looking amp! I saw it in Munich. Never heard it. I hope you buy the Gryphon Commander for the synergy. If you love long term, perhaps also a second Apex stereo to do a vertical biamping of your Wilsons.
@@jaysaudiolab I'm definitely not buying. I'm an engineer so kinda curious as to what components go into it to justify the price, it's not like a component going out into space or even server grade where the MTBF is like 4 decades. Would like to see someone from LTT take this apart. Also congrats on getting this, I'm sure it sounds amazing.
That's a true statement you made. In the audio upper level, it's more what you like and your needs. I'm happy with my Mac MC501s, which work for me, the best I've owned. Are there better amps out there? Yes. But these 501s work for me. Though the price, size and weight of the Gryphon don't work for me, they fit perfectly for you. Audio is such an individual and subjective hobby, and I'm not sure there's an objective standard by which to judge many aspects of it. But even I can tell that the Gryphon is a killer amp, and I'd probably be blown away if I heard it. It looks every bit as powerful as the specs say it is. Congratulations! Hope you don't change your mind about this new Gryphon, because that would mean you'd have to move it again!😄
I already listened that and the monos. I don't know if you listened the monos? I thought it will be almost the same has 1 power, but it isn't. It's an improvement of imaging, power, bass etc...
Which would you suggest for Wilson XLLF's?....... Which brings me to the second question, Chronosonic XVX vs. Alexandria XLF? Please compare and contrast......
That is one cold blooded lookin amplifier! I'll say this, Boulder needs to take notes on the looks! As good as Boulder sounds from here, they look like large metal rectangles! Its ok to be beautiful! No need to go nuts but, they need a face lift! After all when the lights go up you still gotta look at them! Congrats!
Very nice... I would not buy these but I understand this man.... I have owned some Mark Levinson, Audio Research, Classe Audio, etc as well as my favorites: Threshold ... with Snell, Thiel, Vandersteen, VMPS and Wilson speakers .... it is about what a person loves and craves / desires and can afford as well !!! Good luck ...
Never heard that amp in person, but safe to say it’s got to be better than the old Boulder. Never heard a single SS amp that can touch a SET DHT amp but the Gryphon amps I’ve heard in past were coherent and detailed w/decent soundstaging and musicality. I still consider the Pass Aleph 1.2 the best sounding SS amp I’ve ever heard. The sad part is those Wilson’s are much more efficient than their older designs, there’s no need for massive SS amp. Not going to power them with a SET DHT amp in your room but had you instead chosen a VTL Siegfried you would have experienced the best those speakers will ever be. Maybe you’ll have that opportune while the Wilson’s are still in your home.
@@jaysaudiolab How’s that? I’ve owned 2 different Watt/Puppy versions in past, like many Wilson’s of that era 25-30 years ago they were around 86-87db/watt. Even worse, they were rated at 4 ohm load but had 2 substantial dips in audible range down below 2 ohms. Your XVX I recall are >90db/watt and I recall load curve being relatively flat 4 ohm load. I certainly could be wrong as I’m going off memory and I’m probably twice your age 🤣🤣🤣.
Fwiw, I drove my Wilson’s w/Aleph 1.2 amps and briefly w/Manley Reference 440 monoblocks, which ran so hot driving the Wilson’s it was intolerable. Eventually replaced those Watt/Puppies w/ML CLS 2’s, the Manley’s ran SIGNIFICANTLY cooler 👍
Hey Jay, what a nice system you have there, but I'd like to hear how the system sound. If you remember the Audio Videa Show Room of Peter Brueninger. Well he play music very well recorded, so why don't you play some music ?
Great video but I would have appreciated just a short walk around before it was connected. Vid is 13 minutes long and we get 1 second of the back panel. Please go into depth on how you have it wired up. Someone may not have seen how you have your speaker wire configured. Are you using the OEM power cable? What does Gryphon recommend, etc. Thank you
I thought your speakers look big until you see it next to the amp. They balance each other out now. The system is hugh in looks and I'm sure in sound. You need to get Mikey back and blow his mind lol. Nice job Jay your like the bunny rabbit you just keep on giving, don't stop. AWESOME!!!
Keep an eye on a company called Infigo. Their amplifier, the Method 3 monoblocks, 55k, reportedly sounds very very good. Solid state, class A with a unique biasing system. A very positive review by JVS, no newcomer to the ultra high end, is in Stereophile.
I wonder if cleaning personnel is needed for that room and all that amazing gear… where can I send my application?😅 Bad jokes aside, congratulations, your room and gear are the most complete and competent set I have ever seen. Truly top notch.

That is the most bad ass looking amplifier i have ever seen.
Its a nice looking amp, its manly! I found my keeper amp a vintage Yamaha B-2 getting a full restoration now, so I feel your excitement.
Aesthetically it looks amazing with the Wilson’s.

I saw/heard this amplifier in the flesh at the Costa Mesa, CA Home Entertainment Show, in the Gryphon appointment room...... Very impressive piece.

Cool
The good news is that when you are finally done using it, you can melt it down and make a Toyota. 🙂
Hmm
Hahaha
Love how the Apex look , wish I could afford to buy one and would like to hear it , good job Jay

I think it's awsome!
Yes
Monster amp. Have you ever had and tested a Pilium am?
Are you gonna get the Commander preamp?
Not sure
congratulations for the class A amplifier, amazing have a nice listening , but they do not refer in the gryphon site the damping factor.
The frequency response is what you like that they used, 3hz to 350k kHz
Congratulations for you
This is the fruits of your hard work day in and day out
enjoy it
Yes, thank you
Better put away a few extra pennies for the electricity bill 😂😂😂
Absolutely
Just plug into your neighbors outside outlet!!!

Did you ever try the Goldmund's flagship Telos 8800?
Nope
Absolute beast mode. Screw the cars, the watches or the other fine things in life. This room right here is where it’s at.
