The one thing I remember the most about this game is the music, I think the developers purposely keeps it loud bc they truly want you to feel what is going on, and the music greatly pushes that. However an accessibility setting would've been nice for it xD
Better yet, IRC there was a specific divide that each of the 3 main characters (Connor/Kara/Markus) has it's own composer for all of their matching soundtracks, to give a "style" to each character's soundtracks.
Oh yeah the soundtrack is extremely special. It’s more than you think haha, spoilers ahead: There’s a scene where Connor chases Kara and the song that plays during it with called Run With Me. It’s very heavily using Kara soundtrack, but as the song progresses, you can hear Connor’s soundtrack added in, first in the background, then becoming more pronounced It’s genuis. There’s not a single note in the ost that wasn’t planned, I’m convinced of it 😂 each character had their own unique style but when they’re innovated and combined, in my opinion, is when they REALLY shine ❤
OMG. DBH is literally my favorite game ever. I wish I could play it for the first time again haha. Anyway, I'm very excited to watch you play it! Hope you do complete the play through, and maybe even check out the other choices at some point, cause there are a lot of different ways the game can go, including very different endings 😊 And about the questions you had regarding time in the first scene, yeah! What makes this game different to many other split-narrative games, is among other things, the fact that there's often a hidden timer. Making no choice, or going too slowly, is a choice within itself! I personally think it's a really cool mechanic. You basically have to choose your own balance between being thorough and looking at everything, so you can find out more and possibly unlock further dialog options - and knowing that taking too long can also be it's own issue, just like irl.
51:32 That door layout is actually less weird than my house. We actually have 3 doors extremely close to each other that lead to the porch. One leads to a bedroom and the other two basically lead to the same room (the kitchen and dinning room that are only separated by a built in counter). The one to the kitchen always seemed like an unnecessary design choice until I realized how easy it made it to host gatherings in the backyard. Also, so excited to watch your playthrough! I have lots of catching up to do!
Pearl not looking at Hank's desk is so painful T-T there's so many details there Also she's getting stressed out over so many things that really don't matter, most of the stuff she misses are just different paths. Like I have over 100 hours on this game and she's doing so well with choices for the path she is aiming for. Also Connor's actor is a twitch streamer and he streams with his wife :D (She's also in the game as a smaller role)
ok so i know it's like just a throwaway thought but i know why the hockey clips on todd's tv are so low-quality! they're actually a couple of different games spliced together. the overhead one is an Alaska vs Alaska Anchorage WCHA game, and the other is an SPHL game between Ft. Benning and Ft. Bragg on a military appreciation night. you can see in some frames that their nameplates say things like "honor" and "courage" instead of having their actual last names. the game devs very likely couldn't get the rights to clips from any higher leagues (the WCHA at the time of development would've been a collegiate league and the SPHL is an independent minor league based in the southeast and midwest US) so they used what they had. i know from experience that minor league and collegiate games are not shot on the best cameras lol. anyway!! sorry for being a hockey nerd in the comments but i thought i'd share :D (also last tidbit one of my favorite players on my favorite team is an aussie as well!! nathan walker my beloved)
Not sure if you'll see this but for anyone else interested, on the topic of the high-speed train going coast to coast in 2 hours. The SR-71 Blackbird flew from coast to coast in 68 minutes in 1990. An average speed of just over 2,000 MPH. The SR-71 was put into service in 1966. It blows my mind that with 1960s tech, we could go coast to coast in just over an hour, yet now 60 years later, it still takes over 6 hours to fly that commercially. Concord needs to make a comeback.

i played this game with my brother back in like; 2019; and man this game is much less subtle then i thougt it was when i played it as a child. it took me so long to get the implications of whats going on with alice and todd; and i diddnt understand that this was a civil rights medaphor till like half way threw; whereas i saw all of it immiditly watching as an adult lol. get ready for an fantastic ride pearl!!

I'd highly recommend trying this game out yourself if you get the chance! There's so many different storylines and endings and every single decision really does affect you later on. It's very re-playable because of how many possible endings there are. This is easily one of my favorite games of all time.

IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE GOOD TO PLAY DETROIT, (I’ve never watched your channel before but I have seen you in Lizzie’s videos) I’ve been WAITING for someone I know to play Detroit become human Wanna hear some fun facts? The actor that plays Connor (Bryan dechart, pronounced deck-hart) is married irl to the blue haired Traci (Amelia rose dechart) and they just recently had their first baby! Bryan dechart (Connor) and Clancy brown (Hank) changed some lines in the script because Hank and Connor might be friends (depending on what you choose) actually improving the script,just to shove it in the face of David cage’s (the director) nitpick-y director style The making of Detroit (obviously)took time. Wanna know how much time? They had to record every possible option the player might take, such as the player might go one step forward then two steps to the right, ect. They had to do every possible movement with a double (someone with the same measurements as the actor) LET THAT SINK IN there are 85 endings, 13 for Connor, 33 for Markus and 39 for Kara. Connor can be decommissioned (2 endings), follow his machine storyline (3 endings) or his deviant storyline (8 endings). It took over 100 animators/graphic designers to finish the game within 4 years Also if you thought Hank sounded like Mr krabs…you are correct Clancy brown is the voice of Mr krabs ( i wrote all of this before I watched the video, so I’ll give my thoughts on the ending you got in the replies when I’m done, also I accidentally deleted half of what I wrote so I HAD TO TYPE IT ALL AGAIN, pray for my hands, they hurt😭)
This was both entertaining yet also very frustrating to watch through. At moments I was satisfied then there were moments like at the end with Hank... Anyways I got to see new parts of the game, so play the game as you want to since it was a fresh perspective.

Hm, yeah in terms of a vehicle moving at 2900km/h: according to chat GPT, 0km/h to 3000km/h at an acceleration safe for passengers would take 7 minutes. So on a 2 hour ride that would be over 10% of the total time XD I'd guess those don't have stops on the way cause that would be quite slow (I mean the only metric we have is the total time, so IDK maybe it reaches speeds of like 6000km/h but it spends most of the trip accelerating and decelerating for it's couple stops) That being said at those insane speeds the curve of the earth might come into play and we might feel like 5% lighter, which might be slightly noticeable. (Again according to chat GPT, I'm sick RN, so I certainly don't have the energy to do those maths myself XD)
DBH makes me so sad Edit: I didn’t finish watching the video because I fell asleep but I have never seen that ending when Conner was doing the interrogation and I just want to say I loved that scene

This game for being as old as it is, it's VERY demanding in Ultra. You also have ur fps limit set to 30, 60 will feel MUCH smoother.

I just watched a video of all the endings to this scene and other than the running away one, shooting him was the best option you could’ve chose because Alice dies in almost all of them if you fail or even worse if you fail the fight with the gun Alice then shoots Todd 😅
