The notes button is on the left side in red letters under the 16 levels button, u then hold the shift button which is on your right, hold the shift button and 16 levels button at the same time.

Matthew, first of all let me say that both Cjfree, along with just a few friends and yourself are the only people that keep me from dumping this MPC Live in the trash 🗑. However( Thank) to all those really great vids that she post and your easy to fallow instructionals - I hold off.. the workflow Is overwhelming at times and turn me off. I’m now looking at the Force. I like that everything is right in your face kindda with that.. and the idea of using clips are not bat at all. Thanks again to both of you for letting me see what’s possible Z

any idea how LINK works? i use my Live sync up to an ipad, which is great for syncing with the ipad apps i've got. there's not much in the manual about LINK and the One. funny those lights blink at you :)
Firstly, no. I don't know. I think there is an app you need to download... Dont quote me though...I still need to look into it.
You got the Mpc one 👍🏾 Gonna keep tabs on you see how you get on. Could you tell us the difference coming off the live or the X for people that might want the one for on the go producing and the live or X for the lab 👍🏾

Im very surprised that Akai decided to not include the Ableton Live Support for this model . Doesn't make sense to exlude that feature from the MPC One , that brings inconsistency in the line up.
Yeah, I'm confused by that choice. Maybe hardware limitations? Weird that it isn't there.
Matthew Stratton Perhaps either they didn’t want to pay Ableton for the Licensing or I’m thinking maybe they just rushed it and they’ll add it in a update . I believe MPC one has the similar specs to the MPC X and live
@@ericsummers2112 Yeah, I believe it does too. I see what you are saying...the One does have a different button layout than the X or the Live. I didn't think about that.

Hi Mathew thanks so much for making this excellent video tutorial much appreciated. Been trying for the longest time to figure out how to connect the MPC One to Ableton. MPC One doesn't have Ableton Live connect but it does have Ableton Link. I would like to be able to use either Ableton or the MPC as the master so I can at least start and stop and record from either ableton or MPC One, can't seem to find any info on this. I have run MPC One into a Ableton track and record it but can't start and stop ableton using the MPC One or vice versa. Thanks in advance

I assume you mean "notes" button. If you read the manual Akai makes it sounds like you can use scales in any mode, "When activated, you can play musical scales/modes, chords or progressions using the pads while in any mode. Use Pad Perform
Mode to configure the settings for the pads. "
But I haven't figured out how to get it to work outside of pad perform mode.
How do we do to install F9 expansions ? i can't do it however i dowloaded the F9 expansions then copy to my external hard drive and connect to my mpc one but nothing works ... can you make a video or explain me how do you do to have it ? thanks and great video matthew !! keep going :)

mate make the logo a png and take out the white it will look much better and slick, it would fit your videos better and make the look more nice. just my thought bros the videos class as always and help ful
Hello. The logo is a png. I added the white in the back so you can read the dark blue with the black back ground. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm always looking for ways to improve.
Is this just as capable as the live?
As a former owner of the MPC Live, and current owner of the MPC One...The One is a homerun for me. No it doesn't have a battery. No you can't install an internal SSD/HDD. Yes it only has 1 USB Port. But for me, based on form factor alone the One is the most portable...most bang for the buck of them all.
I never felt comfortable lugging around the $1300 (at the time) Live regardless of the battery. It did not sit comfortably in my lap. And it didn't fit nicely in my back pack. The 1 USB port works nicely with a USB hub if you need more ports. And if you absolutely must make beats on a beach, you can always buy a Jackery Power Station to hook up the One.
If a 128GB Flash drive + 128GB SD card isn't enough storage for you, a 500GB/1TB SSD with a Sata to USB 3 cable works great. I also purchased a laptop stand which the MPC One sits perfectly for that tilt action.

I just got an MPC One as well. Does anyone know how to use the key groups? I'm having the same issue and can only use plug ins for notes and chords.
Once you register the MPC One on the Akai Pro website you can download the F9 expansion and install it on a SD card or USB drive. Then you will have some keygroups to play with.
I downloaded the F9 instruments and I'm still having trouble getting key groups to work.

You are using the crash of that kit in a very irritating way. I don’t know if it’s your musical genre or it’s because you’re making this video when you should be sleeping lolol. I promised myself I would never buy an AKAI machine without Arrange View and I am keeping that promise. I would never buy this AKAI One! It is not intuitive in its handling. You have to use many buttons and functions to get something. Everything is very confusing and hidden.

HAHAHAHA...I agree the kick/crash combo got tiresome...That is why I changed it when finishing up the sequence...haha fruityloops...to each their own. No matter what you choose to use, you have to learn how to use it...
Matthew Stratton Yes I noticed that you changed the Kick/crush almost at the end. At least using it so long has kept you awake 😂. I would like Korg to produce an MPC. It would be a great lesson for Akai how good and intuitive it should be. Korg is perfection.
@@narzq Aren't they wack though? I bought the Asr-10 when It came out and it's in my garage now. Outside of that I've used just the MPC Studio for the last 6 years.

How to go back to factory demo page?
When you are in a project on the main screen, press the folder at the top, and then press the new key. It will take you to the start up screen.

@@andriebayuajie7801 After you load the keygroup, on the main tab push the keyboard icon. Then select your keygroup under where it says keygroup program.
