I honestly think The songbird and the heart of stone is her best work. To me it was incredible, what an emotional journey. It so fun to listen to you because we usually love the same things!!! ❤😂
It’s always so crazy to me how even amongst fanro fans who love the same series books can hit so different! Gold was one of my most disappointing reads and Songbjrd was an easy 5 stars. Always love hearing your take! Here’s to not overhyping new releases in 2025 haha
I feel the exact same way about songbird! I love Carissa Broadbent. She’s an auto buy author for me but this wasn’t it at all. I DNFd it. I’ll have to go back and finish when the next book comes out but I was just sooooo disappointed
I actually read The serpent and the wings of night in December and it was one of my favs along with Bewitched so I expect great things for the next book🗡️🗡️🗡️
I almost ended my year with 2.5 stars book but then I decided I still can finish a novella and end my year with better book. I enjoyed Stuck with you by Ali Hazelwood but my favorite book was Twisted shadows by Allie Therin on December 😊
🗡 One of my biggest disappointments last year was also one of my most anticipated reads of the year: I picked up Wisteria last month (Belladonna #3) and it was beyond disappointing. The crafting of the story came across so amateur-ish. I am even considering not picking up another Adalyn Grace book in the future. The Spectacular novel off of the Caraval series was another waste of my time. My favorite read was Guillotine by Delilah Dawson! BTW, I have 200 pages left to read of Goldfinch, so I am just about ready to see your much-awaited Plated Prisoner vlog! 🤤✨️💛
I'm currently on page 159 of Songbird... I keep thinking to myself.. where are all the vampires!? Star Cursed King was epic... I wish we got more Raihn and Oraya! I watched this vid but skipped over your Songbird review so I could go in fresh, but it's such a slog for me to get through this that I was desperate to hear your thoughts, Rachel! I encourage you to change the score to a 2! I think it will be a DNF for me... and I was able to finish Deadly Education (Naomi Novak), which had me rolling my eyes every couple of pages. I'm disappointed that this is my first book of 2025... think it's time for a TBR on my bookshelf (Quicksilver or Spark of the Everflame..?)
My favorite book in Dec was the last book I read for the year, which was The Winners from the Beartown series. SO SO GOOD!! I'm sorry yours ended on a disappointing note! I'm wondering if you've read the trad pub version of Fear the Flames and if you feel it's any better or worse? I do worry trad pub will ruin the spark of indie authors! 😢
Interesting to see some books/authors that were much loved when they were self published, but are having lots of hard reviews by the the bookish girlies now that they’re being traditionally published. Yes, I’m looking at The Songbird and the heart of stone, but also Fear the Flames. 🤔 Are professional editors cutting our favorite scenes? Don’t know…
I feel like I'm in the minority with The Songbird and the Heart of Stone. While I'll admit the romance wasn't as strong as her other books, I still thought it was decent, and the world building just felt amazing in this one! The underworld was such a vivid place and I really enjoyed watching their journey through it.
Lady of Starfire was definitely my favorite read of December, and my most disappointing one was Where the Library hides, which is the sequel to What the River Knows by Isabel Ibenez. So disappointing. ⚔️🗡️
⚔️⚔️⚔️ Unpopular opinion! My worst book was Bride by Ali Hazelwood. It wasn’t bad per se. I primarily read fantasy romance and I was excited but I felt that it read more contemporary. Though it’s said to be about vampires and werewolves it could have been about normal humans and still have the same outcome.🤷🏽♀️
😍ln 2025 I highly recommend everyone to read Your Life Your Game by Keezano. It beautifully shows how connecting with God and building meaningful relationships can lead to spiritual growth and success in both your personal and professional life. This book truly changed my life..a must-read. God bless🥰
Literally just finished ‘the songbird and the heart of stone’ and I’m right there with you on that review! Ending was 🔥 but the rest was just bleh for me. Disappointed

I just found your Channel and love your vibe and the different genres! I will definitely watch more of your videos 😍
i need to read intermezzo in the new year! my favorite reads of december were Monstrilio and Impossible Creatures 🗡️
YAYY I'm so excited for the plated prisoner vlog! I soft dnf the series and need motivation to continue 😭
10000% had the same exact thoughts for songbird!!!
Would love a video of your top ten favorite books!!
🗡️🗡️🗡️ I read the TOG series in the month of December. Loved it.
🗡️ 🗡️ I recently bought Intermezzo and I can’t wait to read it. I also 10000% agree with your thoughts on The Songbird and the Heart of Stone 😢

My favorite read this December was Rain of Shadows and Endings. It was so good!
I read “Scattered Bones” it sucked me in and I could hardly put it down. It’s different than shutting else I’ve ever read. I highly recommend it!!
The Ever King was my favorite read in the month of December. It was so good!!
You'll enjoy Quicksilver then as well! Loved The Ever King!
I loved the ever king! The mist thief was one an easy 5 star for me
best book i've read in december was definitely Quicksilver and the second one Witches' blade.
Absolutely binge watch all your videos and I am so looking forward to anytime you post! keep it up in 2025 as well! Love from Romania ⚔⚔

💯 same on TS&tHoS it felt like a different person wrote it. My favorite December book was Beartown. ⚔️
slay!!!
Oh man, I'm nervous to read Mische's book. Thinking of waiting til the next one comes out so I can read them back to back 🗡🗡🗡

Sword of Kaigen has just moved up on my tbr list! Intermezzo was my first Sally Rooney book. I liked it but did not love it. 🗡🗡🗡

Was SO excited for songbird but it was a struggle to give it 2 stars. So disappointing!
⚔
How did you know I needed a video from my favourite TH-camr today? 🥲
🫶🏻❤️
🗡️ You’ve convinced me to add Sword of Kaigen to my 2025 TBR. Actually you’ve convinced me to add all of your December reads to my 2025 TBR!

same!! Bride and Fate Inked in Blood were my biggest disappointments and letdowns in 2024 for me. Overhyped, imo
⚔️🗡🗡🗡 hopefully 2025 has more 5 star reads !

I'm on page 159.. is the ending worth continuing to read on? Seriously asking! 😊 (so close to a DNF)
@ meh, for me, not really. I’m sure you could find a spoiler review if you really want to know 😆
@@stephaniewest88 haha true!!! You have made the decision for me!
Please read Anathema by Keri Lake in 2025!! :)
