I think they should make it so the second hit of Waterfall’s Shield makes you unstoppable until the shield breaks. After all, the shield isn’t too big anyways and just that little bit of Unstoppable would be nice.
That'd be great, gives that little bit of leeway for getting aqua tail's last charge. Honestly one of the more reasonable and justified use of unstoppable(unlike a certain legendary)
The problem with this build is definitely the huge pause in between waterfall dashes you’re just a sitting duck, imagine if night slash zoroark was that slow
Aqua Tail isn't too bad when paired with Bounce; the real issue lies with Waterfall. Even after the buffs, it still falls short. There aren't enough shields and crowd control (only 0.45 seconds, bruh) for the time it takes to execute the three waterfalls. Meanwhile, Bounce stands out as one of the best mobility moves in the game, offering anti-CC, good damage, and plenty of shields. It allows you to finish off enemies in the chaos of a big team fight or escape from dangerous situations.
Okay so now that Aqua Tail is 5sec cooldown I gave it a few games. First very important thing is: *you can retreat with Aqua Tail while shooting forward,* all you need to do is hold/buffer it whichever direction you want, flick your aim forward, then back to whatever direction. Second, don't afraid to dump the boosted Tail attack since it makes your cool down last longer. Bonus for no reason, the boosted attack as an auto aim goes wherever you're facing so don't mash it just hold it for a smidge. However, if the opportunity presents itself to use the boosted Tail it's also *Unstoppable.* Third, either Waterfall or Bounce works fine as a gap closer or escape. Waterfall is lower cooldown and offers an alternative to basic attack while Bounce is the better chase/survive option. Fourth, since using it requires a more move focused builld, I'd recommend Attack Weight and Focus Band/Buddy Barrier for survivability. I've also been using XP Share to help with anyone stuck with the Karp in a lane and because you're likely gonna be farming way slower.
I think Aqua Tail is better with Bounce tbh. You can fire your Aqua Tails, until you get the empowered version, jump in with Bounce and then Aqua Tail empowered. Don’t know how good this works, but just an idea that came into my mind.
But that way you would be standing still for too long, this give the opponent to get away from you which is the biggest problem. Add to that the boosted aqua tail have a really short period to use and bounce will need charge too.
I'm actually a fan of aqua, it is a bit frustrating how is flaws are. But a decent range, Pierce, splash move with an execute? Awesome haha. Even if it's the inferior one for now I think it's a neat idea
Aqua tail feels better after the patch but I think it should be changed so that it can slowly move with hindrance resistance rather than being stuck in one place
I also think Dragon breath could use a slight reduction to the startup and endlag frames on the powered auto attacks so it can move a little in between them instead of being completely stuck in place while holding A (And mewtwo y needs the opposite so it can't move full speed while attacking lol)
They buffed Magikarp so it's now much easier to evolve. The problem now is that Gyarados is still so underwhelming. Breath/Bounce is fine, but Gyarados is so frail, the set just isn't as good as other basic attack spammers like Garchomp or Meow. Tail/Waterfall does good damage but it's very slow, can easily get stunned out of it, and feels clunky. What a terrible patch. 😢
I feel like if you had to recast waterfall to get the other dashes it would make it feel better for both Aqua Tail and Dragon Breath, and if you gave aqua tail the same treatment or make it like azumarils if would also feel a lot better.
Always exited for a mechanics video from cris! He explains it so well. I remember learning about the zeraora pull techniques to get the achievement from cris🎉
I’ve been playing a defensive build and I know my team hates me for it. But I can tank shots in the beginning and I just use waterfalls base damage it’s enough for me to get finishes or make speedsters and defenders chase me to my team.
loving the new combo. thats EXACTLY what they must do with ground chomp so simple yet efective change. maybe quake dont even then need a damage buff lol
@@nguyentheanh3534 i dont think it would be too op since gyarados doesnt have the same sustain as azu, i think it would work more as ranged auto attacks that do big dmg then
The video i've been waiting for. Still looks like i will use the dragon breath and bounce combo, but I am very glad that magikarp evolves faster and that unite has been buffed.
Every game I play gyarados good and do everything right, yet we still lose, last season i was ultra 2, with the new season it was vet 2 but now i’m all the way back down to vet 4, probably gonna make it back to great class
You know I had 10 games this season I won 4 of them and lost 6 In this 4 we had no ex and some of the enemy team did have it but the 6 games we had Ex Pokemon and we loose terribly like we don't even have a chance Our zacian or Mewtwo just jungles but never comes for the gank or for any objectives or ray it's frustrating to loose so many games just because of these players i feel like we are playing 4vs5 not to mention that one player with a choice spec zacian
can we talk about they adding the achievement of evolving before level 6 on gyarados *~* a new vid to incentivice its play. also well played. PD: everyone else is getting stunned out xD maybe dream of a match in draft when theres only one stun on enemy team... dream.
There might be a bug where when I evolved into Gyarados and picked Aqua Tail, my auto attacks works like Magikarp instead of actually having boosted every third basics. That was a nightmare and I didn't like playing that build anymore after that. But looking at what you did, maybe I would try again to see if it works this time. Edit: I love this build after I no longer had the bug. I just prefer Bounce rather than Waterfall but other than that, Aqua Tail is actually fun to play and I had success with it.
Honestly, Gyarados is very underwhelming.... Breath and Bounce work pretty good, but it's other move just lacks the utility. It'd be great if each hit of Waterfall shoved and gave a small shield at least. The shield that you get from it isn't very useful, and the CC on the last hit can't really be taken advantage of.
Actually unite is not providing any defend item which will reflect damage like other moba....every Pokemon has burst and huge amount of attack increasing item but no such def item...no battle item
All Aqua Tail needs is Unstoppable throughout *all* its stages and it'll be quite strong That, and a ranged option on its charged hit, as well as CC'ing and missing HP damage if the melee version is used
I think they should make it so the second hit of Waterfall’s Shield makes you unstoppable until the shield breaks.
After all, the shield isn’t too big anyways and just that little bit of Unstoppable would be nice.
Agreed
Yeah something like safeguard blissey’s shield.
That'd be great, gives that little bit of leeway for getting aqua tail's last charge.

