I used normal printer paper in my latest piece.
The paper masking tape ripped off bits of it, but it's not a big deal for me, because I think it adds character to my soft pastel abstract painting.
Just be careful and patient.

I agree with you, it is so challenging to preserve. Use fixative spray (Camel fixative spray or Brustro fixative spray) for preserving... and photo frame another good option.

Try rough side of the paper need some texture for soft pastels. Or you can use "Pastel Paper".
@@ArtArtistry okk sure bro...bt one thng more...m not able to use two or more colors on each other to give shade...eg on yellow applying little orange is kk bt on it if i want to use red...it wont apply

I am an artist and it's really helpful and easy for the beginners I just really like the blending the perfection it have really keep it up
Having a very serious problem blending the colors together with my fingers.. its like it doesnt all blend well... like having white patches.. is it the paper or is it the pastel oil paint...?
