    Have you seen the winners of the Sunset Circle Awards? They're given out by a group of film journalists with an emphasis on awards coverage, like Sasha Stone of Awards Daily. They made refreshing choices. Best Picture: ''Dune.'' Best Director: Denis Villeneuve (''Dune''). Best Actor: Andrew Garfield (''tick ... tick ... BOOM!''). Best Actress: Kristin Stewart (''Spencer''). Best Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress; Jamie Dornan and Caitriona Balfe, from ''Belfast.'' Best Screenplay: ''Being the Ricardos.''

    I have thought Macbeth might still have a shot - the ratings from critics are really high. And they have only released 2 under a minute teasers, so we don't really know what might tempt the audiences. On the down side it's Shakespeare, which will limit the audience. And releasing it on Christmas? Nothing says holiday like a Shakespearean TRAGEDY? So box office will probably be very low. But the question is - will academy voters watch it and respond the way critics did? Also, with the Best Picture expected line up thinning out (Gucci out, Ricardo's probably out, C;mon not looking likely, and Don't Look Up and Nightmare Alley hanging by a thread) there may be a slot. Plus the Academy may like to have one "high brow" film that is so beautifully shot and features a stellar cast of talent. And what about the actress playing the witches for supporting actress?

    • @Gilescorey6458
      @Gilescorey6458 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eh. There's so many Shakespeare adaptions and there will continue to be more. I get that this is a very well directed one but still it's nothing new. I like it but I don't think it should even get nominated for best picture. It'll be a decision that I see aging horribly.
