    Note: This is comparing a new Char-Griller Flat Iron to a Blackstone that I purchased new in May of 2019. Some comments below seem to show that Blackstone has added some of these functions to their new griddles as well.

    Great review. I’m headed to Menards to get me a Char Grill.

    Char-Griller for the win. I placed an order for the Blackstone and then realized what a pain in the ass it would be to pull the griller out every time I needed to empty the grease tray since the back is against my deck. Front grease trap make much more sense. Cancelled the Blackstone and just received the Char-Griller. Some people order products just for the brand name...but this video shows that Char-Griller made a good product a whole lot better...and for less money.

    I have a 28@ and a 22” blackstone but the review of the char grilled is impressive. You did not give the measurement but one of my biggest complaints about Blackstone is they build the griddled with the legs too short. Also the rear grease Managment system is a pain if you have it where it is not all that accessible to take out to empty’s Kind if like the front tray removal on the char grilled. • @DocRickJr
      @DocRickJr 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used to own the Blackstone model that is in this video and I hated the rear grease trap. I'd much prefer the front location because it was easy to lose food in the rear trap as I was scooping up the food to flip it over. I'd always have to be careful about using the back wall to help load up a spatula if I didn't feel like have one in both hands. And perhaps the biggest negative of the Blackstone is that if you don't get it covered before a rain shower it will fill up and overflow the grease tray. Even with a lid on, the grease tray is still exposed. With the tray completely under the cook top it will not fill with rain water as long as the lid is on.

I kept shopping around and watching reviews on griddles for a week and when I went to buy a Blackstone at Walmart the price had jumped to 327.00. That did include the lid though. The guy at Walmart said they're going up again this summer. I can't comment on any other brand ( although the Char Griller looks great ) but I love my Blackstone. Another important thing to me was the Blackstone 36" is 60,000 BTU's as opposed to Camp Chef which is only 48,000 BTU's.

I prefer the rear grease trap because I've lost some hash browns down that whole in the griddle of the Char-Griller. That's what my smaller griddle has. I’m looking for one that is made in the USA instead of in China. The camp chef is designed in the USA but manufactured in China

    How much is the char griller

      @RobsBackyardBBQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it's same as the Blackstone - around $300 unless on sale.

    Char Griller seems to have Blackstone beat.

    Good job, Rob. But I don't see anything about the Char-Griller that would make me want to get rid of my Blackstone. It is nice for you that Char-Griller deems you are popular enough to send you a Flat Iron for your review. Congratulations!

      I didn’t know the Blackstone included metal cover. I thought that was extra. And Menards currently has the chart griller for 269

    The Char-griller is less expensive. Almost half the price of the Blackstone. Also, both are Made in the USA!🇺🇸

    You are comparing an older version of blackstone to a newer chargriller. Look at the newer blackstones. I have the pro series with drawers and love it.

      Hey Gary - thanks for watching! I was comparing two griddles in the same price range. I bought the comparable blackstone at the beginning of last summer - before the pros came out.. Are you saying the current ~$300 bare bones 36" blackstones have more features than the one I have? If so, that's awesome - really glad they improved the design. I wasn't aware.

      Great review, I've had the Char griller for around 6 months or so both great products there is no argument there. It all comes down to what you want. There were a few things that I didn't like about the Blackstone. The ignitors, and burner knobs. I've cooked on both temperature is easier to control on the Char griller, and it has less hot and cold spots than the Blackstones that I have used.

    I believe that the shelves are higher on the newer 36 inch and igniters on each orifice. Paper towel holder and i believe a trash bag holder. Check out video from not your average tech dad. No trash bag holder.

      Again, mine is the Pro and yes, it has the paper towel holder and the trash bag holder.

      Hey Gary - i'm not against blackstone.. I've loved em the past few years. Are you sure that's the base model that has the igniters on each burner and includes the paper towel holder and trash bag holder? If so, that's good to know.

    • @garycrandall1652
      @garycrandall1652 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The not your average tech dad said around $300.00. Did you watch the unboxing video. Folding shelves. No trash bag holder but folding paper towel holder.
