Angle-iron underneath the ladder was a brilliant idea! Also love the tips on writing the letter T for the cover. Great video!

That's really nice I hope to get me one built for mine ..1st time buyer and trying to learn as much as possible before even putting it up still have to get the foundation figured out but that foam seems like a pretty good idea instead of gravel or just dirt

Good tips on the clamps and the rope and the skimmer. I ordered a floating in-pool skimmer but i think it's nicer to not have technical stuff taking up swimming space. So a skimmer like yours is better. Though it will require cutting into the pool liner... Not sure if i'm up for that.

It's not hard. I've moved my skimmer to new pools when the frame or liner goes bad twice already. use the plate that goes inside the pool to mark your holes. and line it all up. you don't even need to cut the liner until AFTER you get all the screws in. just do it like the instructions say and keep them for later use, like another pool install.

Why didn't you use XPS foam? That way you don't have to worry about it compressing.

I looked at that at the hardware store and felt it was too stiff. My ground was not perfectly level and that stuff seemed like it would snap before it would bend. With what I have now, you can sort of feel the softness still under your toes. It's like a padded floor.

How's the pool holding up? Any issues crop up from the skimmer?

Nothing big. The screws around the skimmer had some surface rust on them, but not bad. Opened the pool to clear water with 4.5ppm Chlorine. It is too cold to use yet. Going to do a tankless heater next.

Hi, do you have rust and corrsion issues using saltwater on your pool? Thanks

Not yet. Salt is bad for metal, so I take out as much as I can over winter... ladder, pump, reduce water below skimmer opening.

    Are you're T bars on 2×4 or 2×6's?

2x6 mostly, but a mixture of various height wood. some stacked to get the right height. some brick even. no kitchen sinks though. but nothing as narrow as a 2x4 because the roles can shift in/out from where you think is the right spot. also a x6 spreads the load better.