Idk Gyradoss whole kit feels kinda weird . Auto attack build does not have enough life steal and squishy and Aqua tail gets canceled by any cc.
AT should be hinderance resistant
The problem with this build is definitely the huge pause in between waterfall dashes you’re just a sitting duck, imagine if night slash zoroark was that slow

Oof gyarados nuke build

Tail gets cancelled by cc
Still so clunky. They should let Gyrados move while using Aqua Tail.... Like Azu can

I think before the patch meowscarada was a A tier mon and they didn't need to buff it further. But damn gyarados needed those buffs
Would be fair if aqua tail was hindrance resistance for like 2 slashes

Magikarp buff really hit it.
Thanks Timi for fixing the input delay. The only good thing other than Dragapult slight nerf.

All water types are pretty darn fun

The damage of the build is honestly quite good, but it still feels super clunky, and quite honestly just isn't fun imo.
True i think if Aqua tail and waterfall were moves that you press 3 times instead of holding you in them would be better
@@udc8453 or works like Azu Aqua tail. though it would probably too OP

This combo definitely works before the buffs. You had to execute a little differently but was definitely the only way ive played him.
this was interesting and a fresh air for me to see. Since release I haven't come to any gyarados players, maybe once or twice in the last month
Every game I play gyarados good and do everything right, yet we still lose, last season i was ultra 2, with the new season it was vet 2 but now i’m all the way back down to vet 4, probably gonna make it back to great class
Aqua Tail just shouldn't be cancellable
Cool video and im kinda excited to see a zacian video
played this today and it did solid damage but felt so clunky, still prefer breath
Crisheroes never fails to spread our cheeks and fill us with content

This move is clean man, sucks that cc shuts it down
Yws
Woooooow, I need to try this combo here in brazil

a new vid to incentivice its play.

That charmander really wanted you to struggle with that Evo you could have got it so much sooner.
We can finally get 5 navy emblems bcs of miraidon, im gonna try some navy amp gyatados
Yes so much damage 😮

a water version of blaziken, great
it still looks like a bad build since almost all characters have a stun
Nice game Chris
Why nobody talking about the waterfall nerf? I swear there wasnt that loading bar after yhe first dash. It's so awkward people just get away now.
Plz do live on TH-cam to we love to play watch your soloq👀
Then why did they make charizard weaker, they both should be very strong
No wae! I was in a vid! btw I was the Crustle, hope none on my Rock Tombs interfered...
Is it me or gyarados' basic attack speed is severely reduced to karp's speed?
Its not just you
both build feel so clunky to play i hate it
Aqua tail is good, but waterfall looks very bad...
#justiceforakmid
I don't play this I play dragon breath and bounce Best combo
nice
Actually unite is not providing any defend item which will reflect damage like other moba....every Pokemon has burst and huge amount of attack increasing item but no such def item...no battle item

nah bro i think it still sucks and for this build to work it needs a complete makeover
Or a faster cast time
Nah. Gyarados is still terrible unfortunately.
I get 1400 every season so easily
