Moved to Dallas in Nov 2023. It was between Houston or Dallas. But after doing some research, I decided to go to Dallas. It is a safer city overall & more family oriented. I love that it's pretty much a clean city. And my job opportunity was better here too. Left from LA. I drove 19 hours during the night & it was a great ride. Excited for raising my 6-year-old son out here too. Buying a home next year.
So glad I found this video. I currently live in Baton Rouge, La (born and raised here) and I’ve been having a burning desire to move to Dallas for about 7 years now. Thanks for this video.
@@shabrittaneycondol From BR too, and I live in Dfw now. I think you should do it, more opportunities here. All ima say is, you’re gonna miss the food lol.
This video is such a major help❤ I’m a single mom of 3. One on the way to college which is the reason why we are moving there but I still have 2 kids in home 12,5. So this video is the truth. I literally prayed and then went on TH-cam and your video is the first thing that popped up. So I appreciate this and you so much.
Now this makes me extremely happy!!! Congratulations in advance on your move and I hope and pray it’s an easy transition from where you are now to here for everyone!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you. I’m following your tips on diversity in the school because we are black and that is a major thing. But let ask you this if you don’t mind. Did you visit the schools during your visit to Texas? And how did you know that was the school for your son? Because looking over the computer is not giving me the connection I need.
I Just found your channel. I was born about a 90 miles south of Dallas. (Mexia) I've been living here all of my adult life. I've seen the drastic changes over the years!! From a big overgrown country place to a place that has become flooded with warehouses, highways, apartments, even worse traffic, long lines at a lot of venues, massive home/community developments. No longer cheap to live here. Welcome to today's world. Lol. You mentioned the idiots on the road!!!! I totally AGREE! Many already living here, some passing through or visiting, combined with the ones that recently moved here and here we go!!! There are a lot of places here, the surrounding areas and right outside the surrounding cities that love to cater to kids and animals as well as the adults. Big welcome to you and your family!!!
I’m so glad MEXIA is still country and does not have the highways issues. We have four, 14, 84 FM1365 and 39 😂😂😂 MEXIA definitely needs more apartment complex. I love Plano ❤️
Congratulations! Rent is high every where I remember in 2015 my rent for a one bedroom was $535 it is now $898 which is still cheap I have no intention on moving any time soon.😀
I am VERY familiar with West Monroe!!! My dad is from Tensas parish. We used to live in Bastrop, but we used to go to the annual rodeos & do shopping in monroe/west monroe!
First time viewer! Been in the Dallas area for a decade now. I was watching feeling like it looked so familiar, then you said you were from Monroe! Me too! Welcome! I’m in Rockwall!
i’m so nervous to move.(coming from south florida) i don’t think i’ll have the luxury to go up to texas to actually view so i have been utilizing street view on google maps to get the real view and use hashtags of the cities on tiktok and ig. i’m most concerned about my 2 year old and i don’t wanna have to worry about ppl hanging outside, or racism especially, or the place being problematic. And i won’t be having a car up there so i’m looking for a wfh job also
Completely loved and appreciate you for uploading this. Hoping that I’m able to move there … have to find a job… then place. This video encouraged me though
Congrats on move! My husband and I just moved to Irving temporarily while. We are searching for a home. I agree with everything you said. Not sure how people are moving with no money lol. And I stay OFF the highways 😂😂😂😂.
Thank you!! Wishing you both the best on your search! ♥️ Those homes go so fast here! Right like if you don't have money then you have to have family helping or something. There is no way anyone is moving anywhere with no money at all lol. I legit was terrified to drive on the highway the first two weeks 😂 😂
I moved here 11 years ago and it is a very nice place to live. However, I didn't find "some" natives to have that southern hospitality. I thought it was a bit strange and just me, but I have spoken to others who moved from different states, and they feel the same way.
Thank you!! You’re going to love any of those locations! Like you can’t go wrong with either of those places whether you’re moving alone or with a family! Wishing you the best!!
I came across your video recently because I too am moving to Dallas soon…from Chicago for work. I appreciate the transparency and information you shared. Like you, I’ve watched lots of videos and they never seem overly realistic or what my situation may be. You mentioned an incident of racism, do you care to share where you were and if you believe it may be “the norm” for that spot/area?
Thank you for posting this video and the resources you shared. This is very timely for me. I live in Los Angeles and am seeking more diversity for my daughter. She goes to a great school but there are like 3 black kids in her whole grade. I'm going to look into what you shared and appreciate the tips you shared. All the best to you!
Here from your bankruptcy video. Gained a new subscriber!! so blessed to have come across your page, I'm planning my move to Dallas and this vid popped up next. I was so set on Plano but like you said, diversity matters!! I was kind of nervous looking at the percentage of black kids.. Question, I currently own my house and debating chap 7(house excluded).. do you think its best to lock something in before I file, or apply after things discharge?
All those cities are nice and diverse especially DeSoto. I will say this its a hit and miss with all these cities especially depending on how deep you get into those cities. Arlington can get crazy especially during football season as far as traffic goes. If you can visit here I definitely would advise to do that because you know things always look good on the internet. I could visit those areas, which I plan on doing when school starts to tour properties and neighborhoods.
@@LifeWithMC That would be a great place to start! Weekend evenings are typically BUSY BUSY. If you and the fam need any bbq suggestions feel free to ask 🤝
You should came to Red Oak or DeSoto Texas.. like North Dallas is overrated. That’s where majority of the other move to. So yea. Nxt time look out this way.
Thank you for the recommendations! We actually are planning to look in DeSoto. We were pressed for time and had to move quick and just got the first 3br condo we could find that had a pretty nice school but I want a house with a nice yard in a nice quiet neighborhood.
@@LifeWithMC we have all of that. Out this way.. red oak, DeSoto, waxahachie, even certain parts on Lancaster…. North Dallas is just so overrated. That’s all you hear about. So everyone is pressing that way. Until they realize that we have other parts of the city that much much cheaper.
Honestly, I came out here a lot before moving and stayed in areas I wanted to live in. Staying in airbnbs for an extended period of time and acting like a local (going to gyms, grocery shopping, shopping malls, events, etc) let me know for a fact if that area would be safe for me and my family. The area we are in now is diverse and I definitely feel safe but no matter how safe I feel my guard is never 100% down.

McKinney! It's strange because the area is SUPER diverse but I guess you're going to run into it at some point. It's annoying AF I'll tell you that.
The racism in Chicago is covert and deeply rooted. I grew up there and will never move back.
